European countries to study nursing

More affordable. In demand.

Try Canada express entry then study nursing if successful

USA ..not very realistic for non citizens

Uk not very realistic for non citizens even if studies are done there

EducationRe: Between Sponsoring My Wife's Nursing Career To The UK Or Enroll For Msc In UK? by Laird(m):
uvie66:
.... especially with generic course like construction. Sponsorship is like gold now. I personally know two that have done their masters in the UK here but are being forced to go back to Nigeria because there are no sponsors.
Even Doctors from Naija who have spent millions and passed UK foreign medical practice exams have not yet gotten jobs at at today February 2026

Let him go for nursing himself if he wants to improve his chances. I heard some schools in UK have 2 year nursing conversion programs but even if he finds a cheap schoo, nursing requires thousands of hours of clinical placement. Host countries prioritize their citizens for these hospital slots. Foreigners might be delayed from graduating because they cannot secure a clinical rotation.

Financial Risk (The Capital Burn): UK international tuition for a 2-year MSc Nursing program averages £16,000 to £25,000 per year. Add £15,000 a year for UK Home Office mandated living expenses. The total capital required is roughly £60,000 to £80,000 (approx. 120 to 160 Million Naira). The ops migration refund might not cover it

If the man is absolutely dead-set on nursing as an international escape route, abandon the UK student pathway immediately. It is a financial trap

Best option.

1)

The Alternative: Use 5 to 15 Million to enroll in an Accelerated BSN in the Philippines or India.
The Logic: Tuition and cost of living in Southeast Asia are a fraction of the UK. The programs are strictly tailored to pass the US NCLEX exam.
The Result: Instead of paying £80,000 for a UK student visa to earn £29k, you pay peanuts for the degree, pass the NCLEX, and get an EB-3 Direct Hire Green Card to the USA, where starting nursing salaries are $75,000+ (approx. ₦120 Million/year).
Or

The "Accelerated" Delusion: Accelerated 2-year BSN programs (like in the US or UK) are designed for domestic citizens. International student slots are incredibly rare, highly competitive, and command absolute premium tuition rates (often exceeding $40,000 to £60,000 total).
The Clinical Placement Blockade: Even if they find a cheap degree, nursing requires thousands of hours of clinical placement. Host countries prioritize their citizens for these hospital slots. Foreigners are often delayed from graduating because they cannot secure a clinical rotation.
The Non-Medical BSc Irrelevance: A Nigerian BSc in sociology, engineering, or accounting means absolutely nothing to a Western nursing board. They will be forced to start from scratch, making a 2-year timeline impossible.

Option A: The German "Ausbildung" (Apprenticeship) Protocol
The Strategy: Germany has a catastrophic nursing shortage. They offer a 3-year vocational nursing program (Pflegefachmann/frau).
The Cost: Zero tuition. In fact, the German government/hospital pays the student a monthly salary of roughly €1,200 to €1,400 to study and work on the wards. It leads directly to permanent residency.
The Catch (The Language Tax): Op must spend the next 6 to 9 months aggressively studying German in Nigeria until he passed the B2 Level Goethe/Telc exam. No B2 German, no visa.

Remember German embassy during visa application might ask for some funds to be put in a blocked account in Germany not Naija before travel( just to be sure you have some money for yourself on arrival ) for upkeep..

Option B: The Philippine "EB-3" Pipeline
The Strategy: Enroll in an accelerated 2nd-degree BSN in the Philippines.
The Cost: Tuition and living costs in the Philippines are a tiny fraction of Western costs.
The Catch (The Exit Strategy): There is zero post-study work in the Philippines. The only reason to do this is to utilize their cheap education system, immediately pass the US NCLEX exam (which can be taken in Manila), and apply for a US EB-3 Direct Hire Green Card. US hospitals aggressively recruit NCLEX-passers from the Philippines and will sponsor the immigrant visa.
Also remember trump has currently blocked many travel or work permit visas from Nigerian Passport holders to America

Germany appears cheaper and more stable. You and your wife can both learn the language and apply separately...as a hedge. My thought

I respectfully disagree. Unemployed Nigerian graduates are not automatically incompetent — the core issue is structural, not intellectual. Nigeria simply does not create enough quality jobs to absorb the volume of graduates each year. That’s an economic imbalance, not a talent deficit.
Yes, R&grin spending is low compared to countries like the United States or Germany, and the country relies heavily on imports. But that reflects policy, capital, and infrastructure gaps — not lack of ability.
Nigerians have built companies like Flutterwave and Paystack, and many excel abroad in the United Kingdom and the United States. This Countries don’t hire incompetence.
The real problem is environment — funding, infrastructure, and policy — not just the competence of Nigerian graduates.

Richarlison640:
I see where you’re coming from, but I think this paints too bleak a picture. While it’s true that some interviews lack preparation and systems have challenges, saying only 15–20% of people are employable underestimates the talent out there. Many Nigerians are highly skilled, innovative, and resourceful — we have engineers, entrepreneurs, artists, and professionals making global impact.
Nigeria might not be top 20 in electricity generation or car purchases, but these metrics don’t capture the full story of human potential or economic ingenuity. The “vibes” you mention often reflect resilience, creativity, and adaptability in a system that doesn’t always reward effort. There are many eager candidates doing impressive work quietly; they just might not fit the conventional mold or have access to all opportunities.
In short, I think reality is harsh, but it’s not devoid of smart, capable people — maybe they’re just harder to spot.
You see Nigerian Politicians do a lot of image laundering but image laundering is not reality.
How much does Nigerian spend on research or science education in a year.
We told the world bla bla bla for years but the data don't add up
Are you aware most medication and software and essential equipment used in Nigeria are imported.
How many innovative people do we produce every year
If we have so many. Many expatriates would not need to be employed.
If we have so many. Many Nigerian projects would not be given to foreign firms
The irony is that the few smart ones are engaged in business or are with with medium or large firms or have relocated.

NoI get where you’re coming from, but I think saying graduates are unemployable is too sweeping. While some may lack certain practical skills, many are capable, motivated, and quick learners when given the right opportunities and guidance. I believe the issue isn’t just the graduates themselves—it’s also about how education, training, and the work environment align with real-world demands. Blaming graduates entirely overlooks the role of mentorship, workplace culture, and systemic support in shaping employability.
People that are employable are like 15 to 20%

People come for interviews without cvs. Some message Hi to apply for jobs. Some just message; I am asking about the job. Some obscure or do not divulge essential information

Vibes is different from reality.

Nigeria calls itself the Giant of Africa

But is not among the top 30 generators of
Electricity in the World

Is not among the top 20 buyers of new cars in the world

Is. Not among the top 20 music consumer markets in the world

Is not even among the top importer's from China

Or top countries with house ownership by indigenes

Reality is different from hype and Hope

The smart ones have something doing

Yes it's a failed system but when You see a good eager candidate ( You know when You see ) but they are not many

My organization can’t accommodate everyone, but thankfully there are many other organizations. Sometimes I wonder if you’ve actually attended interviews — for a vacancy that only requires 4 people, you’ll see hundreds of applicants competing for the same job. I really doubt that you fully understand the situation happening in Nigeria.
There are jobs in Nigeria that expatriates are brought in and paid money to run.. There are still Areas looking for workers with all the doom and gloom
If You had been interviewing people, You would understand that basic initiative is not common.

I used to think like You and get angry when Okonjo Iweala said over 20 years ago that a lot of graduates are unemployable. Now I understand that from practical experience.

It’s not about being ignorant. You made it sound like they’re supposed to be robots — you ask a question and they give exact answers instantly. People forget things sometimes. Some of those questions are topics they learned a long time ago, maybe even from a lazy lecturer who didn’t teach them properly. We’re all bound to forget things. Some people can’t even remember what they ate last Saturday morning, let alone something they were taught months or years ago. So it’s not fair to judge them based on that.
No problems. I hand them over to You to employ in your firm and show competence to your customers.

Please doctors in the house is there a cure for nocturnal epilepsy?

I have a pretty girl, we started dating 8 months ago, this girl is everything I need in a woman, she is neat, cooks well and humble, so perfect to my taste but she is epileptic.

I have been inviting her to my house for over 5months for her to sleep over in my apartment but she keeps refusing, telling me she has a problem then I later promised her whatever the problem is that I wouldn't abadon her.

She finally came on friday, we ate together and later in the night at 22:38 she started having epilepsy and after about 45mins she woke up and started crying, she told me she has been suffering from epilepsy since Feb 2019 but she hasn't been to the hospital due to financial issues.

So please can we find drug for nocturnal epilepsy, it happens to her only at night like 30 to 35mins in her sleep.
My apologies but this is called a bait and switch strategy.

Why not be upfront from.the start about human challenges

There are actually a lot of unemployable graduates in Nigeria. People who school literally passed through them. Being a graduate is not as relevant as the skill or actual knowledge you possess. How many so-called graduates can defend their certificates when push comes to shove?
Some one told Me he was a graduate of electronics engineering either Ond or Hnd or bsc but could not tell Me what resistance was ( A secondary school physics question)

Another told.me he was a graduate of automobile engineering Ond but could not tell Me what velocity was ( A secondary school physics question)

Many people claim to be graduates but cannot answer very basic questions about what they studied.
Many of the best brains have relocated or are occupied

Respectfully majority of the MOST VALUED COMPANIES IN THE WORLD AND IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES DEAL WITH HIGH VALUE SERVICES AND HAVE PASSED NIGERIA'S STAGE WHERE NIGERIA'S TOP MOST VALUABLE COMPANIES PROVIDE RAW MATERIALS AND BASIC NETWORKING AND INFRASTRUCTURE THAT IS FOOD,CEMENT, COMMUNICATION AND ENERGY AND BANKING AND ELECTRICITY

MOST BANKING IN NIGERIA MOBILISES DEPOSITS FROM THE MASSES TO LEND GOVERNMENT AND MEGA BILLIONAIRES AND MEGA CORPORATIONS AND MAKING MONEY FROM CHARGES, THE MASSES DONT REALLY HAVE ACCESS TO LONG TERM BUSINESS LOANS SO THE BANKING SYSTEM DOES NOT HAVE TOO MUCH WEALTH ECONOMIC VALUE FOR THE MASSES

THE DEVELOPED WORLD HAVE MOST OF THEIR TOP MOST VALUED COMPANIES BUILDING ON INNOVATION AND HIGH VALUE TECHNOLOGY NOT RAW MATERIALS AND BASIC NETWOKKINJG AND ESSENTIALS LIKE FOOD OILM CEMENT, COMMUNICATION, BANKING

PLEASE NOTE THAT ARAMCO IS THE GOVERNMENT OF SAUDI ARABIAS OIL COMPANY AND CONTROLS A MAJOR PART OF THE OIL RESOURCES IN THEIR COUNTRY (THEIR OWN NNPC ) SO IT IS ON THE LIST BUT IT IS NOT A PRIVATE COMPANY,
