Please, has anyone been able to get student visa appointment through a contact with the embassy this year? |
Getting PhD admission is easier and in most cases, the tuition are cheaper if you already have your masters. You stand a better chance to get scholarship as a PhD student too . You may want to contact ajanovoconsults@gmail.com for more info. All the best! Abby212: |
Well, I am aware you are an agent and you know a number of things. However, advise people to get the original transcript but not the student's copy of transcript. Student's copy of transcript was once rejected in my presence inside the embassy after wasting money and effort to authenticate at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There is a way original transcript can be collected. Just let your university address it to an address where you will be able to possess it. That's all. freedomtours: |
Appointment is currently available on the VFS website for Study visa. Good luck! |
Who got message from VFS? Check your emails |
Those of you that have recently applied for student or job seeket visa, can you share your experiences? For how long have you been waiting now or how long did it take before you got a response? |

From the news coming from Portugal as regards the recent changes in immigration policies, it appears the job seeker visa has been put on hold for now. Tbexy: |
Really ?........and you have been making research for a long time![]() Universities in Portugal do not require IELTS to give you admission. TaniumTan: |
Yes, sacrifice and go to Abuja. It is a good option. Marvis20: |
Confirm that you used the correct email address and stay calm if the email is correct. Don't be tempted to send another one yet. Just stay calm. It might be an omission but they would still respond. Cheers Marvis20: |
[quote author=keycash post=130659181]Yes but it written in Portuguese language,I will look for someone who can translate it for today or if I can see anyone who can do that ON NL .[/quot So sorry brother, If you can find a way of sending it, I'll help you with the interpretation |

adewumi20017:I saw the email you sent. A number of things are not clear before I can really understand your situation as compared with my own experience. The email actually stated their intention to reject but It appears they are giving you an ultimatum to provide more details before they take final decision on your application. 1) what kind of visa did you apply for? 2) what is the information in the annex mentioned in the email that they attached 3) Which country are you applying from? 4) and what is VEXA in the email?....this makes me ask of the country you are applying from. However, in all, I suggest you visit the embassy to get a clarity on the email and what documents you are expected to supply. You don't have much time to do that. |
adewumi20017:OK |

adewumi20017:....but in the email you received, what action did they request from you as they didn't specify the missing documents? |
adewumi20017:Yes, it is very normal to be nervous. We are all in that together. All the best bro |
adewumi20017:Would you like to share the email you got here or privately with me through email? |
adewumi20017:.......and why did you call it a pre rejection email? Did they mention anything like rejection in your email? Stay positive bro. In 2022, I got an email that I applied for the wrong type of visa without them returning my documents. I had to visit the embassy directly to fill a new application form and submitted new documents which were required for the visa type I needed to upgrade to. Finally, my visa was approved. I initially applied for 90 days Schengen visa but I finally got 120 days temporary long stay visa. So be positive minded my brother |
adewumi20017:Which documents exactly were you asked to provide? Generally, asking you to provide a missing document shows that your application is being considered and it's not been declined automatically due to the missing document. So there is hope but tell us which documents they requested |
CONFLICTING INFORMATION: Please, which is true? Someone told me he got the old character certificate which comes with fingerprints but it was rejected by the embassy and that the embassies only now accept the new digital one whereas another person told me he got the new online character certificate which does not come with fingerprints and it was rejected. I went to the state command in Adamawa and the police in charge of fingerprints said the old one is still very valid and that it is only about three countries which accepts the new online certificate. What is actually the true situation of this new online police character certificate? Please, share your experience and let us be clear about this |
They replied on Thursday, Nov 3. Please, can we discuss on phone. Kindly send me your phone number Thank you. vibrant99: |
The embassy finally sent me an email. Can somebody explain to me what next?....especially how to to get an appointment at the embassy to apply for a national visa and how would I know immediately the embassy is reopened to the public?.....Below is the content of the email I got from the embassy: " Good afternoon. The competent authorities in Portugal responded to the visa application, saying that a Schengen visa is not the adequate visa for this purpose. You will have to submit to a Temporary Stay visa, but kindly keep in mind that due to the current security situation in the city of Abuja, the Embassy of Portugal in Abuja is currently closed to the public until further notice, and therefore unable to accept national visa applications until further notice. https://vistos.mne.gov.pt/en/national-visas/general-information/type-of-visa#temporary-stay Best regards" vibrant99: |
I submitted at the VFS in Lagos. One can only apply for short stay by submitting at the VFS now abi vibrant99: |
I submitted application since August 15, 2022 to enter Portugal for 90 days for a scientific research upon an invitation by a university in Portugal. It is now almost 70 days and I have not heard from the embassy. My documents are still with them. I called the embassy two times and I was told to make inquiry through email. I have mailed three times, no response. The international relations unit of the university in Portugal also recently sent email to the embassy but I have still not get any feedback from the embassy. What could be going on? It is everywhere on their websites that decision would be taken on a short stay visa within 60 days maximum. Mine is already more than 60 days. ......What could be wrong?
