Arewa Youths Integrity Network (AYIN): This group expressed disappointment over the appointment of another Yoruba individual to a significant position, emphasizing that northerners are equally qualified for such roles. They urged President Tinubu to ensure that appointments reflect Nigeria's diversity and adhere to the federal character principle.

Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN): The NYCN criticized the regional imbalance in security-related appointments, pointing out that positions like the Chief of Army Staff, Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), and Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are held by individuals from the South-West. They warned that such regional favoritism could undermine national unity.

Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA): HURIWA raised concerns about what it perceives as ethnocentric governance, highlighting that key positions in finance, security, and information technology are dominated by South-Westerners. The group called on President Tinubu to reassess his appointment strategy to ensure more inclusive representation.



These groups have collectively urged President Tinubu to reconsider his appointment strategies to promote inclusivity and uphold the federal character principle, which mandates fair representation of all regions in federal positions. They emphasize that a balanced approach is crucial for fostering national unity and trust in the government's commitment to equitable governance.

As of now, there has been no official response from President Tinubu regarding these allegations.
