One of the major problems of Africa (using Nigeria as a case study) is lack of good leaders, and this is borne out of the greed, selfishness, self-centereness, complete disregard of situations as long as it suits one, taking things wt levity, etc, found in the average Nigerian. The leaders all go there with the mind to steal as much as they can, lack prioritizing, the lawmakers are busy fighting blow for blow, etc. The average Nigerian only has survival on his mind, every means to survive whether crook or clean, there is corruption at every level all in a bid to gain more not caring what is destroyed in the process. The educational sector and all other sectors are in shambles cos of this.
There is gross illiteracy, even some who went to sch come back as educated illiterates cos most went for the Cert, and lack of enabling environment. How wld one learn when there are no equipment or materials needed available. There is little practical involved, just theories and more theories. We are the ones, self-destructing ourselves, our nation.
There is also the problem of hypocrisy, we are very religious yet we still go against out religious teachings. We aren't in problems becos we are religious, but becos we pretend to be, but our hearts are something else.
On the issue of population, personally I believe if pre-marital sex is curtailed or controlled and family planning more introduced to pple esp in the rural areas.
Teenage pregnancy is increasing daily, a situation whereby a girl has given birth to 3 children b4 she is 20yrs, even outside wedlock all to diff men. NL is enough case study, with pple coming for stupid advice after getting a girl pregnant when they know they av no means to cater for a family.
Couples shld also be encouraged to plan their families well. This is where illiteracy comes in again. Poor pple are noticed to bear lots of children even when they can't cater for even one child effectively, and the cycle continues.
Even if a child had inherited a good IQ, the environment matters. The Nigerian environment is not encouraging at all. I don't see IQ as the problem, our problems lies deeper.

I stopped reading when you said you dont understand why sterilization and a marking would stop the spread of HIV. Are you braindead, how does this not make sense to you?

India also has a low average nationwide IQ because they have a lot of uneducated people as well but the ones who live in the West are running circles around white children. Most of the big technological companies are made up of Indian people. If you told an Indian person that he was dumber than the average person, he wouldn't believe you.
Africa's main problem is self-hate. When you actually start to believe that you're dumber than someone, it become true. Studies have found that British Nigerians do 20% better in school than the average British kid. Nigerian Americans are also the most educated immigrant group in the US. For the people on this thread, my message to you is that you shouldn't let anyone tell you are dumb because of the colour of your skin. It simply isn't true.

I also went to the same school system every other black kid went to yet somehow here I am with 130 IQ, actuarial science major talking about politics on the internet in between homework. Where are my black American friends? (and some white ones too) drop-outs, bullshit majors, some have kids etc. This is because I came from the creme of the African population while they are members of a population with 85 average IQ.

And its hereditary, my dad is also high IQ as is my brother etc. Its generally agreed that IQ is .5 to .8 genetic.

I disagree, IQ test has little to do with the development of this countries... your choice to explain the lack of development in countries by IQ's reflects a lack of understanding of the factors which are relevant to development. IQ results are a function of the development and not vice-versa. Most of the problems that have faced African countries have little to do with the intelligence level and more to do with the inherent divisions between the ethnicities within Africa and individual interest.

What you are talking about is the flynn effect. As the GDP and wealth of a country increases so does the IQ every generation. This is an invariable fact that has been seen in every nation.

Yet, when we look at African Americans in the United States, the richest nation on earth, we see an IQ that is still 15 points lower than the white. Some will say this is because of racism etc, but if this is the case, why do African immigrants succeed in The United States, why do Indians, Asians and other ethnic groups? In the case of Africans its because the portion of us that comes to the United States is the creme of the population, in the case of Asians/Indians they come from a population that is simply higher IQ (on average) than American blacks.

So while the flynn effect is true, it doesn't explain away the obvious intellectual deficiencies in black people.

China was in the midst of the Opium Wars at that time, the population was addicted to drugs and they were also too arrogant and isolationist to appreciate the true magnitude of danger the west posed to them. They had historically been above everyone and wouldn't follow "savages" from a foreign country. Japan on the other hand, was used to taking inspiration from other peoples. Their culture was inspired by China's, their religion was inspired by Buddhism etc. They were keenly aware that they needed to catch up or face destruction.

Either way, its not about the specific time a country develops, its about how fast and how decisively they do, and how the people/ leaders of the country react to challenges. When you look at East Asia compared to Africa you will notice that the main difference is the human element.

And i'm really glad you brought up North Korea, because it highlights my theory perfectly. North Korea is a country with almost 0 natural resources, terrible leaders, international trade sanctions and grinding poverty. They even have famines from time to time and require foreign aid. Yet, where is the AIDS? Why don't they import everything like Africans do? Why are they able to create their own clothing and weapons?

Despite being one of the shittiest countries on planet earth the IQ of their people enables them to be able to build their own nuclear weapons while Africa cannot even make an indigenous rocket.

Look at their military parades, look their infrastructure, look how organized they are. This is a clear indicator of higher IQ. This backwards country with no economy and no resources can start nuclear war if they wanted. Nigeria, with all her oil wealth and free trade is all the more pitiful when you make the comparison.

Intelligent quotient is a test of perception derived from set of test based on certain cultural advancement. I had been subjected one and came out genius level. If a European is subjected to IQ test in my native vernacular and based on my cultural advancement, he or she will come across as a dunce.

Who said anything about black people being "inferior to whites", was the topic of whites even mentioned? The fact that you jumped to that conclusion speaks volumes about your insecurities and worldview, and also illustrates why the vast majority of black people will never advance. I don't think blacks are "inferior" and there is no objective way to measure inferiority anyway. Are whites better at academics, on average yes, but they also killed hundreds of millions of people in wars and genocide and spread disease and instability all over the world.

The only problem with black people is that we have too many low functioning people dragging the average IQ down and messing up the gene pool. We also have people like you who are too insecure and scared of being seen as "less than" by whites that you are unable to admit the truth about this issue and discuss the only viable solution.

By the way, Africans do better in the United States because West African Immigrants to the United States are typically the creme of the population, I would know. Have you seen Ethiopia of late? Currently, it's the fastest growing economy in Africa. At 8%. It will be overtaking Nigeria as the biggest economy very soon. Splendid infrastructure too.

However, the idea that the spread of the disease is due to Europeans is laughable. Europeans may have created the disease but its spread is due to the stupidity and backwardness of the black people who spread it.

As for Ethiopia, Economic growth in Africa has little to no practical effect on the lives of the citizens of the country. GDP measures economic activity, drilling for more oil = more GDP but the people of the country (even the government) often benefit little. The best example of this is Equitorial Guinea, an African nation is 20,000 GDP per capita and the standard of living of dirt poverty.

Africa is currently plagued by three major problems that if left unchecked will leave her in eternal backwardness and suffering. These are; HIV/AIDS, overpopulation and dysgenic fertility (reproduction by those with genes unfavorable to modern life). Thankfully, all three of these issues can be addressed with one policy.

HIV is a disease that disproportionately effects the stupidest and most irresponsible members of society. Regardless of what anyone might say, there are few other disease that are more easy and more rational to protect against than an STD. Getting HIV/AIDS in areas were the illness is prevalent (up to 25% and even 40% in some parts of Africa) is a direct reflection of an individuals inability to conceptualize future events and inability control their base animalistic impulses. There is a direct inverse relationship between IQ and AIDS prevalence, the lower ones IQ the more likely one is to contract the disease.

What are the human rights of an AIDS sufferer? The same as anyone's, people have the right to freedom and safety so long as that freedom does not infringe upon other peoples safety.

The solution to the AIDS epidemic is simple, compulsory sterilization. Tubal Ligation in the case of females, and vasectomy and/or chemical castration in the case of males. In addition to this, individuals with AIDS should be given a irremovable marking, indicating that they carry an incurable disease. This marking should be in a subtle location (such as the inner thigh) so as to not cause undo stigma in professional settings yet still be accessible enough to deter unwitting romantic partners.

Does this sound inhumane? It is no more inhumane than the quarantine of people infected with Smallpox, Tuberculosis and Ebola. How laughable would it be if someone suggested to you that "stigma" against Ebola sufferers was inhumane? This is what western liberals say to Africans everyday, and foolish Africans with their low IQ and shortsightedness join these westerners in providing "life extending medications" to AIDS sufferers further ensuring that a disease that could have been eradicated within 10 years of its discovery becomes the most endemic disease in human history.

Well nature has already provided the solution, HIV. As you've stated people with HIV are on average less intelligent therefore they die and are less fertile. The worse the HIV problem a country has the more eugenic selection takes place.

If AIDS causes eugenics that is a good, but it also causes death and suffering, reduces tourism income and reduces investment. Sterilization is a more humane and practical way to solve the problem
