Guys, apparently there are two variants of the NLNG rejection emails sent out 20th July. The differences I noticed are:

• One says “at this time, you have not…” and also ends with “best regards,” as it’s complimentary close.

• While in the other, there is no “at this time” and it carries “Kind regards,” as its complimentary close.

I’m pointing this out because something similar happened during the 2023/2024 recruitment. There were also two versions of the rejection email, and some candidates later speculated that the “at this time” version was a disguised waitlist after a number of people were reportedly contacted later. I wonder if this year’s variants mean something similar or if they’re simply different email templates.

Yeah, that's why I didn't comment on it (the picture idea) since it wasn't imparting the budget.

About your group, I simply hate domineering people in these contexts--its a team project fgs. Also, it can be somewhat hard to call them out in these circumstances. I honestly don't know what I would have done in shoes.

The picture frame suggestion does sound nice since it won’t cost anything on the company’s part.
My own team was something else, a lady was so domineering, she kept talking over everyone and I was pissed but I had to comport myself.

Presentation was good too. I picked only 3 metrics for the analysis of each team's performance, then offered solutions based on my findings. The questioning was fun, and i answered to the best of my abilities--in hindsight, I could have answered one or two even better but I'm satisfied with my performance there.

But fact-finding ehnnn, that one totally demoralized me. Like I said earlier, I was lucky it was after the break and not before, as I definitely would have flunked analysis in that scenario. I just wasn't convinced with myself as I was answering some (probably most sef) of the questions. I soldiered on sha, we die here!

The whole thing is funny. One will be internally squeezing face but outwardly forcing a stupid smile; might even give a slight nod for the plot.

There was a lot of ass kissing if I’ll be honest 😂. Agreeing even when you don’t agree. I got frustrated internally at numerous points. Because we were running out of time and someone in my group was suggesting we use some of the money on paint (mind you, there was no price for paint, only furniture which was a fixed £10k) so he was going to manufacture (aka guess and estimate) prices and allocate it to paint. Even tho the office was already white, so we’d take out precious time to pick a color and then blindly appoint an amount for its cost, estimate another amount for painting the acquired paint…. It was the grace of God that kept me from crashing out 😂. Smart guy tho but the time could’ve gone to others things.

😂😂 We had something similar. One guy was talking about food and paint (the brief already stated that the staff were satisfied with the current food provisions ffs, why do we need to spend money on that when we have the more urgent issues of staff vacancies and personnel development?). On the painting issue, he was saying we should allow staff to bring in and frame their family pictures for whatever reason.

He probably just wanted to add something novel that no one had mentioned. I countered on the food point, but let him have a win with the picture stuff.

How were the group dynamics for your group exercise? In mine, everyone was being amiable and peaceful. They were mostly going with whatever the first suggestion was. In my mind I was like 'ah... I don't agree with this o' so, I offered my different perspectives about a number of times.

I didn't unlock the profit motive for laybrooke during the questioning, but my instincts presupposed it. Me not being sure however affected my ability to answer about 2 questions convincingly. One of them was the one where starlight required their brand symbols to be placed in the restaurant. I should have negotiated for a concession that helps bring in revenue but I didn't have the profit motive, so didn't think of it from that angle.

Today is the last day of the Ac and I’m actually excited to finally be able to talk about wetin we jam for there 😭. Hopefully the conversations would happen here so the next Gen will have access to the intel. Guys it is well.

There's one but I doubt it will be as active as NLNG's-i couldn't even find any for previous years. Maybe that will change (activity) once the assessments begin

I know that you weren’t really explicit about the activities but you were close oh

First timer here. While I feel confident about my performance in 2 exercises, the 3rd is where there is problem. It was the only one where I felt very nervous (excluding the beginning of the group exercise, but I recovered pretty fast). I didn't freeze or anything like that but I felt the solutions I was giving weren't convincing enough. There were a few instances where I stuttered for the right words but like @airsaylongcome said recounting his own experience, I fought till the end. One thing I am thankful for is that, it was the last exercise of the day for me. Had it been before lunch, I'm very sure I would have found the next task extra difficult.

That particular exercise is draining the hope in me while the other 2 are refilling it simultaneously--an extremely vicious cycle. Sha, I have accepted that I might not get in if excellent candidates across all exercises are much. As such, I have channeled my energy into preparing for the seplat graduate trainee assessment. If I don't get it here, I will get it there. In all this was an excellent experience for me, as my first graduate trainee recruitment exercise and assessment centre.

Not really a man of faith myself, but I do hope our efforts never go in vain

Regardless of how much you try to be calm, one would just end up thinking about it at the end of the day.

I keep reminding myself that the nervousness isn’t that I’m scared, but that I’m happy and optimistic, it gets me calm sometimes.

I believe the pressure is more on second-timers as it would be somehow if a first timer gets it and even with your second trial you don’t make it, yeah, it will happen (some first-timers will get it, while some second-timers will not), but in all, I’m really hoping that I make it this time.

And just as you said, our efforts will not go in vain.

It can only be activated at the bank
Go to the bank
Ask to reset the card pin using twig pos
It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes

Pray before you go as their network has been bad which is why I haven’t done mine and the twig service isn’t at all Access bank locations.

Nothing on the pin yet, the whole thing is quite frustrating. Tried activating on an ATM machine to no avail.

Is there anyone who has been able to activate the card? If yes, how?

The bank I went to acknowledged that the process was different for a company card and said I need to do it within a branch with a POS kinda machine for activating cards. If you’ve gotten info about the pin please you can email me.

I wasn't aware we were given a default pin after the AC. I tried using the prepaid card at the Access bank ATM, but was met with a pin request. I reported at the bank, and was told it was usual for us to have been given a pin (should be the same for everyone). As such, could anyone please let me know what the default pin was? You can reach out to my mail if you don't want the publicity. Thanks

CBI was done for the 2013-17 set I think, but not for the 2023. I doubt they will revert to the former setup (they had a WAEC exam too) though I have no clear info on the current one.

While it doesn't give direct answers, I'm very confident that if I were to get my hands on it, I'd get in. I extended the same reasoning to everyone, as I believe that everyone who made it to this stage possesses significant aptitude.

Not necessarily. Knowing the content of the brief gives a little advantage. But in no way does it guarantee you would get in. The brief does not give any direct question for a direct answer.

Exactly, everyone will use the exact same briefs. Those who get the info will surely get in

I’m surprised that anyone is surprised that no one has talked of their AC experience WHILE AC IS ONGOING. It just clearly shows that whoever is asking has not done their basic research from previous ACs. Any purported publication from such person or persons would also have been poorly researched

Not surprising sha... Anybody sharing is putting themselves and others at a disadvantage. Those who haven't participated yet are sharp guys-everyone who made it to the AC, to be honest-who will milk any drop of info given out to their advantage
