Governance is not the Olympics. Governance is different from athletics |
Davinity:Adeleke don't have a legal right to sack elected local government chairmen. He did not appoint them they are elected executives. Governor adeleke don't have respect for the rule of law. So until the dispute is settled.... there's no way |
Adeleke is popular for dancing 🩰🪩🩰 . That's what got him into power in the first place. Dance and governance are not the same thing. |
In this interview with TOBA ADEDEJI, Oluremi Omowaiye, the spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, speaks on why the Osun electorate should reject Governor Adeleke’s re-election bid. What is the level of your preparedness for August 15, 2026? Preparation is in top gear. We are reaching out to voters, and they have realised Governor Adeleke duped them during his first term. The reception has been wonderful. We are flagging off our campaign officially tomorrow (Thursday). Every member of our party is a canvasser. AMBO is doing his own, his deputy is doing his own, and his wife is doing her own. We all have a lot to campaign with. One obvious thing is that Governor Adeleke has clearly failed, so that has made the campaign easy for us. How has the governor failed? To be sincere, he has failed in all aspects. I will start with the airport. We have an airport in Osun; it is historic. Previous governors spent a lot on it. Adeleke came one day and said he was going to cancel it — he wanted another airport with the world’s longest runway, at 5.6 kilometres. He awarded it at N99.5 billion to an interior decorator. As if that was not enough, he increased the contract value from N99.5 billion to N130 billion. You are a journalist: if you renovate a school at N50 million each, N130 billion divided by N50 million gives you 2,600 schools. That amount would renovate all the schools in Ondo, Ekiti and Osun states. But Adeleke wants to spend it on an airport to achieve the longest runway in his hometown. How much has been spent on the airport project so far? I can’t say precisely, because three successive governors have done significant work on the project. I am sure the three governors spent at least N100 billion. Before Oyetola left, he brought in the Air Force to build an aviation city, and they built many facilities on the land — if you see what they have done at Ido-Osun. Coming to education: teachers were sacked, and our school infrastructure is in a terrible state. In the entire Atakunmosa East, we have 84 schools and just 97 teachers. Our state-owned universities are the most expensive in Nigeria, charging N1.5 million. The educational system is upside down. Read Also: Akume faults Makinde over Oriire abduction, says politics took priority over rescue On health, we are afraid. For a state that used to thrive in health care, go to the state hospital at Asubiaro — you will shake your head. The National Primary Health Care Development Agency issued a damning rating a few weeks ago: Osun ranked 35th out of 36. But the governor has built three flyovers and constructed over 400 kilometres of roads… He has not done 400 kilometres of roads. The annoying thing about Adeleke’s government is that Oyetola revitalised many primary care centres, and they were functional before we left. But because Adeleke sacked doctors, many of those centres are now empty. That is one reason we have the second-highest number of abandoned primary care centres in Nigeria. You build a road today; the next day, it rains, and it is washed away — is that construction? Many of those projects are substandard because they were given to companies without capacity. The Ila township road was awarded to a clearing and forwarding agency; a flyover at Lameko to an estate agent; the Iwo township road to an interior decorator. Adeleke is awarding a flyover to a fertiliser supplier. It is insulting! Adeleke’s infrastructural drive is one-sided; the projects are in Ede. The five roads linking Ede have been dualised. Meanwhile, the roads linking Osogbo are in a terrible state, as are those linking Ilesa, Ile-Ife, and other big towns. We have challenged him on several occasions: he has taken over N1 trillion — what can he show for it? Nothing! He simply wanted to embezzle through infrastructure. Do you think you will defeat him at the poll? Absolutely! I can bet with anybody: AMBO will defeat Adeleke hands down. But his SSG said Adeleke would win by over 100,000 votes? The SSG is saying that because of his position. How will he campaign for the people of Osogbo when all the roads leading to his town are in a terrible state, the health care system is poor, and no market has been touched by Governor Adeleke? The governor has spent N92 billion dining and wining, mainly in the governor’s office. The SSG is saying this to impress his paymaster. One of the prides of Osogbo is OSBC. The television station has been grounded, and yet you say you want to campaign. How will they campaign when substandard projects are all over the place? Go and look at the Oke-Fia flyover: it has not even been commissioned, yet it is failing. We saw structural defects. People are not stupid. Forget all this blabbing — people know the truth. Oyetola took the Dagbolu Dry Sea Port to about 85 per cent completion, but it has been abandoned. Imagine the number of jobs that dry port would have created for the people of Osun. When we were in government, we repaired the state hospitals in Osogbo; we built 120-bed wards, doctors’ quarters and many more. Now, you sacked doctors, and you think those who face the consequences of your ill-administration will vote for you? No! But there are allegations of violence and vote-buying hanging over your party… That is the plan of Adeleke and his party, Accord. In the violence that has been happening, we are the ones at the receiving end. I am shocked when I see the government going on air to claim they are being attacked. It is the governor who is harbouring wanted thugs in the Government House. If you ask them what they have done, they will abuse and hurl insults at us. Adeleke is seeking re-election to milk more of Osun’s resources for family gain. Contracts were awarded to the Deputy Speaker’s company and to other family allies. Adeleke drafted Amotekun to man his brother’s power plant in Ondo State. The governor and his family, who are controlling him, have nothing significant to offer. They are doing everything to benefit their family and themselves. Oyetola left about 35 ambulances, but today we have only seven left. The only thing they know how to do is embezzle, but the PROSPER manifesto of Asiwaju Bola Munirudeen Oyebamiji will restore the glory of Osun State, which Adeleke destroyed within four years. |

Pensioners endorse Tinubu for re-election, cite welfare reforms Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for second term, directing members across the country to support his re-election bid in the 2027 general election, in appreciation of what it described as the administration’s commitment to pensioners’ welfare. The endorsement was announced in Abuja by the National President, Mazi Godwin Abumisi, during the opening of Comrade Godwin Abumisi Pensioners’ Legacy House, a newly-built multi-purpose hall and apartment complex, at the union’s national headquarters. Abumisi said the Tinubu administration had distinguished itself through the approval of pension increases, payment of pension arrears and settlement of accrued pension rights, adding that the union would reciprocate the President’s support with votes in the next presidential election. “We express our profound gratitude to President Tinubu and his administration for providing an enabling environment for pensioners and our union through his sustained approval for series of pension increases, payment of pension arrears and accrued rights, which have consequently energised our resource base,” he said. He added: “We will never forget this goodwill in a hurry, as we promise to reciprocate the kind gesture at the appropriate time soon.” The declaration, which was greeted with applause by hundreds of pensioners at the event, marks the union’s first formal political endorsement ahead of the 2027 general election. Abumisi advised pensioners to remain united in support of the administration, insisting that President Tinubu had demonstrated commitment to improving the welfare of retired workers. The NUP president also reflected on the completion of the Legacy House, describing it as a major achievement of his administration and a symbol of unity for pensioners across the country. “In my vision to leave the union better than I met it, I made the construction of this Legacy House topmost priority of my administration to serve as a symbol of unity and pride for Nigeria Union of Pensioners and pensioners across the country,” he said. Abumisi said the union had immortalised individuals who contributed to its growth and the successful completion of the project. According to him, the two topmost apartments in the complex have been named after Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago, in recognition of their financial, moral and logistical support during the union’s 2025 National Delegates Conference in Kano. He said two other apartments would bear the names of former NUP presidents, Chief Laleye Adegun and Alhaji Ali Abatcha, while the 200-seat auditorium had been named after former national president, Dr. Abel Afolayan. The complex, he added, had been officially named Comrade Godwin Abumisi Pensioners’ Legacy House, following a resolution of the union’s National Executive Council. The NUP president lauded Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, National Pension Commission (PenCom), Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and other stakeholders for their support to the union and welfare of pensioners. He said the union would continue to work with relevant institutions to advance the interests of retirees across the country

God bless APGA God bless Nigeria God bless President Bola Hamed Tinubu |
Daily Post Nigeria Politics2027: APGA endorses Tinubu as preferred candidatePublished on July 15, 2026By Matthew Atungwu The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu as its preferred candidate for the 2027 general elections. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, who disclosed this, said the absence of the party’s presidential candidate’s name on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, nomination portal should not be interpreted as a failure to comply with electoral guidelines. Opara said the party’s leadership had already resolved to back Tinubu’s re-election bid after what he described as extensive consultations within its ranks. He further stated that the decision was reached by the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, which concluded that supporting the president’s second-term ambition was in the overall interest of the country. According to him, APGA remains an active participant in the electoral process despite not fielding a candidate for the presidency. He noted that the party has successfully completed the submission of candidates for other elective positions and has uploaded the names of its candidates for the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly elections to the INEC portal. “We have not uploaded a presidential candidate because the National Executive Committee of the party has already taken a decision to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” Opara said.
