PoliticsAtiku Defeats Buhari At Ambode’s Ward by Kovuh(op):
The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has won the election at Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State ward, defeating President Muhammadu Buhari.

Aside the President, other APC candidates yesterday lost at the ward to their PDP counterparts. The governor was unable to deliver his ward as promised to the President as he was unable to influence the electorate in his ward to vote massively for him.

At Ambode’s Ward A5, polling unit 033, Ogunmodede College in Ajaganabe Area, Papa Epe, Buhari polled 131 votes as against People’s Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who polled 116 votes.

Ambode, however, could not deliver his ward for the party’s Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates.

Even with the win at his polling unit, the result at the ward announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC wards returning officers in Epe, it was revealed by that the governor could not deliver his ward to the party.

At the ward, the Collation officer disclosed that the APC presidential candidate polled 2367 as against the 2511 which Atiku had.

Also, the PDP senatorial candidate, Abiodun Oyefusi, defeated the APC candidate, Bayo Oshinowo, by 71 votes, which was PDP 2557 and APC 2488.

The PDP candidate vying for the House of representatives seat, Oye Ayantuga, also won the governor’s ward, polling 2597 while Wale Raji, the APC candidate had 2438 votes after the election.

Meanwhile, Atiku could not sustain the momentum as he could only win another ward, Lagbade ward 2, increasing it to two out of the 19 wards under Epe Federal Constituency.

At ward 2, the PDP presidential and other candidates polled more votes than their APC counterparts.

PoliticsMan Allegedly Killed At Okota Not Our Member – OPC by Kovuh(op):
Publicity Secretary of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Barrister Yinka Oguntimehin, said the man allegedly killed by the mob yesterday, at Okota, Lagos, is not a member of the Aare Gani Adams – led members of the OPC.

In a statement made available to journalists on Sunday, Oguntimehin dismissed the report that a member of the group was lynched to death following an attempt by some hoodlums to truncate the election process in Okota, Lagos.

He said the report at his disposal indicated that a member of the late Faseun’s group was killed by an irate mob, following an attempt by some thugs to disrupt election process at the Okota area of Lagos state.
