According to a report by Barrister Jefferson Uwoghiren, who has been on the case since the video of the lady being tortured went viral, the man was arrested on Wednesday evening, along with the manager of a hotel he lodged briefly in Benin City, Edo state.

In his report, Uwoghiren stated that the prime suspect who had been with the said lady, had complained about a missing phone. He then forced the victim to a native doctor around Ugbiyokho area of Ekehuan Road, Benin City, to determine if she was guilty or not.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has expressed its intention to resume the trial of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen over alleged non-declaration of assets.

This followed the ruling of the Court of Appeal in Abuja yesterday refusing the application by the embattled CJN seeking to stay the proceedings of the tribunal.

The spokesperson of the CCT, Ibraheem Al-Hassan, told our reporter yesterday that the chairman of the tribunal, Danladi Umar was aware of the decision of the appellate court which meant that the tribunal could continue with the trial.

He, however, said as at yesterday, the tribunal was yet to fix a new date for the trial to continue, adding that the decision would be made soon and properly communicated to all the parties involved.

The tribunal chairman in adjourning the trial indefinitely on Monday had held that “In view of the order of the Court of Appeal to stay proceedings, I have the respect for the Court of Appeal, I hereby adjourn the matter sine die pending the determination of the case at the Court of Appeal.”

As Atiku VP he is expected to give PDP a lock down 10001% votes in Anambra State without anyone being voided despite Anambra being an APGA State. If he fails in this expectation especially from his state it will not make up with his political Value where Atiku Abubakar is.*

Away from Anambra State the Ipob factor, Marginalisation of the Igbo's, Buharis lopsided appointments has given Mr Peter Obi a good campaign key points to lock down the votes of Ebonyi, Abia, Imo & Enugu States.

Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo said on Wednesday three people had passed on of Lassa fever while seven others were hospitalized.

A man identified as Mr Mike Akwaja was allegedly shot and butchered by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Gbor Igyo in Mbagwen in Benue state.

According to reports, two women were also killed by the suspected herdsmen during the attack as they died on the spot.
