I really sympathise with those who lost their jobs. However, my sister has a different story to tell as a staff of Globacom who has been in the employ of the company for about 12 years. She just got redeployed to join her family in Ibadan from Lagos where she has been for some time. She tells me that Glo is an equal opportunity entity that has never victimised her on account of her marriage or her being the mother of four children who constantly need motherly attention. Could it then be true that performance\or lack of it is the basis of the recent downsizing in Glo? If it is, i doubt if any profit-oriented company would want to retain any staff that they consider lacking in the prescribed ingredients required to achieve the company's set goals towards further growth. Again, i pray God grants open doors to those who were affected.
