Chinese people do this in virtually all sectors in Nigeria.

Wherever you see a Chinese company operating, they usually hide or disguise in doing their businesses in Nigeria because they don't want to pay tax and because they import things into Nigeria without paying full customs duty through corrupt Nigerian customs and they use this as advantage to sell far lesser price than Nigerian sellers and merchants thereby drawing most Nigerian customers to their businesses.


This should be an eye opener to Nigerians

Why should i fear to repeat? I saw that by my eyes,i see fake rice in China,and i also see fake rice in Nigeria.I even be cheated to buy fake eggs when i was a child.Some of bad people can do any bad things for money.When more bad people be punished,this world will be cleaner.

Every country has good people and bad people,some of this kind of bad businessmen are really harmful,they damage the reputation of other honest merchants and spoil the market.I paid taxes and they didn’t, so I had to stop my business in Nigeria and go to Europe to do business, but they made money in Nigeria.Nigeria is like Gotham City, it's hard for good people to survive.But bad businessmen are doing well.
Those who deserve to be punished must be punished and then Nigeria will be a better place.

Depends on the price, cheap products has low quality.Expensive products has high quality.
Cheap things have big market in Nigeria.Expensive things are hardly sold in Nigeria, only few of rich people and government big men can afford.
If you pay much money,you can also get things with good quality made in China.

The economic situation is really serious now.I have stopped my business in Nigeria,and moved to other country.Nigeria is a funny country, no one can predict whether you will make money or lose money next month.The whole country is like a casino, doing business depends on luck.Haha, but I still like Nigeria,some of my best friends are there.

The points also raised could be valid but in summary I think it is more to do with the economic situation because the stopping of Nigerians starter in January not from the inception.

Many Chinese, Indian, Lebanese small supermarkets do business like this,they close gate and don't want to be disturbed by government people,some government big men will come and say they want to check this and that for long time,then find reasons to ask money.They don't want to pay taxes because they think they have already paid money to government people

I have seen similar shop in Benin when I was working with one Lebanese construction company the Lebanese have a dedicated shop in which only their kind shop there and almost all what they are selling is something related to their custom
The shop is located in a living compound you wouldn't even know that there is a shop in it because 24 hour the gate is always lock and no much customer though I can't recall the exact location again
Even the store door is always locked

Just now one of my Nigerian friend called me to greet and complained that there was a Chinese supermarket in Abuja that refused Nigerian customers to go in and shop, and showed me some videos on news.
I feel very sorry and angry about this kind of racial discrimination. The bad guys must be punished.
But when I asked some Chinese people about this, I found out that this happened not because of racial discrimination, but because of crime and corruption.
As a Chinese, I often went to Chinese supermarkets for shopping when i stayed in Nigeria.
Let me tell you the reasons why these Chinese supermarkets do this kind of nonsense things:
Reason 1: Many Chinese supermarkets do not go through the normal customs clearance procedures. The used to use fake documents to do clearance.They bribe the customs department to allow some banned goods to enter Nigeria. You can check Chinese supermarkets and easily find many goods enter Nigeria without due process. So they don't want Nigerians to enter and shop, that will increase the risk of their crimes being discovered.
Reason 2, Many Chinese supermarkets try their best to avoid paying taxes. When you check their sales list and tax list, you can find huge criminal facts. Many Chinese supermarkets and Chinese restaurants even directly receive RMB payments through WeChat transfer. In this way, they can avoid paying the taxes they should pay.
They don't want too many Nigerian eyes to discover these secrets. That's why some Chinese supermarkets refuse Nigerians to consume.
You can observe that some Chinese supermarkets like to close their doors during business hours. My Nigerian friends, please use your brain to think about it, what kind of supermarket would do such things? Why do they have to hide their business and only do business between foreigners secretly.
This incident did not happen because of racial discrimination, but because of economic crime.

I feel unhappy at those bad Chinese businessmen who damage the reputation of Chinese people, but unfortunately, there are too many of them.
The FCCPC officials had shut the supermarket after a visit on Monday.
But i think other government departments like EFCC and FIRS should also investigate this Chinese supermarket.
If the government departments just collects money and imposes fines, do not strictly inspect other foreign supermarkets. Okay, fine, you people will encounter such embarrassment again and again in future.
