September 17, 2025 — CEDO and his daughter/niece, Laureen Onoja, were arrested by the Homicide Section of the Force Headquarters in connection with the ongoing Double murder investigation. They have since been released on bail, pending the outcome of further investigations.
Given the gravity of the allegations and in the interest of ensuring a fair and unbiased investigative process, CEDO must immediately step down from all roles within the South East Economic Development Committee (SEDC), as well as withdraw from any presidential campaign activities and keynote speaking engagements or duties until the matter is fully resolved.
The families of DSC Oluwapelumi Adebayo and Photographer Ayobami Aiyepeku remain steadfast in their pursuit of justice. We are committed to exploring all legal avenues to ensure that those responsible are held accountable. It will not be business as usual as justice must be done and seen to be done.
We urge the public and the media to allow law enforcement agencies carry out their duties without interference, and we call on all relevant authorities to conduct a thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation.
Justice must prevail.

2.Why was the freezer not dented in online picture shared, but hilux vehicle was? Sounds fishy
2. Why the reported burning of Mr. Aiyepeku's body ? Maybe to cover up.

The whole story get K-leg,
Only one person killed, cut the body, put it in a freezer, carried the freezer in the bäck of a truck, then started a chase with police for almost 2 hrs. Something that would have not lasted 5-10 min if actually truth.
Then so called person that the whole Lokoja was looking for came back to Lokoja , booked a hotel, got himself naked and commited suicide. Abah we no too foolish..

Suddenly Ayos body came back all glued together close to state house, but burnt . God dey

The unfortunate path, is that the wife Laureen Praise Onoja (God no go allow us marry our enemy), allegedly confessed to some incriminating timeline of incident, which shows the whole incident was produced and directed by same people.

My instinct tells me, its all a lie, both Pelumi and Ayo were killed by same people. Pelumi was a cover up or Ayo. Either they saw or knew something. Im very sure panic set in at a point with them, that's why they screwed it all up
God help us in Nigeria.

Yes, allegedly, the only eye witness Mr. Goodness Ujah who happens to be a close associate to CEDO-Former Deputy gov. Kogi. Claimed to have seen the alleged murderer cutting the journalist and putting it in a freezer. Only for the story to change again and now the journalist body was allegedly found all joined together but burnt.

How come they knew about incident quickly If not planned? Who knows, we might never know
How come the whole alleged incident happened in the house/compound owned by Edward Onoja-Former Deputy gov. Kogi. -

What does Edward Onoja the daughter Laureen Praise Onoja and Mr. Goodness Ujah know about it all?
Not untill a full investigation is done we cant know or absolve them of any ill act

There are silent witnesses who have written to Pelumi as late as 5 PM on the day this nightmare began, but are afraid to come forward. We need to create an environment where the truth can be spoken without fear. These call for an independent, robust and impartial investigation with network providers, Geo mapping technology and forensic investigation at the forefront of the push for justice.
