I have several Opobo indigenes as friends including members of the Jaja Royal Family. When asked why they speak Igbo and not Ibani, they normaly answer 'nnem ezim nnam ezim, meaning my mum didn't teach me ,neigther did my father.How did Opobo start. Mazi Juboha (Jubaoha) a.k.a Jaja fought with his Igbo ark rival Oko Jumbo. Jumbo's camp defeated Jaja.jaja left bonny with his own followers,mainly igbos like him and some ijaw founded opobo. Will you deny that? I had several members of the jumbo family of bonny as clasmates and I can tell you this,there ancestor bu onye Igbo. Most people of bonny opobo(perhapse including you are igbo because the early kings graded their wealth based on how many Igbos worked for them. Am I lying? The only ijaw family I know of for now in bonny is the pepple family.
