CrimeBiafra Day Celebration: Soldiers, Police Beat Up Punchman by LekkiGists(op): 2:30am On May 23, 2018
The Imo State correspondent of The PUNCH, Emeka Ihiegbulem, was on Tuesday beaten up by the men of the Nigeria Police Force, soldiers and other security agencies during the 18th anniversary celebration of the formation of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), founded by Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.

His identity card, recorder and jotter were also seized by the overzealous security men.

Members of MASSOB and BIM had on Tuesday staged a rally at old Ogbosisi (Timber market) on Tetlow Road, Owerri, to celebrate the anniversary.
It was gathered that the PUNCHman was interviewing some members of the organisations when policemen and soldiers surrounded the area and ordered everybody to sit on the floor.

He said, “I sat down with the members and brought out my identity card and my recorder to tell the officers that I am a journalist on an assignment and I am not a member.

“They ignored me and marched me along with MASSOB members into a waiting vehicle to the state police headquarters.”
Ihiegbulem said at the headquarters, a policeman snatched the ID card, recorder and jotter from him when he refused to hang the Biafran flag on his shoulder as ordered by a soldier.

He said he was “mercilessly beaten,” adding that a club was used on his head.

“My reprieve came when the commander of MOPOL 18, who knows me singled me out among the arrested MASSOB members,” the PUNCHman said.
He stated that he was taken to a nearby pharmacy, adding that the seized items had yet to be returned to him.

CrimeSARS Operatives Extort N5,000 From Woman, Friends, Threaten To Kill by LekkiGists(op): 3:36am On May 18, 2018

A digital marketer, Ifeoluwa Adegoke, caused a stir on the social media on Thursday after sharing her encounter with some operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

Adegoke said she was forced to part with N5,000 to save her life and that of her colleagues, who were accosted by the policemen around 1.20pm while going for a photo shoot.

The victim, who shared a snapshot evidence of the fund transfer and the photo of one of the policemen, alleged that the operatives threatened to kill them.

“With my encounter today, it is safe to say SARS men are armed robbers. I was going for a photo shoot in Ikorodu today (Wednesday) and armed robbers SARS pulled us over and made us pay for no reason, threatening that they were gonna waste our lives. I made a transfer so they can be traced,” she wrote on her Twitter page.

The tweet went viral as some Nigerians, who lived in the Ikorodu area, identified one of the policemen, Inspector Omotosho Olushola Charles, as a habitual extortionist.

They alleged that Charles had forced them at different times to part with various sums of money without committing any offence.

Adegoke, who later shared her ordeal in details, said the encounter gave her a new perspective of SARS men.

She said, “My colleagues and I left Surulere for Ikorodu, where we were to do a photo shoot. We were four in the car and I was the only female.

“When we got to Ikorodu, the SARS operatives, who were in a vehicle, asked our driver to stop; they were five in their bus – all fully armed.

“They said we were suspected criminals and asked us to come down. They asked the driver to come down too. They checked the car, took our phones and went through them. When they did not find anything, they said we were thieves and cult members.

“When I challenged them that we did nothing wrong, one of them said he would slap me. I told my colleagues to keep calm because I knew it would be stupid for us to argue with armed policemen. I told my colleagues that they would demand money from us in the end.”

She explained that after the search did not yield any fruit, the officials demanded N100,000.

Adegoke said she took the operatives through her social media account to show them that they were managing to survive.

“But they said they did not care. I told the inspector that since we were not the kind of people they were looking for and since they did not find anything incriminating on us, they should just release us.

“They said they were going to release us because we were not the kind of people they were looking for; but they won’t release us for free. They started cocking their guns to threaten us; they said they would shoot us.

“I approached one of them and begged that we did not have the N100,000 because we were only young people searching for our daily bread. I told him that I had just N5,000 in my account and he should allow me to transfer it to them,” she added.

She noted that the men refused to accede to her request, just as she remained adamant so as to have evidence of the extortion.

The social media enthusiast said after some murmurs of disapproval, the operatives agreed.

“After we did the transfer, they did not allow us to go until they got a credit alert on their mobile phone. The policeman who released his account number told the others that he was with his ATM card and he would withdraw the money for them to share.

“When we left, I traced the name and discovered that his bank account name, Omotosho Olushola Charles, is the same he uses for his Facebookaccount. That was how I got his picture,” she added.

The victim, who demanded that the policemen should be rounded up and prosecuted, said she and her colleagues could have been killed if they did not have any money on them.

She described the experience as an “eye-opener,” urging the authorities to reform the police force.

The Head of the Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit, Abayomi Shogunle, said Adegoke’s complaint had been received, adding that the police inspector had been arrested.

“My dearest @ife_luv12, I am glad to inform you that the account owner has been identified – Inspector Charles Omotosho, FSARS Ikorodu, Lagos. He is in custody; preliminary investigation ongoing. PCRRU will inform you on the next line of action. Sorry for the experience,” he tweeted.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Chike Oti, confirmed the arrest of the inspector, adding that the police authorities were investigating the incident.

He said, “We have arrested the policeman. His trial will commence soon. Any other person found culpable in the course of investigation will be made to face the full wrath of the law.”

CrimeFormer Nigeria’s President Aid, Reno Omokri Replies To The Arrest Of Yahoo Boys by LekkiGists(op): 2:38am On May 14, 2018
For a few days now, there seems to be a move of Nigeria’s federal government to sweep off those suspected to be internet fraudsters.
Just last week, there were series of arrests in various night clubs especially in Lagos Nigeria.

Nigerian’s received this development with a mixed reaction. The climax of it was when a lot of people including celebrities blasted one of Nigeria’s well known blogger, Nobble Igwe for revealing places he believed were hideouts for internet fraudsters.

Today in a swift, Former Nigeria’s President Aid, Reno Omokri took to his twitter handle to air his view about the development.
Here is what he tweeted:

Google ‘FG release repentant Boko Haram members’ to understand why many Nigerians are saying double standards. Nigerians dont support Yahoo! But what is the agenda of a government that frees confirmed terrorists who ‘repent’ and arrests young men who may or may not be fraudsters?

Politics“nigeria Needs N16.56tr To Construct Three Speed Rail Lines” — Amaechi by LekkiGists(op): 3:15am On May 09, 2018
https://www.post-nigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/amaechi-890x395.jpg

Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi has disclosed that Nigeria needs not less than N46 billion dollars (about N16.56 trillion) to construct its three major speed rail lines.

The minister said this on Tuesday in Papalanto, near Abeokuta, Ogun State during a joint inspection of the Lagos-Ibadan standard rail gauge with the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

According to him, the three speed rail line projects – Lagos to Kano, Lagos to Calabar and Port Harcourt to Maiduguri – were crucial to the administration of President Muhammadu.

The minister said that although the government did not have the fund ready to finance the projects, but the President had directed him to source for the fund because of the importance of the projects.

“We don’t have the money available but we have to source it.

“The Federal Government must look for the money, we may likely borrow the money because the money is not just there.
“For now, the Chinese are funding the Lagos to Kano rail project and any of those that we have approached, when they give us money for the other two projects we will gladly take.
“This is because it is a long time investment and the money will not be recovered in time,” he said.

The minister said that he had approached the Russian Nexim Bank for funding of any of the rail project.

Speaking on the 156km Lagos-Ibadan rail project, Amaechi said they were working to meet the December 2018 completion deadline.
He said upon completion, it would take a speed train of 150km per hour that would travel from Lagos to Ibadan in one hour.

“We will introduce express train that will take off from either Apapa or Ebute Metta straight to Abeokuta and to Ibadan.
“We will also introduce train that will stop in all the nine stations to give passengers choices,” he said.

This Story That Senator Dino Melaye Jumped Out Of Armed Police Moving Vehicle And Escaped Into The Bush On The Way To Lokoja From Abuja Can Only Be Believed By Those Who Believed That Story Of Someone Trekking From Lagos To Abuja.

I Have These Few Questions:-

1. Where Was Dino Melaye Seated In The Vehicle? Certainly, It Must Be In The Middle With One Policeman On His Right And Another On His Left. So How Could He Have Escaped?

2. Did He Push The Armed Policemen On The Side Through Which He Jumped Out Of The Vehicle Out First Before Jumping Out?

3. At What Speed Was The Vehicle Moving? Even At 50km/hr, No One Can Jump Out Of A Vehicle?

So Can Anyone Point Out As Well Bruises That Must Have Registered On The Senator’s Body As Well.

EducationHow Nigerian Pupils Cheat During WASSCE Through Websites by LekkiGists(op): 4:09am On Apr 25, 2018

While some youths sweat and rack their brains for answers to questions at the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination, others have perfected the art of getting cheap grades through some websites which obtain questions before the start of exams.

An investigation by LekkiGists revealed this on Tuesday.

Our correspondent had pretended to be a candidate sitting for the WASSCE being administered by the West African Examination Council.

He subscribed for answers to Commerce (Objective and Theory) from five of the result-peddling websites – naijaclass.com, examcrown.com, examsort.com, waecexpo.com and guruslodge.com.

While naijaclass, examcrown, examsort and waecexpo demanded N400 MTN recharge cards to send a link to the answers of the exam and N800 for direct answers to phones, guruslodge demanded N800 to send the answers directly to candidates’ phones.

Candidates were, however, urged on the websites to make subscriptions for all the papers and pay into certain account numbers provided on their websites in order to get discounts.

Provisions were made for “Very Important Persons.”

There were alleged testimonies of some candidates who had passed their exams after using the services of the websites.

They also displayed excellent WASSCE results of some candidates, whose names were deliberately blurred to conceal their identities.

After LekkiGists sent recharge cards to designated phone numbers on Monday, the operators of the websites, after some hours, sent confirmation texts.

Before Tuesday, the date of the exam, the operators had started sending links to the answer websites through text messages.

They said the answers would be uploaded on the sites.

By past 1pm on Tuesday, some of the websites said they had got the questions and were solving them.

They supplied our correspondent with Personal Identification Numbers with which to access the sites.

By 2.07pm, answers to the theory questions started streaming in, and in less than 45 minutes, the theory and objective answers had been supplied.

While guruslodge sent all its answers through text messages, others sent links based on the subscription of our correspondent.

Our correspondent, while trying to verify the answers to the theory questions at the end of the exam at 5pm, learnt that WASSCE candidates submitted the question papers with their answer sheets.

LekkiGists, however, contacted two candidates who wrote the exam to ascertain the questions asked by the examiners.

Candidate A, who wrote the exam in a public school in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, recalled answering questions bordering on division of labour, contract, reasons for consumer protection, second tier security market, calculation of working capital, among others.

Candidate B, another public school pupil, who wrote his exam in the Somolu area of Lagos, gave a similar highlight.

He said, “We had eight questions and we were asked to answer five. Some of the questions are: State three disadvantages and five advantages of division of labour? State the differences between public enterprises and public company? What is contract? Calculate the account of…”

A look at the answers provided by the websites showed they had the questions correctly.

For instance, examsort answered the questions on second tier market, which it claimed was the 6th question on the paper. It also defined contract.

Examcrown highlighted the reasons for consumer protection, which it said was question number 7.

The others also addressed the questions stated by the pupils.

However, a look at the objective questions showed that the website operators had conflicting answers.

Naijaclass: 1-10 DCBABDDBBB; 11-20 ABDBDCCCD; 21-30 BACCABABBC; 31-40ABCADDDADA; 41-50 CCBBCAAABB.

Examcrown: 1-10 DCBCCADBBB; 11-20 ACDADBDAAD; 21-30 BABCDAAABC; 31-40; ABABDBCADA; 41-50: CCBBBAACAB.

Examsort: DBBCCB DBBBABDADBDD DBACDBDDCADACCBB DABCAC.

Guruslodge:DCBAB DDBBBA BDBDCCCCDA B CADDDADAABCADD

DADACCBBCAAABB.

A teacher, who did not want to be identified, said he was shocked to discover such services were freely advertised on the Internet.

He expressed disgust while recounting how he came by the websites.

He said, “I was telling my younger brother of how I heard of a certain science teacher in my locality who went online to get answers to Physics practical experiments last year, instead of conducting the experiments with his pupils; and they all failed when the results came out.

“My brother remarked, ‘He didn’t get his answers from the right site.’ He further enlightened me on several sites on the Internet where by sending recharge cards of N400, pupils can have access to questions and answers of the exams they were writing in real-time.

“These sites always have all the exam papers, probably a day or two before the exams. And they have the solutions too. There are many of them advertising and competing for patronage like legitimate business. On these sites are the testimonies of Nigerian students. I saw the testimony of a student on examcrown.com who got 7 A1s and a B3 after using their service.

“I went to one of such sites and in front of me were solutions to the Physics exam that pupils were sweating in the hall on. The solutions online were posted on the 19th of April, a day before the exam.

“Students typically have access to the solutions a few minutes to the commencement of the exams, of course to make maximum sales, as PINs could be shared if the answers were released earlier. Several of these pupils still need the cooperation of invigilators and their schools to use their phones in the exam halls to access the answers, while others take advantage of large examination centres to do their thing surreptitiously. It breaks my heart as a teacher.”

He noted that answers to the National Examination Council’s questions were usually online two days before the exam, as some of the websites gave pupils NECO answers free.

He lamented that the situation had affected the standard of education in the country.

“So, we have pupils getting eight distinctions now and 300 in UTME, yet having no substance in their heads. These ones will gain admissions into university and block the chances of good students who legitimately got their five credits and 220 in UTME. My John James could not gain admission with a score of over 260 in UTME last year. Godstime is a great student, but he will be lucky to gain admission with the 280 he scored this year.

“Why are we so messed up as a country? Who are these Nigerians who are destroying this system for pecuniary gains? Aren’t they the same Nigerians who complain daily of the state of this country? Aren’t they the youth who should be the future of this country? The same young people who cry daily of how our father’s generation failed us?

“The rot in education is particularly sad because it has ripple effects, spreading across all sectors. Imagine students using these sites to get eight distinctions and 330 so they can go study medicine and surgery to become doctors. Imagine them wanting to become engineers, scientists, lawyers, etc. They will most likely have to oil their way through school and come out deficient in whatever fields they find themselves in…even with great results. Are our exam bodies aware of these sites?” he added.

The spokesperson for WAEC, Demianus Ojijeogu, said the exam body was aware of the website operators, adding that their activities were a sad comment on education in Nigeria.

He said, “It did not start today. We have been following up on it for a while now. Our investigations have, however, shown that sometimes they recycle old questions or supply fake questions. And even if they are correct, it is after the examinations have commenced. We have asked the supervisors to be our eyes.

“The supervisors are not our workers; they are supplied by the ministry of education. We have asked them to help us and prevent the students from entering exam halls with mobile phones. We have also upgraded our security facilities and we are deploying technologies as well.

“This situation is not peculiar to just WASSCE, other examinations are affected as well and it is sad for education in Nigeria. It is sad because it means if I can just sit down and someone will supply the answers to me, why then do I need to read?

“Our manpower has been overstretched. We have some of our workers working on day and night shifts. We are working round-the-clock and we urge the cooperation of other stakeholders to stop this ugly trend.”

Nairaland General45 Officers Who Arrested Evans Get Special Promotion By Police Service Commision by LekkiGists(op): 4:37am On Apr 20, 2018
https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/evans2.jpg

Yesterday, the Police Service Commission (PSC) said that 45 officers who participated in the successful arrest of notorious kidnap kingpin, Evans, have been granted special promotion.

A statement by Ikechukwu Ani, a spokesperson for the PSC, said the promotions were ratified yesterday at a plenary presided over by Mike Okiro, chairman of the commission.

Thirteen of the officers were promoted in acting capacity because they weren’t eligible for substantive promotion, the PSC said. The promotions come a year after Evans was arrested in Lagos alongside over 20 suspected members of his gang. The police have been widely hailed for the operation, which has been described as one of their highest points in recent years. The statement read:

"The Police Service Commission has approved special promotion of forty five police officers and acting appointments for another 13 officers who played major roles in the arrest of Chukwudumuje Onuoamadike, aka Evans, a notorious kidnapper and 21 Members of his gang.

The commission took the decision today, Thursday, April 19th, 2018, at its 27th Plenary Meeting which began in Abuja on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 and presided over by the Chairman of the commission, Sir Dr. Mike Mbama Okiro, a retired Inspector General of Police. The promotion and acting appointments were based on the superlative performance of the officers in the arrest of the deadly gang who terrorized Nigerians.

The officers are of the Intelligence Response Team, (IRT), Special Tactical Squad (STS) and Technical Intelligence Unit under the direct supervision and coordination of the IGP Monitoring Unit at the Force Headquarters Abuja. "The promotion and acting appointments were also necessitated by the need to match rank with schedules of duty either being performed or to be performed by the officers and for their acts of gallantry and courage exhibited in the course of duty.

PoliticsREVEALED: 5 Times The Mace Has Come Under Serious Attack In Nigeria’s History by LekkiGists(op): 3:24am On Apr 20, 2018
https://secure.saharareporters.com/sites/default/files/styles/normal_medium/public/stolen%20mace.jpg?itok=AShsJMJ6

We go back in Nigeria’s history to present five such instances where the mace has either been stolen or used as a weapon of mass destruction.

Here are the 5 times the Mace has come under serious attack in Nigeria history.

1. Ebubedike, 1962
Chief Obafemi Awolowo was Premier of the Western Region in 1962 when Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa tried to impose a state of emergency in Nigeria’s western region.

It was a move that didn’t sit well with Awolowo.

As lawmakers deliberated Balewa’s position in the Western regional assembly on May 25, 1962, Mr. Ebubedike (from Ozubulu in Anambra State) who represented Ajeromi/Ifelodun/Badagry East in parliament, seized the mace and deployed same as a head battering weapon; with a fist fight breaking all around him.

As chairs were flung all over the floor of the House, Ebubedike grabbed the mace and dared anyone to come close. When the Speaker, Hon. Prince Adeleke Adedoyin and other lawmakers came close, Ebubedike used the mace on them.

The mace as a weapon of head destruction was thus born in Nigeria.

2. Okadigbo, 2000

Chuba Okadigbo was president of the fourth senate when then President Olusegun Obasanjo began moves to impeach him by using presidency loyalists in parliament.

Okadigbo snatched the mace and took it to his house in Abuja–all in an attempt to stall his impeachment.

When the police arrived Okadigbo’s residence to retrieve the mace, he told them they were only going to get the mace if they killed him.

“The police arrived at 5.55 a.m. (0455 GMT) in six jeeps fully loaded with armed officers”, Okadigbo told the BBC afterwards.

“They told me they had come to collect the mace and that they were acting on orders from the Inspector General of Police. I said I would never give them the mace. I have to be dead before you get the mace, I told them.

“This is executive lawlessness and is unprecedented in Nigeria’s history,” Okadigbo fumed.

After the police left his residence, Okadigbo (fondly called the Oyi of Oyi) took the mace with him to Ogbunike, his home town in Anambra State, and left the senate’s symbol of authority in the custody of a seven foot python.

3. Rivers State, 2013
When Speaker Otelemaba Amachree, convened a session of the legislature to amend certain portions of the Rivers State budget on July 9, 2013, he didn’t know trouble was brewing in the horizon.

Hon Evans Bapakaye Bipi who represented Ogu/Bolo constituency, arrived the Rivers House of Assembly with thugs, pounced on house leader Chidi Lloyd and the mace was next.

Reports say a fake mace had been smuggled into the house by the anti-Amaechi lawmakers in an attempt to unseat the speaker.

Rotimi Amaechi is a serving minister and was Governor of Rivers State at the time.

Evans Bipi then walked up to Chidi Lloyd who was a pro-Amaechi lawmaker and slapped him in the face. The speaker who had just arrived the chamber, tried to prevent the slaps and shouting from becoming a full blown fight, but Bipi went for him too; the (fake) mace in his vice grip.

Hon Lloyd then seized the mace from wherever and used it to attack Hon Chinda.

Chinda ended up in a hospital from mace beating.

4. House of Reps, June 2015
On June 23, 2015, lawmakers in the federal House of Representatives didn’t like the fact that the APC was trying to decide their principal officers from Bourdillon, Lagos.

So, they went to war among themselves.

House Speaker Yakubu Dogara and Majority leader Femi Gbajabiamila supporters went for each other’s throats.

Dogara had defeated Gbajabiamila to emerge speaker.

One group of lawmakers tried to grab the mace but that wasn’t allowed to happen by the other group of lawmakers.

The poor mace couldn’t but heave a sigh of relief after.

5. Benue State, June 2015
The APC and PDP lawmakers engaged themselves in a free for all fight at plenary when the speaker of the Benue Assembly, Mr Terkimbi Kyange, read a letter from the APC.

The letter read that the APC was the majority party in the house following the defection of a PDP legislator.

As tempers flared and blows rained, the Sergeant At-Arms quickly removed the mace from harm’s way.

So, yes, Omo-Agege of Delta Central is pretty much in good company.

Hello everybody, it is very alarming and shocking that we are taking this big brother naija thingy far. The insults and the curses are getting way out of hand.

This is just a game, we are all one. It’s not like the guys in the house are from another country. They are ours, we are one! By monday, this will all be over, the housemates will go about living their lives what happens then? I see some of the insults in my comment section but I chose to ignore because I believe this will end soon.

Choose whoever you want to support without insulting one another. It is exhausting. Stop with the negativity, stop imposing your choices on others. It is not a do or die affair. Let people breathe.

Celebrities“1 Song Per Year” – Small Doctor Might Be On The Path Of Becoming Irrelevant by LekkiGists(op): 1:39am On Apr 18, 2018
https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/875731001451966464/DyY2cwIi_400x400.jpg

If Olamide, Wizkid & Davido thinks it’s right to drop songs back to back in order to stay Relevant, then Who is Small Doctor to drop 1 song per year?

Is it Laziness or Scarcity of lyrics in his music bank? or is it because he has risen so fast in the music industry and he felt it’s time to rest a bit? Only God knows

Nigeria’s music industry is getting competitive by the day and with the way and manner, Small Doctor is handling his career life at the moment, he might just be working towards becoming the irrelevantin the music industry.

Olamide, Wizkid, Davido and a host of others that are making it big in the Industry today are all products of hard work and consistency.
Whether their songs made hits or not they keep on releasing songs and doing what they had to do.

When Small Doctor released “Penalty” in 2016, he refused to release any other track until December 2017 when he dropped “This Year” with the hope that it will surpass “Penalty“.

Little did he know that a festive song like “This Year” will die at Yuletide and rise up again next festive season. He can ask Jaywon!

While other artistes have been dropping dope street songs, the supposed King of the street is yet to drop a single track. Apparently, the King is still sleeping and only God knows when he will wake up from his slumber.

A single track in a year when you’re not Legendary 2Baba. Small Doctor really needs to get back to his feet, hit the studio and drop some back-to-back jams before it’s too late.

Abi, What Do You Guys Think?

Politics“the Big Looters Did Not Cover Their Tracks Well” – Buhari Says by LekkiGists(op): 3:45am On Apr 17, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday bemoaned the looting of the treasury by past administrations, saying the stealing was too much.

The looters, he said, were so inept that they did not cover their tracks well.

The President spoke in London while receiving the Buhari Diaspora Support Organisation led by Mr. Charles Sylvester.

Buhari also met with All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Abuja House in London yesterday. Details of their meeting were not disclosed.

The President said his administration would justify the people’s trust in it, but lamented that it was impossible to “identify and recover all the loot.”

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina said the failure of some past administrations put the country where it is today.

The statement reads: “I am happy that people like you are here, on your own, defending the country. You have shown courage and sacrifice. I assure you that your confidence in us won’t be abused, we will do our best to justify it.”

“The failure of some of the leadership we had in the past led to our not being able to capitalise on resources to improve the lot of the people”.

Wicked people, the President said, plundered the country, “and kept Nigerians poor”. He added that looking at the condition in which his administration met the country, without savings and the economy badly vandalised, “we have not done too badly.”

The damage done to the economy in the years of plunder, he said, was massive, adding that the government was doing its best to recover some of the loot.

The President said: “If they had used 50 per cent of the money we made, when oil prices went as high as $143 per barrel, and stabilised at $100 with production at 2.1 million barrels per day for many years, Nigerians would have minded their businesses.

“You could almost grow food on our roads, as they were abandoned. The stealing was so much, and they were so inept that they could not even cover the stealing properly. I wonder how all those things could have happened to our country.”

He hailed the group for identifying with the country, “when you could have stayed here, and be comfortable.”

Sylvester said the group was happy with the President’s achievements so far.

He said: “You met a difficult situation, but you have overcome most of them. We are happy with the agriculture revolution, the ease of doing business, the anti-corruption war, the employment of youths through the N-Power programme, and the blockage of leakages in the public sector through the Treasury Single Account (TSA).

“We are proud of the speed with which you recovered the abducted Dapchi schoolgirls. It shows you as a worthy General. We are happy that you have declared for 2019. Majority of Nigerians are happy, but agents of corruption and darkness are unhappy.

“The same God, who healed you when you were ill, will grant you victory in the 2019 elections. You are a General who does not fear combat, either with Generals or non-Generals. We declare our love and support for you. You are fixing the faulty foundations of our country and second term is when you will build the enduring structure.”

Politics“why I Asked Nigerians To Stone Buhari” – APC Leader Tony Momoh Reveals by LekkiGists(op): 3:37am On Apr 17, 2018

A former Minister of Information and APC chieftain, Prince Tony Momoh has explained why he asked Nigerians to stone President Muhammadu Buhari and members of his government if they failed to perform.

Momoh had during the build up to the 2015 general elections called on Nigerians to stone the APC government if they don’t leave up to expectations.

Speaking with The Sun, the former minister said Nigerians were already stoning the president despite his monumental achievements.

He said, “We are in a democracy. As Minister of Information, I gave Nigerians information; one, to satisfy your need for information; secondly, to give you the information to do what you like to do with it.

“So, people who are saying that APC has done nothing have a right through the information they have to achieve the aims they want, but that does not reduce from the fact that objectively, APC has done something.

“Whatever happens, I said stone us if we don’t perform, but some people are stoning us, not that we didn’t perform, but because they are in opposition and cannot appreciate that we are preforming. In the area of security, nobody would say that we have not tried.

“Nobody will say that the challenges we have in the Northeast, Middle Belt, South-south, Southeast, Southwest and even in the Northwest, are not being attended to. In the area of agriculture, nobody can say that we have not attended to eating what we grow, and growing what we want to eat. We came out of recession. There are a lot of things we have done.”

A Junior Secondary School (JSS) 2 student, Atoo Aondoana, has been held by the Police in Benue State for his involvement in armed m theft along Makurdi Alaide highway in the state.

Aondoana alongside his co-conspirator, an elderly cleaner who works with the Nigeria Airforce in Makurdi, Peter Aghande, who is being held for supplying the military uniforms used for the robbery are presently helping the police with further information about their illegitimate activities.

In an interview with Royaloya.com the 18-year-old suspected robber in military uniform, who lives with his father, publicly confessed to the crime, detailing that he bought the military uniform from someone.

"We carry hunting weapons but I was not arrested with any weapon. I'm a secondary school student in JSS2 at Ikpayongo.

My dad is a farmer and I'm the only child of my mom who is now wedded to another man in Makurdi, " he told reporters.

Aondoana said he seems bad about his unwell behaviour, stressing that a friend introduced him to the robbery gang.

Aghande claimed that the Airforce personnel used to give him bad outfits to throw away and the boy begged him to give them to him rather than getting rid of them. "But I was shocked the day when I heard that the boy went to rob with it."
