It depend on how deep the burns. Hot water burns are mostly 1st and 2nd degree burns. 3rd degree burns is the deepest of the burns and destroys both the iner and outer layers of the skin and requires skin grafts. Op's burns are likely 2nd degree burns.

So I went to a hospital this morning for proper treatment. The burns were cleaned thoroughly, dead skins removed, dermazin cream applied, and then gauze used to cover the burns. I also received tetanus injection and two other vaccines. Just like some people said, the application of GV was totally condemned by the doctor. It was cleaned off before treatment commenced. I'm to be going daily for 2-3 weeks for cleaning and dressing. Thanks everyone for your words of advice and encouragement.

My advice for you is:
Stop applying GV ink to your wounds. It makes the skin coarse making it difficult for the wound to heal properly. You can get dermazin cream. It works best for burn situations like this. Speaking of experience it works.

You didn't go a hospital, you went to a chemist shop who sold drugs to you. Trained medics would have peeled off the burnt skin, treated and dressed the wound. That's not a 3rd degree burn, you won't be needing skin grafts. However, thr burnt skin will need to be peeled off so you can apply antibiotics and other treatments to the wound and dress it. Go to a hospital and get proper treatment instead of a chemist shop.

I've already contacted someone. I'll be going to a private hospital tomorrow morning. Thanks for your advice
