BlueRayDick: What are u saying really?
U asked if it was possible to be tested at LUTH instead of The 5 test centres run by NCDC, somebody brought u receipts showing LUTH claiming they run the tests.
That alone already shows there's some credibility to the story.( Which even myself doubted initially)
Now the guy claims he was let loose by LUTH after testing positive which is visibly professional negligence on LUTH's part.
Are u saying that is not possible? Read my post again sir. You cannot get tested for Covid-19 without NCDC being aware of it. NCDC and LSMOH are the one in charge of Covid-19 response in Lagos. The man cannot walk into LUTH today and ask for a test, it is not possible. He will be referred to the Infectious Disease Centre, they are the one that will decide whether he will get the test or not. If he test positive, he will be evacuated to Lagos State isolation center. Covid-19 test is not like malaria test that you can just walk in and get. |

BlueRayDick: But this their response get as e be.
1.You can clearly see on their Twitter TL that they conduct COVID-19 tests.
2. The guy claim he was tested there and he was confirmed negative. They didn't react to this.
3. He claimed he was asked to go because they don't have required facilities to take care of him. In their response they claimed they are not an isolation centre that can him. ( Which is true)
My question is this : Do u think it makes sense allowing him to go instead of arranging for him to be transfered to NCDC facility on their watch? The first thing is, you cannot get tested for Covid-19 without NCDC knowing about it. A consultant will be the one to recommend the test. If you walk up to LUTH today even with the symptoms, you will be referred to the Infectious Disease Centre, they are the one that will decide whether you will take the test or not. If the test come back positive, he will be evacuated to the infectious treatment center in Yaba or any of the isolation center. That’s the way it is. |

This guy tested positive at LUTH, but was asked to go home due to non availability of facility to taje Carr of him. This guy used public transport going to LUTH and he did same on his way back home.
He has since gone back to continue with his life as if nothing happened. Let’s be careful the way we spread rumors that are not verified. There’s no testing lab at Luth. NCDC does their test at Infectious Disease Center at Yaba. So who tested him positive at LUTH? |

Godx: What if they are already current carriers of the virus that haven't been tested and haven't shown any symptoms. Some cases where Confirmed just few days ago. They could have had the virus fit more than 14days before showing symptoms. That's why testing in mass is the way to go. If you use assumption to start mass testing now, what happens when the testing kit get exhausted? NCDC is tracing all the contact of all the confirmed cases, if they start showing symptoms, they will be tested. Lagos State alone has over 20m people, who many people do you think 20k Kit will test in Lagos considering the 20k is for the whole country? |

Godx: Adapting uk policy of testing to me is the wrong way to go. South Africa has tested over 16k people as this moment. Local authorities should be carrying out more testing on people. I disagree. We currently do not have community spread of the virus in the country “yet”. The first case was reported Feb 25, it’s already over 30 days which means we don’t have community spread from the index case. The plan is to prevent community spread, as long as we are able to do that, our case will be low. |

Godx: The question is what are we doing with the 20k testing kits we have on ground. Nigeria has not tested up to 200 people at this very moment. The plan is to test those showing symptoms already or those that have come in contact with a confirmed case. That’s why NCDC is screaming self isolate and stay at home. We cannot just test anybody, the testing must be targeted. That’s our current reality. |

Victornezzar: Other Presidents are addressing their nation
But Your presidential Spokesman said your President has his own style
Uganda president has addressed his nation 5 times 2 wks but Bubu had to make a speech after the whole pressure
I'm just glad for Someone like Sanwo-Olu... That dude is really trying Nigerians, we enjoy majoring in the minor. To be clear, I have dragged Femi Adeshina and Garba Shehu, even Buhari this morning on his so called communication style. I believe the President should be addressing the nation as often as possible which isn’t the case with Buhari and his media team. That being said, during this pandemic, I will rather hear from the health experts on what they are doing to contain and fight this virus than whatever the President want to say. So far Minister for Health and NCDC has been the one giving us information on this virus and it must remain same. What measure has the FG done during this period: The Buhari administration has just approved 10bn for Lagos State to support their fight during this period. FG has released 6.6bn to NCDC in 2 tranches to ramp up their capacity. There’s a Presidential task force in place to coordinate the effort of the FmoH, NCDC and state governments. FG and CBN has introduced interest rate cuts from 9% to 5% and one year moratorium on loan servicing. FG and CBN has created a 50bn targeted credit facility through NIRSAL micro finance bank for households and small medium sized enterprise that will be affected by Covid-19. The FG has set up a crisis management committee who are working on an integrated policy framework, this framework will lead to the review of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the review of the 2020 FG budget. The following are the proposed cost saving measures and stimulus package: 1. Oil benchmark set at $30 2. Reduction of NNPC PMS underrecovery payment from 457.5bn to zero. 3. Ruduced budgeted custom revenue from 1.5tr to 943bn 4. Cut privatization proceed by 50% 5. Reduce administrative CAPEX by 25%. 6. Reduce administrative capex and overhead by top 10 GOEs in FGN budget by 25%. FG is embarking on implementation of tax holidays and import duty waivers in the agricultural sector to enhance production and job creation. These are the things we should be talking and debating on, but unfortunately we are more fixtated on the President speech which 80% are just waiting for to use to mock him. It’s well. |

airmark: More reason he should do more so that there won't be that chance for anybody to amplify anything.
Killing over 70 soldiers in an ambush, is what will frighten any president in a sane country. And this is not the first time and i only pray it will be the last. We should start attaching more importance to every Nigerian soul.
I have sms messages from Usa embassy in Ottawa, giving me tips on prevention and hot lines to call if help is needed. That's how much our leaders should treat lives of Nigerian people.
We always foolishly believe that any soul lost, is allowed by God/Allah, when some could be saved but for our ineptitude, inactions and carelessness.
I still maintain that no significant progress, if those people could still have info and tools to easily ambush that large number of soldiers sent by the state. It was 40 Nigerian soldiers, the rest were Chadians. I agree with everything else you said that’s why I said among other things I’ve been complaining about is why Buhari hasn’t sacked his service chief yet. I still believe there might be moles in the military that we will still need to fish out. Overall, on security, Buhari will prolly be rated 4/10. Failed. |

Is anything stopping us from exporting the rice we grow for foreign exchange? This looks like a perfect opportunity. We are not yet self sufficient in rice production. We still have about 2 million tonnes or thereabouts to reach that level before we start talking about export. |

I see no significant progress yet, despite all the billions pumped into the fight. If your output doesn't justify the input, that's a let down.
Maybe we should even thank Corona for the reduction in their attacks recently. Significant progress has been made. The media obviously amplify their attack anytime they attack and barely report whenever the military are on the offensive. All the same, I agree the service chiefs should have been sacked, if not for nothing but to bring fresh ideas into the military top strategy against the one going fight. The North will actually judge Buhari and how he tackled Boko Haram and bandits and rightly so. As in C-I-C, the buck stop at his table. |

When Buhari closed the border last year August to stop importation of rice, chickens and the likes, most of these people were crying like bush babies. Today, with all the disruption with global supply chain, price of rice, chicken and other essentials has remained the same. Most of theee bush babies now eat the local rice like their life depends on it. Our import bill on rice is almost zero and import bill for chicken has gone down drastically. We are now the highest producer of rice in Africa. Rice mill are springing up everywhere, creating jobs for both farmers, retailer and manufacturers. Poultry farming is at an all time high, more people are going into agriculture and we are heading towards food sufficiency. Military and police are now buying their patrol vans from Innoson and Proforce, Factories in Aba are now making boots for the military, police and NYSC. Garment factory in calabar is now producing uniform for our security outfits. We now have fertilizer blending plants working at full capacity. Bush babies that know nothing about the economy or the affairs of the country other than what they hear on WhatsApp trying to form knowledgeable on issues they know nothing about. Echo chambers who only echo what they have heard others saying. What do you expect coming from people that follows FFK, Reno and the likes. LMAO. |
