Rolling out of updates doesn’t lead to new phone sales, some carriers don’t offer updates in any reasonable amount of
time, or sometimes not at all.So i'm not sure Tecno will release any update,Samsung does release as they like because they already have large markets,but still won't release as customers want as you know some model were stocked at a certain firmware,so we must find custom roms for our Tecno device.

Coolstan: My phantom A was stolen 2days ago at orile along lagos-badagry expressway but i don't really want to go into details. I have toyed around with a friends phantom A+ too and i think i'll buy it.
Eroot works fine one the A+. Used it to root the device.
It has an updated quadcore chip. All the apps and games i threw at the device ran smoothly and flawlessly without any lags.
It has hspa+ which is an improvement to the normal hspa on the phantom A.
Funny enough the model number for the A+ is still F7.

So the A+ is only on the pack?
Please have you tried Fifa 12 on it?i ll like u to help me find out thanks

Blewusi: Lol. I told you I used be a Tecno fan and I bought several Tecno phones. And this is my first time of buying a Samsung phone and I've seen the difference. So I'm only here to share my experience so that my fellow Tecno fans will put some PRESSURE on Tecno to at least provide software updates for their phones. If they can't do it via OTA , at least they should do it MANUALLY by asking their customers to bring their phones to the service centre for a manual software update if there's a problem, instead of releasing new phones. This Indian company MICROMAX started by giving MANUAL SOFTWARE UPDATES for their phones. And a couple of weeks ago, they (Micromax) said they'll start giving OTA updates in India. And they're giving Samsung a run for their money in India. I love Tecno as much as you do. My FIRST dual SIM phone was a Tecno phone. I just want them to do the RIGHT THING so that I can come back to them. If they see a DROP in their sale, I guess they'll SIT UP.

1)It can't be the mt6577 because it is a dual core chip,Mt 6589 is a quad core chip so find ur info well.
2)And ur vowney,when faulty take it down to china or repair it via OTG.

From Gingerbread 2.3.5 to Honeycomb 3.0 to ICS 4.04 and now Jelly Bean 4.2.2. Hasn't Samsung done very well supporting S2 for the past two (2) years? This is another link showing S2 is currently running on Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and those who don't want to wait for the official upgrade (OTA) to 4.2.2 can do so MANUALLY.

You saw tecno specifications before you bought it, so why complaining of lack of OTA, OLD CPU/GPU, etc. I saw tecno f7 specifications and when it doesn't suit my needs, i look elsewhere... That is, i have choice and i made it. Stop whining if you don't like any phone, they don't force you to buy it.

Don't mind them,some people don't get work than to spoil someones hand work that's why they never succeed,leave people to get their choice or is it because Tecno is selling.

Samsung galaxy s4 has 5 different versions with different chips, core, gpu, lte, and so on... What about Sony? Or HTC? All of them are the same. Samsung in particular launches new phone every month, the only advantage they have is OTA, which I'm very sure tecno will come up with soon. You can't expect them to launch only one phone a year in a market where there is fierce competition. Buy phone that suits your needs, enjoy it. Don't buy phone because people are buying it, look for what you like and go for it.

Blewusi: This is what I said some time ago and Tecno fans descended on me. They claim Tecno is CHEAPER and Samsung is MILKING them dry. In January this year, Tecno released N7. People complained of LOW RAM. Then they came out with PHANTOM A. Once again, some people complained of the battery. Instead of Tecno asking their customers to bring their phones to the service centre to UPDATE them MANUALLY (since they cannot do that via OTA), they chose to release a new phone: PHANTOM A+. Add the price of Phantom A and Phantom A+, is it not more than the price of Samsung mid range phones like Galaxy Grand Duos? Yet Samsung has never ABANDONED their customers the way Tecno does. Grand Duos was also released in January this year, and it has received SOFTWARE UPDATES to fix bugs. And the latest update for Grand Duos is Android 4.2.2. Phantom A+ has come with Android 4.2.1. In three months time, Tecno will release Phantom B running on Android 4.2.2. So who's milking its customers dry? Is Samsung or Tecno?

Pointless article,does samsung not upgrade their products and the OTA issue i think does who want that should not buy Tecno but don't be suprised if they start to get update anytime.
