GentlemanAyo: Bro the news about Post UTME is not coming too sudden trust me. At least you have like a month to prepare if UI will eventually write Post UTME. In 2011, point system was used as usual, people who meet the cut off point were invited, they taught it was the normal interview, it was when they got to UI they knew they will be writing Post UTME come and see drama. They wrote the exam and UI was transparent enough to publish everybody's score online going by the department a candidate applied to, see scores, my dad had to print all the scores for Medicine and Surgery. I could not weep for 282, 7 As candidate scoring 30%. Chai! Ok sir. Nigeria matter has tire me sef. Changing of policies like baby's diapers is just plain annoying. I implore everyone to just go back to their books to be on a safe side. Post utme or point utme, QUE SERA SERA. |

See the thing is i don't think anyone here is scared of post utme. The main thing is this is coming so suddenly and most of us are not prepared. So they should let us know which one they want to use to avoid all these. I sha pray that those clamouring for post utme will not have cause to lie about their scores on NL when it's out. Any method they want to use, people who will gain admission this year will do. Note; I'm indifferent about this whole thing. Just let me know what is going to be used. |

Fellas, I just contacted a student at UI and he said the news is real. We are writing post utme. So start reading. I don't like the idea thought. Where will someone start from na?? But we have no choice. |

I don't know what to think again oooo. Buh in my opinion, i think it would be unfair to bring back post utme suddenly coz dis is totally unprecedented. If the point system is to be used this year i think more emphasis should be laid on utme score coz it's far credible than ssce 2017. They should let us know which is to be used asap to avoid unnecessary hullabaloo. BTW someone said they can use the point system and screen out dim-witted candidates using interview method. Any method they want to use, we will be waiting. |

TheHistorian: Sir,I just visited UI's official website as regards your question.I think the listed subjects prerequisite are very clear and self explanatory.
UTME "English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any of Government, History, Geography, Lit-In-English, CRK/IRK."
This means Eng,Eco,Maths are mandatory for UTME with the inclusion of any of these subjects;;; govt,History,Geo,Lit and CRK/IRK.
O'LEVEL "5 ‘O’ level subjects at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ level subjects at 2 sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two / three of Arts, Social Sciences or Science."
This means in your required O'level subject.Econs,Maths and English are mandatory. The two/three subjects to be added can be from any of the arts, social science or Science subject(as in you fit put any subject from any department be it Physics,Bio,Chem,Yoruba,Acct,Lit,Commerce)
Note that Financial Accounting cannot be included in your UTME combination but will be outrightly welcomed in your O'level.
Ok thanks it's just that i didn't see commercial subjects there. |

CondomSir: Except you are a student of mech in UI or you have consulted the admission office and they said otherwise, that is what UI has on her website as O'level requirements not only for mech, but all other engineering courses offered in the school.
I only know of Unilag where f/maths is compulsory for all engineering courses, and OAU and FUTA where it is an added advantage, it is not compulsory in UI. M not a student oo. Buh it sounds strange sha. I will confirm it. Can you share the link?? |

samuelizz: 5 ‘O’ level subjects at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ level subjects at two sittings to include English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with any ONE or TWO of the following subjects as the case may be; Biology, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Economics, Geography, Metal Work and Wood Work. I don't think it works like that for mec eng. F maths is needed. |
