PhonesRe: Top 7 Things That Actually Matter When Buying A Smartphone (2026 Priority Order) by Kuminga: 4:19pm On Apr 29
DrMB:
Are you about to drop serious money on a new phone just because the marketing said "200 Megapixels" or "Gaming Edition"?
Don’t get hyped; get informed. By 2026, the game has changed completely. A massive RAM number won't save you if the foundation is weak, and a fast charger doesn't make a slow phone better.
Do you know what actually makes a phone fast and future-proof in 2026? We’re ranking the essentials, and #1 is non-negotiable.
Read our priority guide, and let's get you the real value you deserve.
What is the single most important spec you look for when buying a new phone, and why?

Interesting, I remember using tecno pourvoir 3 air, years ago, it was a 1 gig ram phone and it lagged like m@d.... Since then, I always consider the ram of the phone I want to purchase first...

Depends on what the laptop is for. Like basic tasks and browsing you should get a core i5 4th gen for like 100 to 120k with probably 8gig, 256gig HDD maybe win 10 with short battery life. Use the balance buy a UK used Samsung like S8 or S9 which can still last for 2 years.

When money comes, you can begin to upgrade the laptop by additional RAM, change to SSD, buy new battery or outright sell and buy something higher
This sounds feasible.... Though the laptop I need is something I can use for my tech journey... I'll check the price for UK Used Samsung S8 or S9.....

Thank you Chief

In economics this is called scale of preference...

You have to for go one for the other. But no one except you can answer the question of which is more important to your personal needs!
Yeah..... I want to get the laptop and then fix my current phone, I don't know if I'll get a good laptop for that amount though
