Sports › If You Want To Sponsor NPL, Match The Same Offer Extended To Manchester United by Lempeh(op): 11:11pm On Feb 18, 2013
Nigeria Premier League title rights owners, Total Promotions have demanded that Glo should match the same offer they are extending to Manchester United, if they want to sponsor the League.
In a press statement signed by Mrs Funke Akerele, Total Promotions said it only asked GLO to match the Television activation planned by MTN at the cost of N350M per year for 4 years.
The statement read:
"Our attention has been drawn to the publication in the media as to why the announced agreement between Total Promotion Ltd and GLO has stalled. It was reported that Total Promotions demanded for the sum of N1.5b from GLO to surrender the football premier league title right they won three years ago."
"All we asked GLO was to match the TV activation planned by MTN at N350m per season for four years as it does for Manchester United for much higher fees. Our compensation is commission derivable while GLO on the other hand would be able to promote its services and necessary activation throught his medium."
"If for whatever reason GLO is unwilling to go the TV activation route, another option was presented to the min the form of a one-off buy-out in the sum of N250m.We want to stress that at no time did Total Promotions demand for N1.5b neither did we go back on our concession to pass the Title Right to GLO subject to agreeing terms.
Do you think Glo will agree to that.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Do You Think David De Gea Is A Better Goal Keeper Than Joe Hart This Season by Lempeh(op): 7:25pm On Feb 15, 2013
Since his €21 million move toManchester United, Former Athletico
Madrid goal keeper De Gea has been themed with critics from many
people for his incosistency. but wednesday's clash whichsaw
manchester united force realmadrid to a 1 - 1 draw at theSantiago
Bernabéu yesterday night proves people who critizes the 22 year old
wrong.
The spainard put on a Brilliant performance yesterday night in the
Uefa Champions League against the Los Blancos. making 8 superb saves.
Now comparing him with Manchester City goal keeper Joe hart, i think
the Red devil stopper is a better keeper this season than his
neighbours stopper. Joe harthas not been good for the City's side
this season as that of last season when they were crowned champion in
the EPL, he has made alot of mistakes, the recent one was their
meeting against southhampton last weekend as they were been defeated 3
goals to 1 putting the premier league in tatters. According to a news
paper the Sun, Mancini was quoted saying "Joe has made too many
mistakes. He has not been good enough."
SAF: '' If De Gea is a bad GK, Iwant a bad GK."
DIFFERENCE !!!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Fast Approaching: The Uefa Champions League First Round Knock Out Stage. by Lempeh(op): 9:05am On Feb 09, 2013
Fast Approaching: The Uefa Champions LeagueFirst Round Knock Out Stage.
F ast Approaching: The Uefa Champions League First Round Knock Out Stage. The Uefa Champion League is fastApproaching with Interesting Matches to watch and can't afford to miss, the first round of the knock stage normally known as the roundof 16 will kickoff on the 12th febuary this year,
The Round of 16 which Was done on the 20th of December 2012, last year to be precise has bring forth many exciting Matches that could see top club. Leave theTournament in an early stage.
Do you think AC Millan can stop Barcelona ? Can Underdogs, Celtic Overcome the Italian Gaints? Will Alex Ferguson Side's survive against Mourinho and Ronaldo? Will the Struggling top 4 battler(Arsenal) Stop the impressive German's form?
Am looking forward to see result of these tie.
A View at some of the " Must Not Miss Matches" Below.
Celtic Vs Juventus
The Scotland league table toppers Celtic are seen as one of the underdogs, in theknock out stage, Although nobody can write them off, As the give a Shock to Everybody beating Mighty Barcelona. However we can be overshadowed with Celtic Win against Barcelona, the Serie A Champions Juventus also Eliminated the Currengt Champions Chelsea in the group Stage. Celtic at home in the first leg, i think they will back themselves to get afirst leg lead at home, beforegoning to Italy . First Leg: 12th February, 2013 Second Leg: 6th March, 2013
Real Madrid Vs Manchester United
One of the ties you can't afford to Miss. Madrid will be visiting Old Trafford with Ronaldo playing Against His former club since he left in 2008 and has Vow not to celebrate if happens to score against them ,The Jose Mourinho's Side will aiming for a Massive win while Manchester United will be looking to use the home advantage to Win match and aim for a draw away.. First Leg: 13th February, 2013 Second Leg: 5th March, 2013
Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich
The Gunners have not been in their best these season, So i think it's difficult tie. yet again and they have to try and put a cushion between themselves. While the Bundesliga league leaders. Bayern will tend to make useof their impressive form and chances to tear Arsenal apart First Leg: 19th February, 2013 Second Leg: 13th March, 2013
AC Milan Vs Barcelona
Another interesting tie which would be fitting if it was the final. The Milan have been struggling this season, with a win today and loss tomorrow, So Barcelona will take the oppurtunity of Milan's poor form to win themaway. AC Milan have no choice but to attack and try to score goals because they will be pinned inside their own half during the second match at the Nou Camp. First Leg: 20th February, 2013 Second Leg: 12th March

Sports › Is Emmanuel Emenike The Heir To Rashidi Yekini by Lempeh(op): 4:51pm On Feb 06, 2013
With His Current form and performance for the Super Eagles of nigeria in the on going African Cup of Nations, Spartak Moscow striker
Emmanuel Emenike has been an Eye Catching to many football fan in the country and have been creating bubbles around the corner, comparing
him with the Legendary Rashidi Yekini.
After taking these in to consideration, i can see a similar fact about the two. As a striker(Yekini) during his Era, he has always been
praised for his hard work, and has been quoted by the Caf president Issa Hayatou as a man who has gave everything for his country during
the time of his death.Though his death was a shock of "the whole African football" as quoted by bbcfootball.com

Rashidi Yekini was a Fantastic and Prolific goal scorer, scoring 37 goals in 58 apperance in his international career, his a player who is powerful and fearless and i can Emenike possesing such qualities, he is also a player who strong with the ball, fearless and also a deadly
finisher. Today i think we have a striker who is trying to come some miles close to how good was the legendary Yekini was, With his Powerful, Pacy , fearless and Finising ability. The status speaks for it's self 30 goals in 50 matches for Karabukspor in Turkey,18 goals in 37 matches for Spatark Moscow, and also a joint top scorer at the 2013 On goning African Cup of Nation.

Cheers!!!

Sports › Chelsea's John Obi Mikel Not To Appeal Against Three-match Ban by Lempeh(op): 7:31am On Dec 07, 2012
Chelsea defensive mildfielder John Obi Mikel has decided not to make an appeal against his three-match ban and £60,000 fine for using abusive words for referee Mark Clattenburg in the that saw the blues been defeated 3-2 by Manchester United
The Blues are aware that players have been given a long period of suspension for abuse against an official and, it was reported that there is a sense of relief that the Football Association’s regulatory commission accepted the mitigation that was put forward for Mikel’s behaviour.
Mikel had been told by Ramires, his team-mate, tha he thought Clattenburg had used the word “monkey” when he spoke to Mikel during the game, prompting the subsequent confrontation and threat in the referee’s office.
Clattenburg has since been cleared by both the police and the FA of the Ramires allegation but the commission did also believe that Mikel genuinely thought he had been racially abused when he made his threat.
But for that mitigating factor,Mikel’s ban would have been“significantly longer”.
Mikel admitted to the commission that he had used threatening and/or insulting words and/or behaviour in the official’s changing room at the end of the game and quickly decided on Thursday to accept his punishment.
It means he will miss the Premier League fixtures against Sunderland and Aston Villa , as well as the Capital One Cup quarter-final against Leeds United .
The 25 year old, who signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea on Wednesday, will still be available to play in the Club World Cup in Japan next week.
“The regulatory commission’s independent chairman, Christopher Quinlan QC, emphasised that the Independent Regulatory Commission accepted, as did the FA, that at the time he threatened the referee the player genuinely believed that the referee had racially abused him,” said an FA statement
