PoliticsOpinion: Buhari’s Govt Failed Because He Ostracized The Igbos by lightskinnigga(op): 7:13am On Aug 16, 2022
No doubt, the buhari govt has been a tremendous failure and certain Nigerians have not only admitted to this but feel remorse for voting/supporting buhari.

Just like it is now, 2015 was a campaign against the igbos. Many were of the impression that former president goodluck Jonathan taking a liking to the igbos as enough disgruntle to kick him out.

Matter of fact, it was known fact that most Nigerians voted in buhari to deal with the igbos.

Fast forward to after election, buhari knew the assignment and why he was voted in..so he took it upon himself to ostracize the igbo with his “5%er” statement…which is a statement he revealed that he would give the igbos 5% of development.

He also proceeded to do more with his lethargic policies, Wch include;

Fighting pharmaceuticals: it is known fact that the igbos dominated and controlled pharmaceutical industries in Nigeria. Buhari proceeded to use the “give the dog a bad name so as to hang it” tactic by stating the igbos were responsible for drug abuse in northern Nigeria. This led to ban on certain drugs and high import cost on pharmaceutical products.

Shutting igbo import businesses: this was a subtle attack with included; closing of boarders, unavailablilty of forex/exchange rate.

No igbos in buhari’s govt: this was the boldest as Nigeria’s “federal character act” exclusively fought against exclusion of a geopolitical group/tribe in the 3 arms of govt. The buhari govt made it a point that no igbo would hold any arm of govt and/or any security position. Yet again, this was applauded by certain belligerent reprehensible individuals.

No train, roads, infrastructure for igbos: the buhari’s govt also made sure of this. While using online attack dogs to show only the second Niger bridge (being built by loan and to be tolled) as their only development in the eastern part of Nigeria. This move of marginalization on the east was welcomed by their evil crowd.

Crushing the biafran: this was a welcomed development to the belligerent crowd. A vile people that wanted eastern nigeria sealed off and extinguished. This move only backfired and led to colossal failure on the govt behalf.

Heavy tax on igbo businesses like cars, electronics, building materials
: the igbos in Nigeria Are known for their sagacious tendencies in trading..especially in this items mentioned. In fact, most Nigerians believe, buying building materials, cars/parts, electronics etc is a way of funding igbos. Buhari govt in a bid to fight igbos decided to heavily tax this items thereby creating more hardship on Nigerians.

With the above moves by buhari to undermine and destroy the igbos..the igbos seem not to bother and they’re surviving and developing faster than every other region in Nigeria.

Igbo south eastern region are highest in: education, health, human development, housing and small businesses.

They know it’s the igbos stopping the “muslinization” of Nigeria.

Barely a year after the devastating report that Lagos, Nigeria is sinking and the govt has done absolutely nothing about it..

The report read as follows:

Africa's most populous city is battling floods and rising seas. It may soon be unlivable, experts warn

Residents wade through flooded Ige Road, in Aboru, Lagos, after a heavy downpour on July 6, 2020.
Lagos, Nigeria(CNN) — Cars and houses submerged in water, commuters wading through buses knee-high in floods, and homeowners counting the cost of destroyed properties.

Welcome to Lagos during rainy season.

Residents of Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation, are used to the yearly floods that engulf the coastal city during the months of March to November. In mid-July, however, the major business district of Lagos Island experienced one of its worst floods in recent years.

"It was very bad, and unusual," Eselebor Oseluonamhen, 32 told CNN.

"I drove out of my house ... I didn't realize it had rained so much ... There was heavy traffic on my route because of the flood. The more we went, the higher the water level. The water kept rising until it covered the bumper of my car ... then there was water flowing inside my car," Oseluonamhen, who runs a media firm on the Lagos mainland, recalled.

Photos and videos posted to social media showed dozens of vehicles inundated with water after torrential rain. The floods paralyze economic activity, at an estimated cost of around $4 billion per year.

Home to more than 24 million people, Lagos, a low-lying city on Nigeria's Atlantic coast, may become uninhabitable by the end of this century as sea levels rise due to climate change, scientific projections suggest.

The problem is exacerbated by "inadequate and poorly maintained drainage systems and uncontrolled urban growth," among others, according to a study led by the Institute of Development Studies.

Nigeria's hydrological agency NIHSA has predicted more catastrophic flooding in September, usually the peak of the rainy season.

Eroding coastline

Lagos is partly built on the mainland and a string of islands.

It is grappling with an eroding coastline that makes the city vulnerable to flooding, which Nigerian environmentalist Seyifunmi Adebote says is attributable to global warming and "human-induced action over a prolonged period."

Sand mining for construction is a major contributor to shoreline erosion in Lagos, environmental experts have said.

Manzo Ezekiel, a spokesman for Nigeria's emergency management agency (NEMA), told CNN that the riverbank of Lagos' Victoria Island is already being "washed away ... particularly in the V.I area of Lagos." "There's this problem of the river bank being washed away. The increase in water level is eating into the land," Ezekiel added.

In Victoria Island, an affluent Lagos neighborhood -- an entirely new coastal city christened 'Eko Atlantic' -- is being built on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean, and will be protected from rising waters by an 8-kilometer-long wall made from concrete blocks, developers say.

A cargo ship passes along a waterway during construction at the Eko Atlantic city site in February 2016. A cargo ship passes along a waterway during construction at the Eko Atlantic city site in February 2016.
While the ambitious project could contribute to reducing housing shortages in other parts of the city, Ezekiel fears that "reclaiming land from the sea will put pressure on other coastal areas."

Other critics have argued that adjacent areas not protected by the wall will be left vulnerable to tidal surges.

David Frame, the Managing Director of Eko Atlantic told CNN the project "isn't creating a problem" for coastal communities.

"When dredging, we go between 20 and 25 kilometers out into the ocean because it is important to ensure the process does not impact the coastline and create erosion. This requires us to go further out to sea, beyond the 'Minus 15 Contour', which means we have to dredge in waters deeper than 15 meters," Frame said in a statement.

"During this process, we are not digging trenches. Instead, we trough along the seabed for half a meter to one-meter strips of sand. That way, we ensure we are not creating a problem," he added.
