Hello, US consular officer

My wife and I got married in a ceremony in the US. She is a permanent resident. After marriage and honeymoons, she filed an F2A for me, and I go back to my country (Nigeria, it is both our country of birth)

Now after months of wait, that NVC asks for supporting documents, my marital status is 'single'. I never thought of updating my status here since we got married in the US, and not here

Do I need to register our marriage here before getting supporting documents for NVC? Good day sir
