If you dont feel confident driving yourself in a rental van, and you don't have approx. £2k to pay established removals companies, you can go to Shiply.com and post your request there and independent companies will quote on your job for you. I've used the place myself for a move and just last month I arranged for a relation who paid £310 to move her household contents (2 bedroom property) door to door from Dundee to London. Quotes will naturally vary depending on the shipper and what you have to transport.

If you do decide to go with a mover instead of driving yourself, its helpful to pack up your stuff in cardboard boxes or moving bags with standard dimensions because that is what movers will ask for to enable them give you quotes. I used moving bags (Veno brand, try Amazon) and sent them to my cousin used to reuse for her move. I found at the time that the more standardised your load, the lower your prices were likely to be (don't know if this is still the case).
I will try this. Thank you so much 😊

If you have a driving licence and are confident, you could explore the option of renting a van from Arnold Clark or any rental and drive yourself.

Or you could rent a van and get someone to drive as well.

Either option would typically be cheaper than getting a moving company.
Yes but I don’t have a driving license ☹️☹️

I would be moving home from England to Scotland.

Thank you.
