Good morning everyone,
I’m reaching out to hear from others who have been through a similar situation. My application status shows “Eligibility Completed”, but I’ve been waiting for a long time now with no updates on the background check.
If you’ve experienced a long wait of 5 or more months after eligibility was completed, could you please share: How long your background check took after eligibility? What, if anything, you did to help move the process along (e.g., webform requests, MP inquiry, GCMS notes)?
Any advice or tips that helped you stay informed or get an update?
Your responses would really help and encourage those of us still waiting. Thank you in advance for sharing your experience! |

sade1994: I'm considering doing the same. But do you think it's advisable considering my application is almost 16 months and I got a PFL..? I'm scared I might be rejected. But there's no harm in trying sha since it's just 100 dollars for the application.
Sigh I just tire. 6lam Thanks for your response @sade No harm in trying i will advise you add all the proof you sent to them too when applying for TRV i guess our application is under review and to get response usually takes 18 months or more. |

6lam: You can look at going for a visit visa in the main time, I did the same and got approved after 2 weeks while still waiting for spousal sponsorship. Please can you give full details on what you use for proof of fund and documents you submitted during your application |

sade1994: We contacted a couple of lawyers in Canada and the amount they were asking were exorbitant.
So we had to do it ourself. We wrote the letter in response to pfl, attached all our pictures in a chronological order from when we met to our wedding , to the birth of our child. Attached exported WhatsApp chats from like 5 years ago till date, get two friends to write notarized attestation letter and even attached pictures with us at various events , attached proof of my husband visit to Nigeria, statement of account etc...
How did you do yours? Same here oo. I followed the same process gave them enough evidence. Thou my own is just proof of ongoing communication. |

Tylerpapaz: That’s not worrisome at all. The VO just needs to be convinced with further evidence of the relationship. Thank goodness it’s not a misrepresentation issue. You should get a response very soon. Hmmmm. I was actually worried when i saw the letter but i still thank God it's something i can actually deal with and allow God to perfect it 🙏 ijn How is your application going? |

Tylerpapaz: I think it’s within 30 days if the issue is not technical. If it’s a complex scenario it can take longer but if you don’t mind can you share what led to the PFL? According to them the proof i submitted for my relationship is not sufficient to proof that my relationship is not for immigration purposes. So i was asked to provide additional documents to proof my relationship. |

22ndthequeen: Hello All, A silent reader here and my timeline is similar to @maestro09 's
Got Married - Aug 2024. Submitted Application - Oct 8th but on IRCC portal, Oct 7th as it was done in the midnight. AOR - Nov 4th (Didn't get a mail but updated on the tracker) Biometrics Instruction : Nov 13th Submitted Biometrics at VFS Lagos: Nov 18th Eligibility Completed on Tracker : Nov 19th Pre Arrival Mail : Nov 21st Medical Instruction : Nov 22nd Did Medicals at Q-life Lagos : Dec 2nd Medicals Updated to Completed on Tracker : Dec 6th Background Verification Completed : Dec 17th Passport Request : Dec18th COPR Updated on Tracker : Dec 18th, though the date on it is Dec 6th. Submitted Passport at VFS London : Dec 19th Passport Ready for Collection : Dec 23rd Passport And COPR document Collection at vfs London : Dec 27th (Today)
Our process took Two months and honestly, I would say it's all God and grace.
We followed all the instructions during application; we gave them only ten pages of chat as requested...only WhatsApp chat actually. We submitted only 20 pictures as requested too. And again, this was all God.
I pray for everyone, that God will grant us all grace, favour and speed. Congrats. |
