I suggest checking out Stanford's Programming Methodology CS106A on YouTube. They teach in Java but it's a very good course and it will teach you the basics of programming. I started with that, moved onto Stanford's CS193P and 3 months later I am building my first iOS app. I'm actually vlogging about it daily on YouTube so you can check out my channel if you want to follow my progress. Here's day 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vc00B8HXCwk |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9BQ5HmbVkM I also have a blog where I post every Saturday - http://learnscode.kenechi.org. I'd love it if you could subscribe to both and share, as it will keep me motivated to keep going until I succeed. Peace! |
I'm learning Swift from Stanford's "Developing iOS 8 Apps with Swift" on iTunes U, I'm just wondering if anyone else is learning this language or whether it will have no place in nigeria? Here's the link for anyone that's interested - https://itunes.apple.com/gb/course/developing-ios-8-apps-swift/id961180099. If you don't have iTunes or an Apple device, someone uploaded the videos to YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOEPVM5OzJk?list=PLy7oRd3ashWodnpf8rjfYEkTgwbOEsKfU. Also, I'm blogging about my journey learning programming. I post once a week and I share any resources that I've found useful. There is a ton of stuff out there, trust me. Here's my latest blog post - http:///giUlRTo2b0 |
Sorry for the late response, I don't really login to this site much. They really need to develop an app for it! No prior experience, I've only started learning since January. I started with CS106A from Stanford and now I'm going through their Swift course. Hopefully I'll have an app out in a few months. I think we need more African developers putting out fresh software. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irwNsz2pxO0 I'm open to connecting with anyone else who is also learning alone. Thanks! |
For my MSc research I need people to participate in an online experiment. It takes between 30 minutes and an hour to complete. You get to learn how to play chess, and every participant is entered into a raffle to win a £30 iTunes gift voucher. I'm aiming for 100 participants so that gives everyone a 1/100 chance of winning. Finally, you also get to help a fellow human being (myself) better himself by getting a masters degree. Thanks to everyone who chooses to participate. I'm forever grateful!
