I appreciate this advocate for the masses in solar-powered electricity which is already ground been managed by the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigerian. I am not surprised he has taken the message to global stakeholders to ensure a clean energy environment for Nigerians.

Nairaland GeneralFortis Project Services Celebrates 10th Anniversary by Lifted2000(op): 9:26am On Sep 10, 2021
Nigeria’s leading construction company, Fortis Project Services, is celebrating 10 years of using innovative ways to contribute to the country.

The Nigerian-owned company has left its quality imprint in road construction, building, renovation, irrigation, boreholes, reservoirs and erosion control.

Beyond construction, Fortis Project Services has impacted the lives of communities where they have executed projects including creating direct and indirect jobs and employment.
This is evident when the company partnered with Huawei Technologies for the construction and equipping of Olufunmilayo Mobolaji Bank-Anthony Skill Acquisition Centre located in Ajah.

The company which is made up of professionals in engineering and management has over the years positioned itself as testimony that indigenous companies can compete with multinationals if they churn out quality jobs.

Headquartered in Lagos, Fortis Project Services with her technical partners has executed projects for the Lagos State Ministry of Transport and Lagos State Ministry of Education, The Nigerian Police Force, University of Lagos, Kwara State Ministry of Land and Housing, Oyo State Ministry of Health as well as private companies like Eko Atalantic, Eko Hotels and Towers, Shepherd Homes, Severtik Engineering, Toybat School, Gab Lizzy Hospital, TD Properties among many.

Other notable works undertaken by Fortis Project Services include, Integrated Traffic Signalization at the newly commissioned Agege Pen Cinema/Oke-Koto and the Mechanized Road Marking at Muritala Mohammed International Airport Road.

The company also executed the mechanized road marking at old toll gate - 3rd Mainland Bridge- Obalende, Iyana Oworonshoki - Apapa Oshodi Expressway.

Others but not limited to this list are rehabilitation of Lekki Epe Expressway; Mechanized Road Marking at Alao Akala Expressway, Orita Challenge and New garage/Odo-ona Elewe bypass, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Fortis Project Services have also carried out construction and renovation works at various public schools in Lagos state, notable among them are the construction of blocks of classrooms at Itu-Agan riverine area of Amuwo-odofin LGA, Lagos State.

The company thanked all clients and partners, promising to continue to deliver premium services to Nigeria and Nigerians.

Car TalkAre You An Attentive Citizen by Lifted2000(op): 6:56pm On Sep 04, 2021
No jokes that Nigerians are not paying attention to details in her country but excited about her neighbours’ when the good news has been home with us. Unfortunately, most of our local media reporters on TV, radio and social media channels package it as passive news without publicizing the positives.

I wonder if they expect a door-door megaphone announcement to be told of the 8 companies that produce and assemble cars here in Nigeria that I know of.

The Peugeot plant in Kaduna has been up and running, assembling thousands of cars like the Peugeot 301 on their line production.
This is why you see a couple of Peugeot cars on Nigerian roads these days. Hopefully, in about 10 years from now, the brand will fly high again because the reasons Nigerians love Peugeot still haven't died.

In 2018, Hyundai announced that it wanted to start its local assembly of Hyundai cars in Nigeria under Globe Motors, the biggest Hyundai car distributor in Nigeria.
In April 2020, Hyundai rolled out its first locally assembled cars like the Hyundai i10 Grand, Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Elantra and the Hyundai ix35.
Hyundai is a car brand that has started gaining so much traction in Nigeria because it has proved over the years to be reliable, highly functional and affordable.
This step Globe Motors made is why Hyundai cars are very much available as brand new and are also way cheaper than their major Japanese competitors.

Dana motors, the biggest distributor of Kia Motors in Nigeria, also has a local automobile assembling plant that produces major Kia vehicles like the Kia Rio.
These locally assembled cars were displayed at the 2020 Argungu Motor Rally. The Kia Rio is the most assembled car of all the Kia Motors line up because it is the most common vehicle from the South Korean automaker in Nigeria having high demand from the working middle class of Nigeria. The new prices of Kia Rio in Nigeria will tell you just how beneficial these steps have been.

Coscharis, the biggest distributor of BMW, Land Rover, Rolls-Royce and Ford cars in Nigeria, has been doing so well for years by launching a lot of the latest premium cars here in Nigeria like the all-new Land Rover Defender which nobody was expecting to see in Nigeria so soon.
Coscharis completed its assembly plant for Ford vehicles in 2018 with plans to produce between 10,000 to 20,000 cars there every year.
The Ford F-150 truck was the first car to be produced in this facility and it was a success.

Nissan started its local production of cars in 2014 starting with the Nissan Patrol SUV. This made the prices of brand new Nissan cars drop and that is why you see a lot of Nissan Almeras being used as official vehicles for a lot of private companies and government institutions
The Nissan Almera and the Nissan NP300 are two vehicles that have been consistently locally produced here in Lagos
Nissan was the first automaker to move in alignment with Nigeria's new automobile policy because Stallion Motors know that the demand for brand-new cars in Nigeria grows every year and it will only be profitable to the country and the company.

Everyone knows that Innoson was the first-ever fully Nigerian company that went into the production of automobiles and they have had success doing it here in Nigeria.
Innoson has its plant in the Nnewi area of Anambra state and is owned by Chukwuma Innocent, a Nigerian business tycoon. Innoson manufactures and sells its cars throughout Africa but it hurts me that the brand hasn't been well appreciated by Nigerians.
I was happy to find out that Innoson has been making moves to improve the lives of Nigerians. A striking example is a new ride-hailing service recently launched by the automaker.
Its latest model is the Innoson Caris which is a door premium-looking sedan in addition to the already existing Innoson Umu, Fox, Ikenga, G40 and G80.

Nord Automobiles is a Nigerian automotive manufacturer with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria.
The CEO Ajayi Joshua Oluwatobi is a young Nigerian that just has the vision to make sure that Nigeria gets on the world map of automobile makers.
The most popular automobile from Nord automobile is the Nord Tank which Nigerians love to see. It is a pick-up trunk that was beautifully designed to suit the Nigerian driving condition.
Other cars by Nord include the Nord A3, A5, Max Flit and Lasigi, ranging from sedans to full-size commuter buses.

Lanre Shittu Motors started its JAC Truck assembly plant in 2018 as a way to make heavy-duty trucks cheaper for Nigerian users.
It is learnt that the plant has the capacity to manufacture 6 units of trucks in one shift or 12 in two shifts depending on the market demand and can produce about 150 vehicles monthly.

Now that you know the 8 companies that produce and assemble cars here in Nigeria, it is time for you to start saving up to buy a brand new car at an affordable rate and our website will guide you through all you need to know about any car of your choice.
Nairaland GeneralElectricity Improves, Free Prepaid Metre Made Available To Nigerian Households by Lifted2000(op): 6:13pm On Sep 02, 2021
Our diehard spirit has again brought us closer to one of our desires for this nation. Uninterrupted power supply means life in our homes for business and leisure.
Days when children and adults shout “UP NEPA!” at the top of their voices are about to become history, in fact such is the case already at the Mpape community of Abuja, where there is constant electricity for businesses that thrive day and night.
For this reason, there has been an influx of people, Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the hospitality industry into the community in order to take advantage of this essential amenity. It is a green zone of night life from day to day.

Some years ago, postpaid metering connections were the order of the day. Consumers could not afford to measure their charges and control their consumption rates while billing came in roughly estimated values monthly - as an overcharge or undercharge.

Unfortunately, not every consumer was dedicated to their bills, some stuck to part, others no payments at all. Backlogs of payments led to irrecoverable debt for distributors, still the federal government kept subsidizing for the generation, transmission and distribution of power.

Despite this gross mismanagement prior to 2015, there has now been a huge turn around where you can feel the efforts of the chairman of the Power Sector Reform Working Group ensuring Nigerians enjoy electricity. As population increases, demand for electricity increases. The stakeholders in electricity had several engagements that led to national mass metering of 3 million homes with prepaid metre. Thousands of jobs were created through the local production of these prepaid metre.

More residents have joined the first set of prepaid metered consumers in Mpape community in enjoying full control of their electricity usage and authorities could easily track tariff payments. The proposed increase in tariff did not raise alarm because consumers are getting the value for their money and also there are prepaid metres ready for pickup for installation and replacement at any time.

I am certain almost all communities in Nigeria will be metered before 2023 because prepaid metre are now available for end users to pick up from the electricity distribution companies in their localities. I implore Nigerians to key into this opportunity.

We must remind ourselves of certain truth, the first is that our present challenges are neither unique nor exceptional. Various nations at various points in their histories underwent similar tribulations. Many nations throughout history and across the world have had to tackle this same task, many are still doing so. It is within our powers to address these challenges and emerge from them even stronger as a people.

Moving to squash any rumours or misunderstanding on the stance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni dashed to the Aso Villa to explain the position of the committee to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

According to a source close to the Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) Buni’s decision to see Osinbajo was necessitated because rumours were flying around about the fate of the Congress.

The source explained that prior to Buni’s visit, there was no communication between the VP and the Yobe Governor until late Friday night when he reached out to the VP around midnight. “By then the governors had already argued for the continuation of the Congresses, although some governors strongly argued against proceeding with the ward congresses,” the source said.

It will be recalled that the Vice President acting on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari met with senior legal members of the administration to proffer a solution to the problems that might arise following the Supreme Court ruling on Ondo State.
