Where is the contradiction?
Size is a factor, or do you think it will be easy for someone who has never owned a large breed dog to handle one? The sheer strength is an issue. If you have held a caucasian on a leash while its trying to attack someone, you'll know what i mean

I think its exaggeration, (mostly gotten from people who read about dogs online and have little or no practical knowledge)
