Christianity Etc › Re: Is Repentance Only About Going For Altar Call? by lexy2014: 3:10pm On Oct 12, 2025
MadamExcellency:
What are you arguing? They heard the word, believed, confessed publicly, and destroyed evil work before all men.

Acts 19:18-19 KJV
And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. [19] Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men : and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

Acts 19:20 KJV
So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
ok...

first, can you show me the argument you are referring to?

I will be most glad if you can do that.

second, are the words I used in my question too ambiguous for simple understanding?

my question goes thus:

Can you show me where it was stated in the scripture you quoted that the audience "publicly confess their repentance and acceptance of Christ"?

from the highlighted, which scripture was I referring to?

which part of my question does Acts 19:20 answer?

from Acts 19:18-19 that you quoted, did anyone ask the people in that scripture to come for altar call?

When people publicly confess their repentance and acceptance of Christ, what's it called in your church?!.
Can you show me where it was stated in the scripture you quoted that the audience "publicly confess their repentance and acceptance of Christ"?

The disciples of Jesus, In short, Peter, whom the church (government of Christ) is built upon, started it.

Acts 2:1,38,41
[1]And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
[38]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[41]Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

I have seen a famous Fuji musician, Adéwálé Ayuba by name who come out for altar call.
Where in the scripture you quoted was altar call observed or practiced?

Goodlady:
Not all Church.
Just that Nigeria is a funny country where economy has bastardized reasoning and logic of faiths.
How it's done, if you come for alter call, you ll be shown welfarism at the church premises and a check up for few weeks. If you don't come for invited programs, you d be left to role on your own volition.
So that action of check up, don't see it as they're looking for ya membership by force.
Churches aren't desperate.
As in Churches o!
Few dedicated members better pass crowd of anyhowness.
If checking up is not looking for members, what's the essence of invite to church programmes?

Learn to Read With Open Minds and Understanding, for the Police PR said' there is a Lead already they are working on' but you just cherry-pick the one sentence you like or appeal to you!
Don't just criticize for Criticism sake- as we know the Social Media gaulible audiences do!
It's easy to talk Cheap in your Comfort Zone but what NIGERIANS want is Solutions and Actions!
Our Police Officers and Other Law -Enforcement Agencies- are trying their best, Let's keep on Encouraging them to do more!
It is well with Nigeria!
While briefing journalists in Abuja on Saturday, the Force spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said investigators had already identified the locations of some of the arms suppliers and assured Nigerians that arrests would follow soon.

“We are yet to arrest a suspect in that regard, but we have very credible leads we are working on. We already know the location of some of the gunrunners and suppliers, and we assure Nigerians that in our subsequent updates, we will be able to tell you how far we have come,” Hundeyin stated.
Is this the "lead"?

The man said they "already know". Is that still a lead?

Or are you defending for defending sake?

Why will the police know the location of gun suppliers and start announcing it on TV instead of keeping That info confidential until arrests are made?

Is he expecting the gun runners to sit down and wait for the police to come arrest them?

The National Assembly is unduly overpopulated by legislators from the old Northern region. So it's next to impossible to alter the constitution to remove the chapters that hinder the creation of balancing states in the south.
If it's possible to change the chapters of the constitution that make state creation next to impossible in the National Assembly, new states can be created to bridge the gap.
Another method is threat by the south to pull out of Nigeria if the north refuses political restructuring.
Did I ask you about national assembly or I asked you If land mass is not an issue, how do you want the 2 southern regions to individually have as many states as the entire north?

In a federation originally formed by different regions, it's criminal to use land mass or population figures to create new federating units .
Bola Tinubu cried for more than 13 years to restructure Nigeria politically from the present fraudulent political structure.

The military dictators from Northern Nigeria created the 36 federating units (20 in the old Northern region but only 17 in the two old southern regions).
Those military dictators also supervised a constitution (1999 constitution) that makes it next to impossible to alter the political structure of 36 federating units and Abuja.
That is not what I asked you.

Am asking If land mass is not an issue, how do you want the 2 southern regions to individually have as many states as the entire north?

Typical of those who profited from Awo's free education in the southwest but are still ignorant. He doesn't understand that landmass is NEVER USED as criterion in creating new federating units in a country formed by different regions.
East, West and Northern regions formed Nigeria at independence.

But today, Northern region got divided into 20 new federating units while the two southern regions got only 17 new federating units.
This tilted the balance of power and political representation between the three regions against the whole southern regions .
If land mass is not an issue, how do you want the 2 southern regions to individually have as many states as the entire north?
