Sorry for that. Writing support may be a waste of time, so I'll advice you to visit your study centre to complain. Probably a glitch from the school's server end.

As a backup, still write to support.

I wish you best of luck.
Thank you.

I visited the study center but the ICT guy there didn't do anything.
He told me to show him my registered courses, I did. He said the problem is because I haven't registered for the exams. There & then, I registered for the exams for the courses I have already registered.
He then login to my portal & saw the issue himself but he couldn't do anything.
He then said he's advising me to register ALL the courses on my portal for this semester.

That sounds ridiculous to me, because ALL the courses listed there are 22 in number, even the maximum unit load would have been exceeded by then.
He finally said there is nothing else he could do.

That's how I wasted, time, effort and transport to visit the study center but nothing came of it.

Send a DM. You are probably making a mistake somewhere.
Good morning Sir.

I have replied your mail, but no response from you so far.

The maximum units to register is 24 units, hope you know?
I know of maximum of 24 units, but that should be PER SEMESTER, isn't it?

My courses for this semester are 2 units each and I have registered only 7 courses so far, which is 14 units. This shows that I am not close to the maximum, so where could the problem be coming from?

At a point, I had to check my registered course and I discovered that the portal MERGED both the ones I registered in my first semester and the one of this my second semester together, hence it's telling me that I have reached the maximum.

Is this semester registered courses not supposed to be treated different from last semester especially as regards unit loads calculation?

Below is the screenshot. From number 8-14 is for this semester.

Please, someone should help me out of this dilemma as it's hindering from exam registration, e-learning access and TMAs.

EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by LaPremiereFemme: 8:35pm On Feb 15
Good evening everyone.

Please, I'm having issues registering my courses for almost two weeks now.
The portal doesn't allow me to register all my registrable courses for this semester at once.

It kept saying saying I should register the core course first before the only elective I have there.
I finally succeeded in registering the core ones today yet the portal won't all me register the remaining one which is elective.

Is this problem from NOUN's end? Did anyone encounter the same challenge? What should I do?

Nb* the option of adding/removing courses is no longer on the portal.

Good morning everyone.

Please, is it possible for me to get reference letter from NOUN(Lecturers) for international school applications, especially considering the fact that I am yet to graduate? I'm doing pgde.

If yes, how do I go about it? Will the process of getting it be online or physical?

Thanks.
Please, I need an answer to this.

Register all core courses and only one of the METHODS that you are currently teaching or would love to specialize on. You may as well want to specialize on more than one subject area.
Thank you.

Does that mean that the 2nd semester registered courses of PGDE students are not always the same?

How about that 3rd semester part where they wrote project & teaching practice, am I to register it for this semester too, or it must be under 3rd semester like they classified it?
EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by LaPremiereFemme: 6:38pm On Jan 07
Happy new year everyone.

Please, this is what I am seeing in the portal for second semester. Does it mean I have to register all? How come the courses for this semester are plenty like that?

Again, that semester 3 part?
Is PGDE now 3 semesters instead of 2?

Has it always been like this or there is a mistake on the portal?

I need an answer too, please.

LaPremiereFemme:
About exam clearance.

Can we be allowed to do it on that first day we are starting the exams?
EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by LaPremiereFemme: 9:53pm On Oct 21, 2025
Please, someone should respond to me.

LaPremiereFemme:
Good evening everyone.

On my dashboard, the exam Timetable is showing 6 courses instead of the 7 that I registered for.
Edu 707: A Study Guide for a distant learner is missing there.
How do I go about this?

Again, the timetable on my dashboard & the PDF timetable I have seen have conflicting dates for Edu 723: Basic Research Method in Education.
On the PDF the date for it is 11th Nov, while on my dashboard it's 12th Nov. Both the same 2pm.
So which date is the authentic one I should go with now?

As regards the upcoming matriculation.

I thought it's a virtual process, or does it need physical attendance at the study centers?

For PG students, is attendance compulsory and is there any penalty for absenteeism?
EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by LaPremiereFemme: 9:15pm On Oct 11, 2025
Good evening everyone.

At the beginning of some of the course materials, they normally write something like "You must submit your Tutor-Marked Assignments to your facilitator before the due date, they must be marked and returned to you as soon as possible".

The submission of the TMAs they wrote about, is it different from the automatic online submission after writing it and clicking on the submit button?

Do I need to contact the tutors after writing the TMAs or is there any other step(s) I need to take as regards NOUN procedures before writing the exams when they finally commence?

Or I have done my part and just have to wait for the exams?
EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by LaPremiereFemme: 6:46pm On Sep 30, 2025
Good evening everyone.

Please I am having a challenge regarding access to some PGDE course materials.

Courses like:
Edu 723: Basic Research Method in Education,
Edu 731: Curriculum Development,
Edu 713: Educational Management and Supervision. Don't have any course material in their resource section on the e-learning platform. The links there are unclickable in the three courses and Edu 731 doesn't have any discussion forum.

I tried it on another phone still the same result. What could be the problem and how do I tackle it as I am yet to access any materials on them to write the TMAs.

Is anyone experiencing the same or had gone through such, be it old or current students? Kindly help me.
Thanks.

I enrolled late like you last semester, It wasn't easy at all but I still managed to get through it. Start studying now, for me since you don't have much time ditch the live classes and start going through your PDF course materials.

Study using your course materials and allocate significant amount of time to cover each course. Each course you cover, you enter and write your TMA. Then look for the course past questions and summaries, it helps too

Thanks. The idea of focusing on the PDF material alone came to my mind though, but after going through about 2 weeks in it on a course, I discovered that the progress bar wasn't adding. I tried clicking 'Mark as done' but the system keeps telling me I don't have the permission to do so.

Does it mean I have to consume the whole course material including videos in a given course before the progress bar will get full to a good extent?
Is the progress bar thing compulsory, will it affect me later, maybe during exams the lecturer will check it & stop me from partaking in the exams?

Good evening everyone.
Please, I just registered for my exams this week which means I am just having access to the E-learning portal, but it seems I have a lot of grounds to cover in terms of the courses, discussion forums, live classes and so on.
I feel overwhelmed, given the limited time I have left to do all these and write all the TMAs before the portal for it gets close.

Is there any suggestions on how best to go about it?

Or is deferring the semester an option?

I am far behind and NOUN is already in week 6.
How do I go about this?
Any better suggestions will be welcomed.

Good evening everyone.

Please, these are the courses I am seeing in my portal for my 1st semester. It's a total of 14 credit units load.
Am I to register all of them or is anyone meant to be elective?

Since you want soft copy, use this email: pgadmissions@noun.edu.ng

Name of institution: National Open University of Nigeria

Address: UNIVERSITY VILLAGE, PLOT 91, CADASTRAL ZONE, NNAMDI AZIKIWE EXPRESSWAY, JABI, Abuja.
Thanks a lot.

How about the Contact Number and Zip/Postcode?
EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by LaPremiereFemme: 10:26pm On Aug 19, 2025
Please how exactly do I fill this to avoid mistakes.

In the name of institution; Should I just write "National Open University" or "Post Graduate School of NOUN"?

Then in address & State; which particular address and State do I use considering that NOUN is a National school & the admission will likely be processed from the headquarters which should be Abuja.

Then, their destination contact number which I don't have.

Please, people that have pass through this stage, kindly help me out with the right information.
Thank you.

I don't know why your home page is like you are on the "How To Do Things"

Go to the home page:
Click on Admission
Check if you are qualified (skip if sure)
Then click apply for admission

Alright, thank you.

But is there a deadline for the physical screening? I saw somewhere that next semester will commence on 1st September, can I still do my physical screening in that first week of September assuming I couldn't do it before then?

What you need to present at your study centre to get cleared is evidence of application for the transcripts. That is what is required. You can present the receipt of payment or Remita payment receipt as the case may be.
Alright, thank you.

I guess the site is functioning now, so how exactly do I apply since the homepage is showing me this?

EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by LaPremiereFemme: 9:41pm On Aug 06, 2025
Enskynelson:
The application portal is currently having some issues. Just be patient and try later.
As for the transcripts, you are not the one to send the transcripts. It's to be sent by your alma mater to the school of postgraduate studies of the NOUN.
Alright, thank you.
Please I still want to ask; since the Noun site is currently down, can I apply online now to my former school for them to start processing my transcript inorder to send it to Noun school of postgraduate studies, considering that the process takes like two weeks or so, hopefully by then the site will be fully back?
EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by LaPremiereFemme: 7:53pm On Aug 05, 2025
Good evening everyone.
Please I want to apply for PGDE but I don't know the right procedure to follow for it. The nou.edu...website is bringing drop-down lists under each point without any clickable link from there. As shown in the screenshot. PLEASE SOMEONE SHOULD BREAKDOWN THE PROCESS FOR ME.

Again, I heard I will need to send my undergraduate transcript but to which SITE? Is it official or unofficial transcript that is needed or should I just print the unofficial copy as hard copy and come with it for physical screening after registration?
Please I need clarification.
Thank you.

Good evening everyone.

Please I want to ask; I intend to study PGDE anytime soon but I am confused on which school is better between NOUN and National Teachers Institute in terms of education quality but most especially as regards WES evaluation in future?
Again, is the kind of school a person obtained a degree from really a factor in WES evaluation or their primary concern is the person's academic results irrespective of the institution it is gotten from?
