PoliticsI Will Switch To SDP If Obi Joins Party – Onyema by Lalasdiva(op): 10:42am On Jan 24
A staunch member of the Labour Party in Enugu State, Chief Ogochukwu Onyema, has hinted that he might switch over to to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) should the former LP presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi move over to the party.

Onyema, a former senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu West, described the SDP as an “emerging party.”

He disclosed this during an interview in Enugu, saying that the party has a constitution that does not allow its members to go to court.

The Ohanaeze chieftain used the opportunity to applaud Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu State over his vis giant strides, saying that he is doing well.

He described Mbah as his friend because he has the same proactive disposition like himself and lauded him for many development projects he has embarked on.

He described Mbah as a proactive leader and lauded his leadership style and choice of projects. “If you want me to tell you about His Excellency, Ndubisi Mbah, I say to you that whoever does the way I do, I’ll call my good friend. I admire his leadership style and each time I see his choice of projects, I smile within myself. I say this is a proactive man. This man is a man of strategic thinking. This is a man that is futuristic,” he praised.

“I was in PDP when we won the election that produced Peter Mbah and I said I am leaving PDP. I said they should not give me an appointment, let me chart my own course,” he said.

Onyema who would not overtly disclose his ambition for 2027 said that he was disappointed several times in PDP when he unsuccessfully tried thrice to go to the House of Representatives as well as Senate to no avail, without securing nomination to consummate his ambition.

PoliticsJust In: 36 ADC State Chairmen Meet With H.E. Mr. Peter Obi In Abuja by Lalasdiva(op): 11:00pm On Jan 23
The Kebbi State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Engr. Sufiyanu Bala, was among the thirty-six (36) State Chairmen of the party and the Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) who were invited by His Excellency, Dr. Peter Obi, to his office in Abuja for a high-level consultative meeting.

The engagement served as a strategic forum for in-depth deliberations on critical national and state-level development challenges, drawing from grassroots realities across the Federation. Participants reviewed Nigeria’s prevailing socio-economic and political conditions and explored practical, people-centered solutions rooted in good governance, accountability, and inclusive development.

A significant portion of the discussions focused on repositioning and strengthening the ADC as a formidable national political platform. Key areas examined included institutional party reforms, capacity building at ward and state levels, enhanced grassroots mobilization, increased youth and women participation, and the entrenchment of transparent internal democratic processes to build public trust and credibility.

In his remarks, Dr. Peter Obi emphasized the importance of discipline, integrity, transparency, accountability, and people-oriented leadership as the core values that must define the ADC at all levels. He urged party leaders to embrace issue-based politics, reject ethnicity- and patronage-driven politics, and consistently prioritize the welfare, dignity, and aspirations of Nigerians above personal or sectional interests.

Speaking collectively, the ADC State Chairmen reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to party unity, internal democracy, strategic collaboration, and ideological clarity. They pledged to work together to build a strong, credible, and nationally acceptable political alternative capable of addressing Nigeria’s developmental challenges.

The meeting concluded on a note of renewed optimism and shared resolve, with participants agreeing to intensify efforts toward expanding the ADC’s national footprint and positioning the party as a trusted vehicle for sustainable development, economic transformation, social justice, and national renewal.

PoliticsGod Will Not Allow Obi Become Nigeria’s President Now And Ever – Fani Kayode by Lalasdiva(op): 10:54pm On Jan 22
"God will not allow Obi become Nigeria’s president now and ever" – Fani Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation and prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode, has launched a blistering verbal attack on Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, declaring that Obi will never become Nigeria’s president.

In a strongly worded statement shared via his official platforms, Fani-Kayode dismissed Obi’s political relevance, questioned his competence, and accused him of misleading supporters through social media propaganda.

According to Fani-Kayode, Peter Obi is not worthy of engagement by serious political actors, insisting that no credible presidential candidate would ever debate or directly respond to him.

“You don’t respond to comments of presidential spokespersons because you are a mannerless dunce with low self-esteem and you have no answers,” he wrote.

He went further to argue that placing Peter Obi in the same political bracket as leading figures such as Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Asiwaju), Atiku Abubakar (Waziri), or Rabiu Kwankwaso would be deeply insulting.

“Asiwaju to Waziri to Kwankwaso I can see, but to add an Obi to that list in a public debate or discussion would be a grave insult,” Fani-Kayode stated.

The former minister also mocked Obi’s public persona, claiming he is better known for marketing consumer goods than offering meaningful policy ideas.

“Who the hell is he and what does he know about anything other than misleading his gullible followers on social media and selling tomato puree, Bournvita and toothpaste?” he asked.

Fani-Kayode further asserted that Obi would struggle in any serious political debate, even against campaign spokespersons of rival parties.

“He would not last five minutes in a debate with ANY of our presidential spokespersons, and even Kwankwaso’s and Atiku’s would give him a hard time.”

Describing Obi as arrogant and deceitful, he labeled the former Anambra State governor a “charlatan” and a “modern-day wannabe.

PoliticsAPC Is Planning To Stop Peter Obi By All Means by Lalasdiva(op): 11:24pm On Jan 08
INSIDER REPORT

There are alleged plans within the APC-led government to ensure that Peter Obi does not secure either the presidential or vice-presidential ticket on the ADC platform.

A high-level meeting reportedly held last night where this strategy was openly discussed. According to insiders, APC power brokers believe that any ticket featuring Peter Obi, whether as presidential or vice-presidential candidate would be extremely difficult to defeat, especially when weighed against the combined electoral strength of Obi’s over 6 million votes and Atiku’s 6 million+ votes, alongside growing nationwide dissatisfaction with the APC administration.

Within that assessment, the conclusion was clear: an Obi-led or Obi-backed ticket represents a political dead end for the APC.
As a counter-strategy, plans are allegedly underway to push high-value political defectors into the ADC, with the sole aim of manipulating and fracturing the party’s primaries.

These individuals are expected to declare presidential ambitions within the ADC to dilute consensus and derail Obi’s path to the ticket.

Billions of naira are reportedly being earmarked for the execution of this plan. As always in Nigerian politics, money, lots of it, is the primary weapon.

Whether this strategy succeeds or collapses under its own weight remains to be seen. Only time will tell.

PoliticsAn Open Letter To Mr Peter Obi By Muslim Rights Concern, Muric by Lalasdiva(op): 12:53pm On Jan 03
Dear Mr. Peter Obi,

“We commend you for your bold actions, your diligence and your resilience in the Nigerian political arena. Your defection to the African Democratic Congress yesterday, Friday, 2nd January, 2026 marks another turning point in what God has done in your life.

“As the race for the 2027 general elections began earlier than expected, Nigerians have once again been awakened to their civic responsibilities. In the process, we have noticed a flurry of political activities particularly your defection to the ADC yesterday and we believe that we should open a dialogue window with you.*

As the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election and a Christian, it is natural that you are a person of notable interest. It is therefore our keen desire to put our position clearly to you ab initio for mutual understanding.

It is also our wish to know your disposition towards Nigerian Muslims and the wishes of the latter. This is important in furtherance of a robust national conversation as well as to keep faith with our avowed motto in MURIC, namely, ‘Dialogue, No Violence’.

We are open, liberal and accommodating. We believe that the Nigerian project requires collaboration between people of all faiths while leadership position is not the exclusive right of people of any particular faith. In addition, we also believe that the people of the South East, like all other ethnicities, deserve the key to Aso Rock.*

We are paying attention to those who are likely to emerge as candidates in the coming elections in 2027 for similar engagements because the Muslim Rights Concern is concerned with the fate and welfare of Nigerian Muslims. Hence our interest in your person and your ambition to become the president of this country.

Our demands are encapsulated in these three areas: proportionate representation, equal rights and freedom of religion. There is no gainsaying the fact that Muslims have a significant percentage of the Nigerian population. We also possess qualified men and women, persons of pedigree and people of unquestionable integrity. We will therefore expect adequate and meaningful inclusion in appointments.

In the same vein, we wish to bring to your attention certain issues bordering on equal rights and parity. These are things that Nigerian Christians are enjoying but which are denied Muslims. An example is our demand for the declaration of the first day of the Islamic new year as a public holiday like 1st January of every year. We will like to know your position on this and such matters.*

Finally, we need the assurance that 2027 will be pure political exercise devoid of any reference to ‘religious war’. It is our strong belief that ‘Daddy’ alone cannot open the gates of Aso Rock for you, but with the support of Nigerian Muslims, including that of ‘Daddy’, your dream has a good chance of becoming a fait accompli.

“We can confirm authoritatively that Nigerian Muslims still nurse certain misgivings about you because of the above reason. We therefore demand a public statement stating what your relationship with Nigerian Muslims will be if you become president. How will you treat us?*

It is important to let you know that MURIC is not allergic to Nigeria having a Christian president. What we are interested in is merit, competence, integrity, justice and fairness. But above all, we will not support a candidate who will encroach on Allah-given fundamental rights of Muslims.

“Nigerian Muslims anxiously await your reaction. We believe that the worst families are those who bottle up their feelings about one another. We have leveraged on the connectivity provided by the media to pour out our feelings to you with the hope that the Fourth Estate of the Realm will graciously oblige by taking our message to you and to the good Nigerian people as well.

“Please accept the honour of our highest esteem.

Thank you.”

PoliticsAtiku Excited, Welcomes Peter Obi To ADC by Lalasdiva(op): 3:45pm On Jan 02
OBI, ADC, AND THE HARD REALITY OF PARTY POWER

People often ignore a brutal truth about Nigerian politics: structure defeats popularity. Atiku Abubakar does not merely have name recognition; he commands the party executives, delegates, funding pipelines, and internal decision-making machinery. These factors, not public sentiment, determine who gets the ticket.
The uncomfortable reality is this: Peter Obi may struggle to succeed in the ADC without Atiku’s support.
Not because Obi lacks grassroots appeal, but because Nigerian elections are rarely won by popularity alone. Every party Obi aligns with must confront one decisive question:

Who controls the structure, the delegates, and the nomination process?
Without that control, popularity becomes noise. With it, even uninspiring candidates prevail. In Nigeria, elections are won inside party structures, not on social media timelines.

Politics2027: I Will Not Be Vice-president To Anybody – Peter Obi by Lalasdiva(op): 8:25am On Dec 29, 2025
Former Labour Party presidential candidate and ex-governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has officially confirmed that he will contest the 2027 presidential election.

Obi made the declaration on Sunday night while speaking during an X Spaces conversation, where he addressed questions about his political future and leadership ambitions. The former governor made it clear that he is not interested in serving as a running mate to any candidate, insisting that his political journey and experience are geared toward the nation’s highest office.

According to Obi, he has accumulated significant leadership experience over the years and does not intend to step down from a presidential ambition to become a vice-president.

His confirmation has elicited discussions within Nigeria’s political space, particularly among supporters of the Labour Party and youth-driven political movements that backed his 2023 presidential run. The 2027 general election is expected to draw intense competition as political actors begin early positioning ahead of the polls.

He said, I am not travelling round the world to learn governance to be Vice president. I know how to turn Nigeria around. I built my business from scratch and have more experience than any candidate, including the sitting President. Peter Obi will be on the ballot in 2027. I need your support. I need your prayers.

PoliticsWhy Peter Obi Resumed Public Engagements, Reno Omokri Explains by Lalasdiva(op): 11:14pm On Sep 09, 2025
Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has launched a fresh attack on 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi Omokri explained the reason Obi allegedly resumed public engagements after taking some days to rest following a doctor's advice. FCT, Abuja - Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, said the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, returned to public engagement to politicise the recent killings in some parts of the country.

Omokri said that while Obi has condemned the killings in Nigeria, he has refused to comment on Simon Ekpa’s conviction by a Finnish court. Peter Obi, who told us he was sick, came out of retirement to politicise the recent killings in some parts of the country. He said the deaths upset him. But curiously, this same Peter Obi has not said anything about the conviction of Simon Ekpa by a Finnish court." Omokri stated this via his X handle @renoomokri on Tuesday, September 8, 2025 He quoted the Finnish court to have saying Ekpa was directly responsible for many deaths through terrorism in the Southeast.

He chooses not to comment to condemned any evil happened in the southeast, rather he must condemn anything outside his region, Nigerians are aware of this.

If Peter Obi has recovered enough from his sickness to play politics, please can he tell us why the deaths in Borno bother him, but the massacre caused by Simon Ekpa in Igboland does not appear to concern him? “That is Peter Obi's regular trademark. If it happens in Igboland, Obi will suddenly become deaf, dumb, and blind. But if it occurs in the North or Southwest, Peter Obi will dance naked in public like a madman.

He chooses not to comment to condemned any evil happened in the southeast, rather he must condemn anything outside his region, Nigerians are aware of this. The southeast people are just too funny, I do not know if they enjoyed sitting at home on Monday while other states rank in millions, instead of them to call out Peter Obi to talk about the insecurity affecting them, they are busy focusing on Lagos while their state wallows away.

PoliticsMy Past Criticism Of Peter Obi, Based On Ignorance By Morayo Afolabi-brown by Lalasdiva(op): 10:32am On Sep 01, 2025
Ex-host of TVC’s morning show “Your View, "Morayo Afolabi-Brown, has admitted that her past criticism of 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was based on ignorance and a lack of proper understanding of his record in office.

According to Punch, Afolabi-Brown who made the disclosure during an interview with TV personality, Chude Jideonwo, confessed that her comments against the former Anambra state governor were not well-informed.

It was because I did not know him. After I made that comment, people called me and said, ‘Morayo, do you realise that when he was governor, he actually served us. The broadcaster also opened up about her battle with depression, recalling how she once considered taking her own life.

I was depressed. It got so bad that I thought I was suicidal. I just left everything behind. I remember just walking on the express, hoping a car would hit me. It was that bad,” she revealed.

Afolabi-Brown explained that she decided to step away from her programme, “Your View” after the show’s tenth anniversary, saying she had long harboured the thought of moving on.

It was when we were 10 years old that I knew it was time to move on to the next thing. I’ve been harbouring that thought for a while, but I just didn’t know to what or where, you know. But I think last year, I got that light bulb moment,” she said.

Brown further narrated how she was sacked from TVC until her identity became known to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. People now called Asiwaju, ‘Do you know whose child was sacked?’ He said, ‘I’m not aware.
He said, ‘This is the Alao Aka-Bashorun’s daughter. That’s when he knew it was me,” she recalled.

On controversies during her career, Afolabi-Brown revisited the uproar that trailed an on-air interview in which she was accused of calling her husband a pedophile. According to her, the First Lady’s intervention helped her make peace and publicly apologise. Her exit from Your View”, she noted, marked the end of her 12-year journey on the breakfast show.

PoliticsPeter Obi Reaffirms One-term Presidential Vow by Lalasdiva(op): 10:12am On Sep 01, 2025
Former Governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his longstanding pledge to serve only one term of four years if elected President of Nigeria in 2027.

In a public statement on Sunday, Obi declared that the vow was “sacrosanct,” reiterating his commitment to purposeful leadership over prolonged rule.

Referencing global figures such as Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Nelson Mandela, Obi emphasised that great leadership is not measured by the number of years in office, but by the quality and impact of service.

Mandela served one term and walked away. That was leadership,” he said. Power must serve the people, not self,” he said.

Obi acknowledged the widespread scepticism among Nigerians towards political promises, noting that public trust has eroded over decades of unfulfilled pledges.
“I am fully aware that the decay in our society has made trust one of the scarcest and most sceptically viewed commodities,” he said.

In the statement, he addressed recent jibes aimed at his vow. One critic suggested that even a shrine-bound oath would not earn him public belief, while another implied that anyone insisting on a single term should undergo psychiatric evaluation. Obi dismissed both remarks, stating that such cynicism reflects a political culture where broken promises are the norm.

They judge me by their own standards,” Obi said, “but Peter Obi is not cut from that cloth.
He defended his political record in Anambra State, where he said he fulfilled campaign promises on education, healthcare, rural infrastructure, and financial prudence. “I did not swear by a shrine, nor have I been certified mentally unstable as a result of honouring my word,” he remarked.

Reiterating his stance, Obi declared, “I maintain without equivocation: if elected, I will not spend a day longer than four years in office. According to him, “Forty-eight months is enough for any leader who is focused and prepared to make a meaningful difference.

Obi outlined his priority areas as president to include rebuilding trust in public institutions, tackling insecurity through the efficient deployment of national resources, revamping the education and healthcare sectors, catalysing small businesses to drive economic productivity, and combating corruption with unwavering resolve.

He concluded by saying his goal is to transform Nigeria from “a consuming nation into a productive one, anchored on agriculture, technology, and manufacturing. Service should be impactful, not eternal,” Obi said, stressing that the challenges facing Nigeria demand urgency, not tenure elongation.

PoliticsObi Won 2023 Election, Tinubu Is Full Of Himself  - Babachir Lawal by Lalasdiva(op): 11:22pm On Aug 11, 2025
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, claims that Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Tonight on Monday, Lawal said, based on the facts available to him, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party won the election that produced Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s 16th president.

Lawal, who is a vocal critic of the current administration, said President Tinubu didn’t win the election, adding that “the result available to him at that time showed he didn’t win the election.

The problem with Bola Tinubu is that he thinks I’m the one that offended him. I didn’t offend him, he offended me and he is full of himself, and he thinks that he now so-called president…I believe he didn’t win the election,” he said.

Justifying his claim, Lawal maintained that they monitored the election, they collected data and monitored the results from the fields. According to him, some of the results were altered.

Asked what was President Tinubu’s offence against him, Lawal said, “He is arrogant. The guy has an arrogance that belies definitions.

Politics2027 Election: why Peter Obi Is Better Than Jonathan - Analyst Explains by Lalasdiva(op): 8:44am On Aug 11, 2025
A public affairs analyst, Donald Okwuosa, has warned former President Goodluck Jonathan against contesting the 2027 election Okwuosa explained the reason the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is a better candidate than Jonathan During an exclusive chat with Legit.ng, Okwuosa highlighted the reasons Obi is better than Jonathan and others.

Okwuosa said Jonathan lacks the political will to lead Nigeria after his previous time in the presidency. He said Jonathan was too weak for a president and under his watch, insecurity and insurgency of the dreaded Boko haram heightened. GEJ equally failed to tackle corruption, which is the bane of poverty and deprivation in Nigeria. Under his watch, his minister of Petroleum stole so much, almost enough to cover the annual budget of Nigeria.

Obi has been a businessman and a banker all his life, but GEJ came from the classroom into politics, and had no understanding of the economy. Obi is more knowledgeable in the area of economy.” According to Okwuosa, the former Anambra state governor is the best and most preferred candidate of all those contesting for the 2027 Presidential election. “He is so vast in knowledge that he could give you details of how best things are being done in other developed nations and how they could be replicated here to better our country. He is conversant with every sector of the economy.

Politics2027: Peter Obi Has Integrity, He'll Keep His One Term Promise - MBF by Lalasdiva(op):
The Middle Belt Forum, MBF, has said former presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi, is a man of integrity and can be trusted to keep his promise to do a single term if elected president of the country in 2027.

The Forum maintained that as a man of honour, the Middle Belt believed the former Anambra State governor would keep his words to the letter because of his integrity.

National President of MBF, Dr. Bitrus Pogu, made this known while reacting to the promise by the former presidential candidate to do a single term of four years if elected president.

He stated that the Middle Belt had no reason to doubt Peter Obi because of his record of keeping to promises, insisting that the assurance was not given to hoodwink or deceive the middle belt to support his aspiration.

Pogu, who clarified that he was strictly speaking for the Middle Belt and not the north, said: “We believe Peter Obi is a man of honour and we believe that if he gets the win and he promises or promised something, he will keep to it.

But like I have always said, we are where we are because we are not yet a nation. That is why several factors have continued to hold us back from attaining the dreams of our founding fathers.

Otherwise, how many terms one would occupy an office ought to be determined by the constitution and the electorate, rather than by some interest of some sections of the country.

But that issue is for the future. For now, as a people, we believe Peter Obi because we know he is a man of integrity and honour who keeps his words.

PoliticsMy One Term, Four Year Tenure Is Sacrosanct - Peter Obi by Lalasdiva(op): 7:24pm On Aug 03, 2025
One of the greatest American Presidents, Abraham Lincoln, served only four years, yet his legacy endures as a model of principled leadership. Another iconic figure, John F. Kennedy, did not even complete a full term, yet his vision and ideals continue to inspire generations.

In Africa, Nelson Mandela, revered globally as a symbol of justice and reconciliation, chose to serve only one term as President of South Africa, despite immense public pressure to stay longer. His decision was a deliberate act of leadership, a statement that power must serve the people, not the self.

Indeed, history shows that the longer many African leaders remain in power, the more likely they are to be corrupted by it. Longevity in office is not a mark of success; rather, it is purposeful, accountable service - however brief - that defines true statesmanship.

It is within this context that I reiterate my vow: I will serve only one term of four years if elected President. And that vow is sacrosanct.

I am fully aware that the decay in our society has made trust one of the scarcest and most sceptically viewed commodities. Many Nigerians, understandably, no longer take politicians at their word. But even in this climate of cynicism, there are still a few whose actions have matched their words - whose integrity is built on verifiable precedent.

Recently, I became aware of two statements aimed, albeit indirectly, at my vow to serve only a single four-year term. One person remarked that even if I swore by a shrine, I still wouldn’t be believed. Another suggested that anyone talking about doing only one term should undergo psychiatric evaluation.

I understand the basis of their scepticism. They are judging me by their own standards - where political promises are made to be broken. But they forget, or perhaps choose to ignore, that Peter Obi is not cut from that cloth. I have a verifiable track record that speaks louder than speculation.

In my political life, my word is my bond. When I entered politics in Anambra State, I made clear and measurable promises to the people: to improve education and healthcare, to open up rural areas through road construction, and to manage public funds with prudence. I fulfilled each of those promises without deviation. I did not swear by a shrine, nor have I been certified mentally unstable as a result of honouring my word.

My vow to serve only one term of four years is a solemn commitment, rooted in my conviction that purposeful, transparent leadership does not require an eternity.

If making such a promise qualifies me for psychiatric evaluation, then we may as well question the mental fitness of those who framed our Constitution, which clearly stipulates a four-year renewable tenure.

I maintain without equivocation: if elected, I will not spend a day longer than four years in office. In fact, I believe that service should be impactful, not eternal.

We must rebuild trust in our country. I have dedicated my public life to demonstrating that leadership with integrity is not a myth. I have done it before, and I do not intend to betray that trust under any circumstances.

Forty-eight months is enough for any leader who is focused and prepared to make a meaningful difference. In that time, I intend not merely to make an impression, but to deliver on concrete promises to:

sanitise our governance system;
tackle insecurity through effective and accountable use of national resources; prioritise education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation;
catalyse small businesses as engines of growth ; and combat corruption with unflinching resolve.

Above all, I will dedicate myself to transforming Nigeria from a consuming nation into a productive one, where agriculture, technology, and manufacturing replace rent-seeking and waste as our national anchors.

These are not utopian dreams. They are realistic, actionable goals that are achievable within four years.

A new Nigeria is POssible.
