You're right. It's exploitation. The bank is merely taking advantage of the unemployment situation in the country. These people have the option to leave and demand to be paid in full. However, it will be difficult to demand a pay of 20,000 or 25,000 if it was not documented. |
It is risky to look for advice from job seekers like you. If you want to grow, if you want a job, ask people who currently have a job. Success can be duplicated. Failure can also be duplicated. If you want to succeed in life, ask people who have succeeded what they did to succeed. Then follow in their footsteps. |
She has one of two options - accept or decline the offer. If she has nothing else to do and she's bored at home, she can go for it. Half bread is better than none. However, if there are better offers, she has no business staying with this bank. Employers, including banks, are taking advantage of the job scarcity in the country and desperate state of applicants. It's pitiful. |
What you earn in any organization is dependent on the financial might of the organization, the reward policy of the organization, and your position - not necessarily what you studied in school. For example, some cleaners who work in an oil company earn more than software engineers, mechanical engineers, and accountants who work in a one man (sole proprietor) business. But generally, the bigger the company you work for and the higher you are in the hierarchy, the more you earn. However, if the company has a policy of paying peanuts to staff (e.g. Indian and Lebanese companies in Nigeria), your pay will still be peanuts even though you're high in the hierarchy. |

Laws without the will to execute translate to nothing. We will just end up accummulating more laws. Next steps - get a leader with the will and the heart to do what is necessary to stamp out corruption. He must start with himself. |
Infidelity has a way of destroying everything. Yet it is so easy to lose your guard and look at someone of the opposite sex who is not your partner. I feel your pain. My advice? If he cannot live with the fact that you committed a sin, there is no use trying to make the love relationship work. Otherwise, he will start treatig you badly and flirting with other women all in the name of firing back at you. People make mistakes. If he had done the same thing before you, he would have begged you to forgive him and have him back. But now he's unwilling to forgive. If he fails to forgive and forget, let go of the relationship. Otherwise, he will keep tormenting you with your past sin. And you will not enjoy the relationship. If he gets over it and forgives you, stick with him if you love him. About your actions. DOon't make the same mistake again! It hurts. It hurts real bad. |
Corruption has eaten deep into the fabric of our society. Virtually nothing gets done unless you offer a tip. A proven way to deal with corruption is to bring the offenders to book no matter how high ranking they are. When the penalty for corruption is devastating, people will think twice before stealing money from govt coffers. For example in advanced economies like the U.S., tax evaders are dealt with irrespective of their position in the society. Unfortunately, for this to work the leaders themselves must be above board. The leaders must show good example. A thief cannot catch a thief. Until we get such leaders, corruption will continue to inhibit the progress of Nigeria. |
