You generally don’t need a scholarship as tuition is free for public Unis, the few scholarships available depend on course of study and highly competitive.

I would not recommend social media or mass communication if you find such a course in English in Germany as you need advanced German for that field. Unless you plan to leave Germany after studying

To be honest I never planned to move to Germany, but at the time it just made more sense as Germany is the economic powerhouse of Europe, less migration compared to UK, NL and FR (especially from people of color) and studying is free, you just need a sponsorship letter from someone in Germany or a blocked account.

Sure there are Germans with African backgrounds elected to the German parliament but we will always be seen as an African, regardless of what we achieved. Even Eastern European/Asian people born here are not considered Germans unless they found a way to get a German last name.

How best is it to enter germany currently, through education or what other route??

Work: Getting a job offer from Nigeria, (I have met some people who have done this). The main risk is losing your job during the six month probation period (Probezeit). Depending on your residence permit, you may need to find another job within a certain period or risk having to leave Germany. If you can’t find a job and want to stay, you may be eligible for a job seeker permit or the Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte), which can give you additional time to find employment. You’ll generally need around €13,000 in savings or a sponsorship letter (Verpflichtungserklärung) from someone in Germany.


Study: Best if you’re relatively young (ideally under 30 for a master’s or 25 for a bachelor’s). Choose a field with good job prospects, such as nursing or engineering. IT is a difficult job market right now, so I’d be cautious about it.

I’ve lived in Germany for 7 years, work a cushioned office job, drive an SUV and now a German citizen. I’m happy to share my experience, advise and answer any questions.

I have no clue where he is, and honestly, I don’t care. I’m just pointing out that it makes no sense—he supposedly “touched down in Frankfurt,” but the photo clearly shows Berlin Central Station. Plus, he was in “Frankfurt” on December 20, also in Berlin on December 20, then in Munich on December 22, and somewhere in southern Bavaria that same day.
