Arsene Wenger was on Friday handed a three-match touchline ban and fined by the Football Association over comments he made about the refereeing of Sunday's Premier League game against West Brom.
In a separate case, the Arsenal boss has also been asked by English football's governing body to provide his observations on what he said about penalty decisions that went against the Gunners in each of their past two matches over the festive period, against the Baggies and Chelsea.
"Arsene Wenger will serve a touchline ban for Arsenal's next three matches after he was charged with misconduct," an FA statement said.
"It follows an independent regulatory commission hearing today at which the Arsenal manager admitted that his language and behaviour in the match officials' changing room after the West Brom game on Sunday was abusive, improper and questioned the integrity of the match referee. He was also fined £40 000 ($54 000)."
The veteran French coach was furious after the 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns on New Year's Eve, when Arsenal defender Calum Chambers was penalised by referee Mike Dean for a handball that resulted in the home side scoring a last minute spot-kick equaliser.
Arsenal conceded another penalty in their Premier League fixture against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, when Eden Hazard went down following a challenge from Hector Bellerin.
The match ended 2-2 after defender Bellerin thrashed home an equaliser in stoppage time.
Wenger will start his touchline ban for Sunday's FA Cup third-round tie at Nottingham Forest. His ban will also cover the League Cup semifinal first leg at Chelsea on January 10 and next weekend's Premier League trip to Bournemouth.
Nottingham Forest wasted little time in teasing Wenger over his ban.
"Mr Wenger, if you'd like to upgrade your stand ticket to a hospitality package then you can do so by following this link. #NFFC," the club said on its official Twitter account.
The link provided Wenger with a list of the hospitality packages on offer for the match.
Wenger was asked about his controversial comments during a press conference on Friday ahead of Sunday's match at the City Ground.
"I maintain what I said in the press conference (after the Chelsea game) – 100 per cent. I have nothing to change in that," said the Gunners boss.
"I've been in England for 21 years and I try to serve this game with honesty and integrity and when I have something to say I will say it. On that front, nothing will change, never."

Neymar described his two-goal display as the “best game” of his career as he inspired the greatest comeback in Champions League history Barcelona thrashed Paris Saint-Germain 6-1.
The Catalans became the first side to come back from a 4-0 first leg deficit as Neymar scored twice in the final two minutes and then teed up a 95th-minute winner by Sergi Roberto to reach the quarter-finals 6-5 on aggregate.
“This is the best game I have ever played. For what it meant, for what we experienced and because I am in great form,” the Brazilian told BeIN Sports.

Luis Suarez’s early opener, a Layvin Kurzawa own goal and Lionel Messi’s penalty put Barca 3-0 up inside 50 minutes.
However, the Spanish champions looked down and out when Edison Cavani volleyed home what seemed to be the clinching away goal for PSG.
“Before… we believed and now even more,” Neymar added on Barca’s chances winning a sixth Champions League.
“When they scored the goal we had a little dip but then there was the fourth and the penalty. We concentrated and Sergi’s goal came.
“I know that we have made history. A team like this can do anything. The game was lost and we went out to play without pressure and with joy, throwing everything forward.”
Barca boss Luis Enrique announced last week that he will leave the club at the end of the season after he was heavily criticised following their 4-0 humiliation in Paris three weeks ago.
And Enrique took the chance to round on his critics as he thanked the “faith” of the Barca players and fans.

Defender Gerard Pique even predicted a baby boom in the Catalan capital set off by Roberto’s outstretched right leg sparking delirium among nearly 100,000 at the Camp Nou.
“I would say to the hospitals of Barcelona to hire nurses. Tonight people will make a lot of love,” said Pique, the partner of Colombian pop star Shakira.

And Enrique confessed he had questioned why Roberto doesn’t find the net with more regularity.
“I saw him score a lot of goals in the youth team and it is always a joke between us ‘why doesn’t Sergi Roberto score?’ And then he scores tonight,” added Enrique.

The Defence Headquarters has revealed that female suicide bombers in the North East now use infants to evade detection.
The organisation said the suicide bombers carry out their dastardly act by carrying babies on their back, so that they are passed for innocent nursing mothers.
The Acting Director Defence information, Brig.-Gen. Rabe Abubakar, said in a statement in Abuja on Friday that the attention of the DHQ had been drawn to the new tactic.
It was revealed that the two recent suicide bomb attacks in Madagali, Adamawa State followed this pattern.
Abubakar said: “The DHQ wishes to seize this opportunity to appeal to members of the public to be patient and cooperate with the military and other security agencies while carrying out thorough security search and checks as the essence is to nip in the bud the murderous intention of the Boko Haram suicide bombers.
“The DHQ wishes to state further that the usual traffic “go-slow” at military and security check points as a result of rigorous security checks are not meant to cause public discomfort or a deliberate action to induce traffic disruptions on our roads, but an effort put in place towards protecting the lives and properties of our innocent citizens.
“Members of the public are, therefore, urged to always volunteer useful information to the military and other security agencies that would assist in exposing Boko Haram and their evil machinations in our society and to make our communities safe and secure for all to live.”

        “He gets into dangerous
positions,” Mourinho added.
“He has a good shot. He can

and is good in the air. So he can

from set-pieces.

good penalty taker too — but

don’t get penalties!
“He has a lot of qualities to score
goals, so let’s see.

more about the team than
