pepericozi: Federal Government is yet to address the problem we have in this country and if it is not addressed, we will continue to witness chaotic situation in politics.
1. Once there is election and change in party i. e. change in government from APC to PDP or from PDP to APC, election of local government chairmen and counsellors should hold within six months of installing the new governor.
2. When the tenure of any governor ends, all elected local government chairmen and counsellors should go with the governor immediately.
3. The idea of conducting election of local government a year to the end of tenure of governors should stop forthwith.
4. A situation where we have PDP as governor and APC rulling the local government OR APC as governor and PDP running the local government should stop.
5. No elected governor will allow the people who worked for him during election to be shot out of governance. Hence, the reason for this mess.
Federal Government, our law makers, judiciary and all people concern should work towards achieving this within the shortest possible time. Hence, states will continue to witness this chaotic situation each time we have general election.
l submit. Just look at what you just wrote up there. I think you are one of those people who are screaming that APC wants to turn the country into one party system. Then why are you now of the support of a state being one party state? |

BabaIbo: This thread shows how em pty most Nigerians are.
The case has already been withdrawn, so what is the fuss?
Again, the poster is mischi evous with the headline.
I don't think this case has anything to do with the authenticity of the decamping of the lawmakers from PDP, rather it has more to do with the presentation of the 2024 budget to the other assembly members etc. Thank God you said that you think, not that you know 🤣🤣 |

richmond500: have seen comments of people who do not understand the case, here is what happened.
Governor Fubara had withdrawn the case yesterday against Martins Amewhule and others, by this withdrawal, it shows that the appeal court judgement that Amaewhule is the authentic speaker still stands and Fubara was fined N2m. You may want to ask why the governor withdraw the case? Ofcos now there is another case in federal high court in Rivers state following the defection of the speakers, Supreme court has nothing to do with this case, cos the case today was about authentic speaker and not defection. So in the coming days, expect the federal court to sack Amaewhule and his friends, and if this judgement happens, it automatically means the supreme court ruling will not be obeyed.
The case is far from over Go.amd and sit down my friend |

nevilbot: You actually didn't understand what you read. You read the headline and just reached a wrong conclusion without reading the body of the article.
Orji kalu wasn't appointed as the SEDC chairman, he was appointed as head of the senate committee to oversee the SEDC. the senate has many oversight committees to oversee govt ministries and commissions as part of carrying out their senate duties to monitor budget compliance and kalu was only made a chairman of the senate committee that will oversee the SEDC. the SEDC Still has its own chairman who is not a senate member and whose job is to handle the day to day running of the SEDC. Nice one 👍 Thanks for lecturing that guy. Thank very |

EhisChelsea1: I have been at the tribunal since Monday. I am right there now as I type this. It is quite unfortunate that APC people are not pushing their news out there.
This is a completely false narrative. ALL the PDP witnesses except for Adekunle Oboh from Esan Central were a joke. They made the case even more difficult for Asue and PDP. At a time, I had to ask one of the Lawyers, why the PDP counsel do not object to some questions from the respondent counsel and come to the rescue of their witnesses.
Apart from the proceedings being extremely boring, it’s a most pitiable situation for Asue and the PDP….. it’s very unfortunate that a wrong narrative is being pushed on nairaland to precondition people’s mind and set a wrong agenda
Imagine ALL the PDP witnesses coming before the tribunal to appeal that certain paragraphs IN THEIR STATEMENTS be expunged, because they ERRONEOUSLY ENTERED IT or that it was a typing error (whole paragraph - typing error)…. Or that, they append their signature to a result they are disputing or court discovering that, the documents submitted as evidence were NOT in existence as at the time the reports were made. We all know that PDP doesn't stand a chance |
