I am also sure that you know that by 1984, the 504L was no longer in production. Even the much loved 504GL was no longer in production. The only models you could buy in 1984 were GR and SR. The 504L was discontinued in 1979.

Having said that 504 never reach N20k in 1984. Even it’s senior brother the 505 never reach N15k. I think a 505 was around N12k in 1984. It was after Babangida came into power (1985) that prices really exploded.

Having said that, I wouldn’t discount that prices were trading above the official price because of scarcity, so it is possible just strange for 1984 that a 504 would sell for N20k. Are you sure it was 1984?
