Hi Guys, Today I want to teach you how to register your business with the corporate affairs commission(CAC)

1. To register a name with CAC a name search on the portal https://www.cac.gov.ng/ is required , this will enable you to know if the name you want to register has been taken or registered by another business owner or not

2. Once a thorough search has been done, the second step is to proceed to reserve the name on the portal https://pre.cac.gov.ng/login

Please note that name can be reserved for just 60 days, in which if not registered it can be used by another business owner

If you do a thorough search before going ahead to reserve, the name will be accepted by CAC but, if a similar name has been registered, CAC will reject the name and you will have to reserve the name again.

3.The third stage is name registration. This requires you to fill all the necessary details of the proprietor including upload of required documents. Once the name is registered, you can download your documents including CAC certificate, status report etc. within 7 days starting from the approval date, if download is not down within the time frame given, a charge of 5000 will be required to be paid to download each of the documents.
