I would have said why would you sell your property cos of UK masters but then I saw your other posts and then I know the real reason why you are going (I will still pretend I did not see that)

Well you are going for studies (this is what I will focus on). you still have from now till September 2018.....the money from your property can cover schoo fees right? try and get money to put in your account to show for maintenance fees, please make sure it is your own personal account or maybe parents account.

How do you get maintenance funds is the main issue:

Talk to family and friends, You may borrow money from family or friends and put in your own account for the mandatory 28 days and then another maybe 28 days for the visa processing. ( you have about 7-8 months from now to look everywhere for the money). The main thing is for the money to be in your OWN personal account.

I am naturally scared of anything called agents but I will be lying if I say I don’t know peope use them. If you must use them, let it be your last option, which is really really risky.
@OwoloB..bro i salute your candid advice and your time..i will do all i can..one love bro

That money thing is really stupid. Since she earns a bit closer to the money needed, she could get any job that pays minimum wage and work part time, at least for the sake of the application. I mean it would be easier if you come as a tier 4 and get a PT job which takes the income over the 18600 rule and besides there are ways to get over the rule. You can have her email citizens advice, they might know what to do.

Bro. i salute your great idea about my case..pls how can she actually email the citizens advice because its really stressing me up..pls you help if u know..pls

This complicates it completely.
I am in this thread because it is a Tier 4 Student Visa thread.

I am sure there may be other resources online that could offer the kind of advice you require - spousal visa.

OK BRO.. Thanks a million

Your agent is leading you down the chambers of hell.

Run away from that suggestion. Run, as fast as your legs can carry you.
If you don’t have the necessary money, please make sure you do.
Besides, you practically want to sell your assists etc for uk school fees?
What kind of course do you want to study? And what is the profitability of that course?
Or your current employer in Nigeria has promised to begin paying you 1,000,000 naira per month after you return with a UK degree?
The truth is that my wife is a British citizen and she pregnant too.. She needs me to help her..she can't bring me in bcoz the work she does earns her £17,800 per year against the UK £18,600 requirement ..so we taught I should come through school.. She can't work extra shift right now to makeup bcoz of her condition ..Wat will be your advice

Your prospective school had 12,600 as tuition yeah? Great.
Have you PERSONALLY sat down to estimate how much it will cost you?
Maintenance
Air fares
Visa fees
IHS
Etc....

After you sell the property you wish to sell; will the amount you will realize be enough to pay for all the above?
@LaaJiblik thanks for your timely response
I could afford to raise the school fee, the air fee and visa fee too ...but my agent said that they could work out something with my bank to reflect the maintenance fee..but i dont know if banks can actually help their clients even if i have to pay..

To be honest, people do more than 20 hours but it is illegal and this thread preaches “legality”.

For someone just entering into a new city, you must not say such so that he does not end up thinking it will also be like that for him and it is even risky.

It worked out for your friends does not mean it will work that way for him. Trust me, I have lived here long enough and I know all the “runs” that is happening and still happens but you will never see me advicing such cos it is better they come to UK having the money with them than to think they will be able to do side or cash jobs and then get stranded if the jobs don’t come in.

If the side jobs or cash jobs comes in along the line, then good luck, but the advice should always be, come prepared with money.

@OlowoB..i greet you with so much respect..please am really new with this whole school tier 4 thing..

Hello knwuna, it's possible to sell your property to make up the financial requirement. But you 'll need copy of documents to show that the property was yours before the sale and receipt after the sale cos you 'll need to explain how the bulk amount got into your account so they don't think you boŕrowed the money as in scam.

In my case I had a house and some lands in IBADAN b4 work xferred me to Agbara. I sold the house last year November and the lands early this year so it was in my account for a while and I had agreement document and receipts for the sale.

My agent also drew up an introduction letter stating the sales and date and meanwhile I had even mentioned him in my form where i was asked for source of extra income or something like that.

I hope this is ok.

@ deebaby05..Have really digested all your wonderful advice..and thanks for taking your time out of your busy schedule to respond timely.

Is she working presently and earning something? Has she being in a salaried employment in the last 12 months? If yes, & If you have savings that can that make up the £18,600 or exceed it then you 'll need to add your statement of account to hers.if you have any huge amount that dropped into your account which will reflect in your statement, you 'll need to explain with proof how the money came about e.g. sale of property, rent etc

How much does she earn? 'She has rented he apartment' ? Is she now squatting? Does she work full time? Was it the pregnancy that lead to drop in wage and hours? Does she meet up all other application prerequisites?

Since she is British, you can wait till she gives birth and you apply via the 10 year route instead of the 5 year route. The 10-year route is for couples with children who don't meet the financial requirements.
ok thanks for the info.

My wife is kind of suggesting that she will acquire a loan from her bank to sponsor my masters program in Uk to enable stay closer to her during this period..Do you think its a good idea to do such please i need your opinion .
Note: She works full time,..she lives in a rented apartment..she is pregnant and she earns £17,800 per year which is less than £18,600 per year that is required. and she meets all other requirement..
We are just looking for a way out because she's alone

Congrats on the baby.... I was in the same shoe, as wife had to stop work while she was pregnant. We had no choice but to wait till she delivered, nursed the baby, get back to work for 6 months and now putting in the application. But if your wife does not earn up to £18,600 annually even before the pregnancy, you guys need to wait until she gets a job that meets that threshold, work for 6 months with the same employer, have a condusive accommodation for you guys and have well over #1m in savings to process your visa and run your application. I'm sorry, that looks harsh but there is no other way around it except she or you has an amount in savings combined with her annual income to meet up the threshold that you guys can defend. Then your application is good to go.

Thanks Phoenix77 for your advice
