Mynd_44: The price of cement is high cos we have issues in Nigeria.

Top on the list is electricity, the plants have to buy their own power plants and spend hell fire on Diesel/gas to fire them. There is maintenance costs for these plants and the personnel in charge of em.

There is also the transportation issue, if there were trains available, transporting the cement from the factory to the market will be easier and cheaper.....but it all goes on the road which means you buy trucks, put trackers on the trucks so the driver does not drive away with em, fuel them, run maintenance and on top of that, the roads are horrible.

With all these, we still complain of it's high cost.

Do you even consider how many lives the local cement industry is touching and how many people they are employing?

+bad road network
+problem with staff...
=hardbody" just gave you a bitter truth about whats on, [s]and its not that production is on for 24hrs[/s] ,,
=if you talk on transportation problem, then it should be sold cheaper in region that are closer to the site of production.. its not like the railway is not working, it could still be use for transportation to some region
=yes, the banks put security cameras to monitor customers and staff, the issue of tracking device is not a big deal
my say
#local materials are use for production
#cheap labour
#availability of rails
#major roads been damage by heavy truck carrying cement, and cause of accident(they should use the rails)
# tell me where cement is produce and sold cheap that do not have issues, china, mexico, ghana?

What I fear most is not the epileptic power supply we are experiencing presently embarassed

but what dangote and co will do when they acquire the plants cry

just take cement for instance, the price in Nigeria is so high compare to any other country on earth angry

u can't import cheap onces, ( mind u i dont support importation) wink

dangote control everything, no thanks to OBJ,y, & now uncle jona undecided
