TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Kwati:
@kentdealer, so sorry to hear about your refusal.
I think one thing to look out according to the refusal letter is your disposal income and cost of the planned trip.
Looking at the documents you listed it shows that you can afford the trip with ease; however, it looks like the ECO seems to be concerned you planned to spend more than 6 months of your disposal income for the trip.
May be it's something for you to double check also.

Mak16788:
Congratulations. what documents din you submit for your parents?
Hello, thanks for the congratulatory message.
My dad and FIL are both employed so I provided the following documents for each of them:
1. Letter from their employers affirming their employment, which stated date of employment, salary, and position
2. 1 month Payslip for my dad (no payslip for my FIL)
3. Visa letter from my UK bank (confirming I am a customer, my address, date I opened the account, current balance, and minimum balance in the last 28 days)
4. My last 3 month employment payslips
5. Passports
6. UK Council tax and utility bills
7. Photograph of me and my dad
8. My wedding certificate and wedding picture of my with my FIL & MIL
9. Invitation letter
10. Sponsor cover letter, explaining the reason for the trip, with a breakdown of 2M Naira budget for each person that will cover return flight, maintenance, local inter-city travel, and miscellaneous; without accommodation cause I will accommodate them.
11. Immigration share code

As for my MIL, she is unemployed and does not own any business. Her only source of income is funds from family and friends, so for her application I included all the documents above without an employment letter and payslip.

Note: No bank statement was submitted by me or any of them (only submitted my visa bank letter and my evidence of employment income).

Thanks.

Hi Nairaland family, I need some guidance, please.
To sponsor someone for a UK visitor visa, can I use my UK bank letter only as the "evidence of funds available to you" or it must be my bank statement, please?
Also, must the person I want to sponsor provide his bank statement or my bank letter/statement alone is sufficient enough as evidence of funds, please for the person's visitor visa application?

Thank you.
