The year Samuel Eto'O won the award ahead of Austin Okocha they said Eto O won bc he won trophies for both club and country even though Okocha was superlative at club level scoring goals and making assists just like Yaya. I blieve based on that assertion Mikel deserved it cos he equally won trophies for both club and country something Yaya never achieved.
It was a Francophone Gang up if u ask me. How many players from Anglophone Africa have won that award in the last 15yrs.

ajasa4link: U see, let me school u. In Nigeria, we have artist who do indigenous rap and artists who do the real hip-hop. In the indigenous rap category, that's where we have artists like phyno, olamide,reminisce etc. These crop of rappers are much appreciated by people who understand and speak the native languages. In the real mainstream hip-hop category we have great rappers like m.i, modenine, Jesse jagz e.t.c. These are greatly appreciated by real hip-hop heads around the world. U see,the difference between Ghana and Nigeria is we don't jump on social networks and start calling our indigenous rappers the best in Africa. The truth is,if sarkodie was a Nigerian he will just be one of the indigenous rappers and nothing more than that. My guy,when it comes to music industry, u guys are still behind Nigeria very much.In short,the gulf between us is wide o.

ajasa4link: Those u mentioned are singing and not rapping. Damn! Rap is best enjoyed when u understand the rapper's language. Would u call eminem a d.o.p e rapper even though u don't understand English? of course not. because u won't be able to understand his wordplay, punchline, metaphor e.t.c same applies to Sarkodie in this scenario

Can't u see his new album Sarkology features mostly Nigerian artistes? He himself said its a Nigerian album, so what does dat tell u? Nigerians are the most talented people in Africa and no amount of jealousy from 3rd world nations like Ghana can change that. Phyno and Olamide will murder him talk more of MI Modo or Vector. Sarkodie only has flow and he doesn't speak English. Till he starts rapping in English, u don't have any case. In case u don't know, Sarkodie's market has started dropping here in Naija, the hottest acts in rap now are Phyno & Olamide. Sarkodie is good but he will only be a rap messiah only in Ghana.
