Donald Trump's first televised interview since the election aired Sunday on CBS' 60 Minutes. Host Lesley Stahl (left) grilled him on a variety of topics and campaign promises

ON ABORTION
Stahl asked whether Trump would appoint a Supreme Court justice who would overturn Roe v Wade, the 1973 decision that made abortion legal across the United States and invalidated state laws restricting access to the procedure.
Trump pledged to appoint pro-life justices and said he was himself pro-life. He then predicted that, should Roe v Wade be overturned, abortion would become a states' rights issue again.
This means women would be able to get abortions in certain states, but would be prevented from doing so in other states - as has not been the case in 43 years.
'But then some women won't be able to get an abortion?' Stahl asked.
'Yeah, well, they'll perhaps have to go, they'll have to go to another state,' Trump replied.
When Stahl pressed him further, asking whether this status quo was okay, he added: 'Well, we'll see what happens.
'It's got a long way to go, just so you understand. That has a long, long way to go.'
Trump will have to appoint at least one Supreme Court justice, Antonin Scalia's replacement. Given the ages of the current justices, he could have to appoint four in total during his presidency.

ON SAME-SEX MARRIAGE
The president-elect said he was 'fine' with same-sex marriage remaining as the law of the land and insisted the issue had already been settled by the Supreme Court.
Trump wouldn't say whether he supported marriage equality but said it was irrelevant to question his stance because same-sex marriage has already been entered into law.
'It's done. It - you have - these cases have gone to the Supreme Court. They've been settled. And I'm - I'm fine with that,' he said.

The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Rivers State Police Command received a complaint about the kidnap of one Sir Chief Samuel Iheanachor along Aba-Oyibgo Road on October 10, 2016. He was abducted by six armed men while he was driving his Toyota Highlander and taken to an unknown destination.

After the Commissioner of Police, CP. Francis M. Odesanya, instructed a discreet investigation into the matter, the jeep was tracked along Aba Road. It was driven by Lance Corporal Abdul Yusuf ‘m’ of the 2nd Brigade and another, both wearing Army uniforms. Both suspects were arrested.

On interrogation, they confessed to the crime and led the operatives to Asarama in Andoni Local Government Area where the victim was rescued unhurt and unconditionally on October 15, 2016. No ransom was paid. Three others members of the kidnap gang were equally arrested.

The victim has been debriefed and reunited with his family. Further investigation is ongoing at the Anti-kidnapping Unit and the suspects will soon be charged to court.

The son of action hero Will Smith has been the subject of cruel rumours that he has committed suicide, with a 'video' being uploaded to Facebook which claimed to feature him saying goodbye to his famous dad.
The hoax involves getting permission to post on the user's page on the social media site, and it has been spread for weeks now, with people noticing it on their newsfeed as more and more people click on the fake link.
Although the teenager is yet to respond to the rumours, he has been seen out and about - but it hasn't spotted people still being fooled by the prank.
"4 people on my fb fell for that jaden smith suicide hoax link and that is just one day. everyday at least someone else falls for it, too," wrote one fan.

A 28-year-old fashion designer, identified only as Ituah, has been beaten up by a mob on Mosaku Street, in the Oshodi area of Lagos State, for allegedly raping a two-year-old girl.
Our correspondent gathered that Ituah, who was later dragged to the Akinpelu Police Division, was caught by a neighbour while allegedly raping the victim. The neighbour reportedly alerted the girl’s mother.
The incident occurred on Sunday at about 5pm.
Our correspondent gathered that the girl’s mother, identified simply as Mrs. Ajibade, had gone to the toilet to urinate and left the girl in the corridor.
The victim was said to have gone to play with Ituah, who has a shop in front of the victim’s house, when the suspect allegedly raped her.
A neighbour reportedly caught the fashion designer and raised the alarm, which attracted a mob.
The mob reportedly beat up the suspect before dragging him to the police station.
The victim’s mother, Ajibade, a trader, said she left the girl in the corridor so that she would not play with electric appliances in the sitting room.
She said, “It was around 5pm on Sunday that the incident happened. We live in a face-me-I-face-you house. The suspect has a shop in front of our house.
“I went to the toilet and returned without seeing my daughter in the corridor. I had left her in the corridor because I did not want her to play with electric sockets in the house.
“When I came back, I could not find her. I did not know she was with the fashion designer. When my girl was brought from the shop, she just pointed to her private parts and cried, ‘Ituah, Ituah’.
“That was how I examined her pants and discovered that she had been raped.
“We were at the Mirabel Centre on Monday for a checkup. She is gradually responding to treatment.
“The suspect’s family members are putting pressure on us. We do not want any case on the matter.”
Our correspondent learnt that after Ituah was mobbed, the matter was also brought to the attention of a non-governmental organisation in the area, Child Protection Network, which facilitated his movement to the police station.
The CPN coordinator in the Oshodi area, Ebenezer Omejalile, said the suspect confessed to have inserted his fingers into the two-year-old’s private parts, but denied raping her.

He said, “The suspect denied having an intercourse with the girl. He was the only one in the shop. He later told the girl’s mother that he only inserted his fingers into the girl’s private parts.
“The shop is closed down as we speak. The suspect has been moved from the division to the command headquarters.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed Ituah’s arrest.
She said, “He is in custody at the gender unit of the command headquarters. Investigation is ongoing into the matter.”

Three people have died in a shooting outside a swimming pool in Spalding.
A police spokesman said: "We can confirm that there has been a firearms incident on Pinchbeck Road in Spalding in the vicinity of the Castle Swimming Pool, in which three people have been fatally wounded, including the suspected offender.
"There is an ongoing police investigation and at this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."

Pakistan's very own Kim Kardashian has been murdered.

Qandeel Baloch was reportedly strangled to death by her brother at age 26 in what appears to be an "honour killing," according to police.
The social media star, who was an outspoken feminist, was seen as a controversial figure in the conservative country, with many likening her to reality star Kim.
She became a household name in the country for her provocative videos and meteoric rise to fame.
Baloch – whose real name is Fauzia Azeem – was tragically killed in her family home in Multan, a large city in the province of Punjab.
"Her father Azeem informed the police that his son Waseem has strangled Qandeel," said a police spokesperson. "Apparently, it is honour killing but further investigations would reveal the real motives behind this murder.”
Police are currently searching for Waseem, who has disappeared following the killing.
