I have an infinix note 4 (it's not clean)

You can't boost the battery yourself, it would be engineers who would do it for you.
They would remove the battery and connect it to a charger directly cuz it seems there's no charge remaining in your phone

Initially my phone used to go off at random times and restarts several times unless I plug it. Now it goes off as soon as I unplug the phone. I have done a factory reset but the problem persists.

I want to know if it is likely a battery or motherboard issue.

I changed mine too like 2 times but the battery still dies at 30 percent, abeg update me when you fix yours

The wrong charger you used has damaged your battery. Visit carlcare if they can still do something it's like they have some special software that diagnose battery but if the problem still persist after the test then a changing the battery is the way to go

Re-caliberate it by draining it down to 0% let it switch off itself after it has switched off, Power it ON again, switch it OFF and plug it to a power source and give it 100% full charge. Pls electricity not power bank this time and make sure you are using an original charger check the volt of the original charger that came with the phone and try to get from a friend that have such charger.

And please if you are the type that use power banks to charge phone battery make sure the power bank you use have the volt that is compatible with your battery else you are damaging your battery. Many mobile phone user are ignorant of these infos.

I tried this step yesterday with my roommate's charger which is the original infinix charger and it still died at that percentage but if I charge the phone to 50 percent it would die normally but if I charge it fully then it would die at 30 percent

I even tried my roommate's own original infinix charger and it gave me the same result.
The thing is if I charge my phone to 50 percent it goes down normally but if I charge it higher it starts the problem
