This is something many believers think about but don’t always say out loud. We trust in God’s mercy, yet at the same time, we don’t want to misuse it. Scripture presents both truths clearly, God’s forgiveness is abundant, but it is not something to be taken lightly. Is There a Limit to God’s Forgiveness? The Bible shows that God is always ready to forgive anyone who truly repents. As it says in 1 John 1:9, when we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There is no fixed number attached to His forgiveness. God doesn’t keep score. His mercy is constant, and His grace is renewed day after day. At the same time, the Bible cautions against continuing in sin with the mindset that forgiveness will always cover it. Romans 6:1–2 makes this clear by asking whether we should keep sinning so that grace increases, and firmly answering no. This reminds us that grace isn’t meant to justify careless living. Instead, it is meant to change us from the inside out. The real issue is the condition of the heart. There’s a difference between someone who struggles with sin and someone who plans to sin. Many believers wrestle with recurring issues like anger, lust, pride, dishonesty, or fear. Falling doesn’t mean God has turned away from you. Figures like King David and Apostle Peter made serious mistakes, yet they repented and were restored. God understands human weakness. However, choosing to sin while assuming, “I’ll just ask for forgiveness later,” points to a hardened attitude. Hebrews 10:26 warns that persistent, willful sin without repentance creates distance from God—not because His mercy runs out, but because the heart becomes less responsive. Genuine repentance goes beyond words. It involves a sincere desire to change, even if that change happens gradually. Proverbs 24:16 tells us that the righteous may fall repeatedly, but they rise again. Getting back up means returning to God with humility, seeking not only forgiveness but also the strength to live differently. Jesus’ teachings reflect this balance. When He forgave, He often followed it with the instruction to leave sin behind (John 8:11). Forgiveness is immediate, but transformation is a journey. So, can someone keep sinning and still ask for forgiveness? Yes - if there is real repentance and a genuine effort to change. No - if forgiveness is being used as an excuse to continue in deliberate sin. God isn’t demanding perfection. He desires a heart that is honest, humble, and willing to grow. When you fall, don’t run from Him - run toward Him. But don’t remain where His grace is meant to help you move forward. |

This question lies at the core of the Christian faith and has been explored for generations: Is Jesus God, or is He the Son of God? At first glance, the answer may seem complex - even contradictory - but it carries a deep and powerful meaning once you understand it. Jesus as the Son of God Throughout the Bible, Jesus is consistently described as the Son of God. At His baptism, a voice from heaven proclaims: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). Jesus also spoke of God as His Father and regularly prayed to Him, revealing a genuine relationship between the Father and the Son. However, calling Jesus the “Son of God” doesn’t mean He was created or inferior, like human relationships between fathers and sons. In the Jewish context, the title “Son” often meant sharing the same nature. This is why religious leaders were troubled when Jesus used it - they recognized that He was claiming equality with God (John 5:18). Jesus as Fully God At the same time, the Bible clearly teaches that Jesus is divine. In John 1:1, it says: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” A few verses later, it becomes clear that this “Word” refers to Jesus. Jesus demonstrated divine authority by forgiving sins, receiving worship, calming storms, and raising the dead - actions associated with God alone. He also declared: “Before Abraham was born, I AM” (John 8:58), echoing God’s sacred name revealed in Exodus. After His resurrection, Thomas addressed Him as “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28), and Jesus did not correct him. Understanding Both Truths Christian teaching explains this through the concept of the Trinity: One God Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Jesus is not the Father, yet He fully shares in God’s divine nature. He is the eternal Son who took on human form to reveal God to humanity and bring salvation. Why It Matters If Jesus were only a moral teacher, His death would simply be a tragedy. But because He is God the Son, His sacrifice carries the power to forgive sins and offer eternal life. At the heart of Christianity is this truth: God Himself entered human history to rescue humanity. |
Imagine for a moment that you are going about your normal day when suddenly you find yourself standing face to face with Jesus Christ. There is no crowd, no noise, just you and Him. The One whose words shaped history, whose love transformed lives, and whose sacrifice changed eternity. What would you ask Him? Many people might immediately think of deep spiritual questions. Some would ask about heaven, eternity, or the mysteries of God. Others might ask personal questions about their life, purpose, or struggles. |
