I am interested in starting a business, and I am hoping to get some advice and ideas from this forum. I have a budget of NGN200,000, and I am open to different options. My goal is to start a business that can grow and be profitable in the long term. I have some ideas of my own, but most of the one's I have their markets are too saturated for me I'd like to hear your thoughts on what type of business I could start. I am particularly interested in businesses that are scalable and have the potential to become a large company. I am open to any industry, as long as it is something that I can get passionate about. Overall, I am open to any ideas and suggestions that you may have. I am excited to hear your thoughts and opinions on what type of business I should start. Thank you in advance for your help! |

The World Cup balls are charged before every game. The balls used at the World Cup in Qatar have a high-tech sensor which needs to be charged. The sensor is powered by a small battery, which Adidas said can last for six hours of active use, or up to 18 days when not. The sensor, which weighs just 14 grams, gives ball-tracking in real-time; with cameras positioned around the pitch helping referees to determine offside and other questionable decisions. Any time the ball is kicked, headed, thrown or even so much as tapped, the system picks it up at 500 frames per second. Data is sent in real time from sensors to a local positioning system (LPS), which involves a setup of network antennas installed around the playing field that take in and store the data for immediate use. When a ball flies out of bounds during the course of play, and a new ball is thrown or kicked in to replace it, KINEXON’s backend system automatically switches to the new ball’s data input without the need for human intervention. immortalcrown:Yes ajami is still being used in some core North areas, recently I saw a very popular Hausa singer say that he doesn't write in Latin Hausa text because he didn't go to Western education school he uses ajami(Arabic-Hausa script) to write down he's songs. So if it's about usability yes it's still being used and it's still being taught in Hausa language as a topic because it's part of the culture, it's in the curriculum. |
immortalcrown:Hmm firstly since Hausa language has been recognised officially indirectly ajami script too has been officially recognised because as I said earlier it's an undisputed fact that it has become a part of Hausa culture, it was used since before colonialism. Lastly I kinda get where you are getting at, indeed the Arabs brought the Arabic script and Islam but I want you to see them as two different things since that's what they actually are. |
immortalcrown:They literally mean Naira Dubu Daya - 1000 Naira, Naira Dari Biyar - 500 Naira and Naira Dari biyu - 200 Naira in Arabic text. I believe it must not get an official recognition for it to be on a note because it a Hausa identity it part of the Hausa history which in turn is a Nigerian identity. Plus some people in core North still read and write in these ajami scripts (Arabic-Hausa script) |
What many Nigerians often mistaken is that the Arabic text on the Naira notes is there for religious context, that is it is an Islamic text, it is not. Let's take a look at this example. It is now common sense that English alphabets is used for writing English language while that may be the case there's a little bit of history missing since the alphabets we credit as the English was originally known as Latin/Roman alphabets because The Romans first used these alphabets in reading and writing the Latin language before it was adapted into English, And at the dawn of English reading and writing a completely different script was used before it was changed to the now used Latin alphabets due to its versatility. Back to the Arabic on Naira notes issue, before the Latin alphabets came to Hausa land the Hausas used these Arabic text to read and write the Hausa language but due to popular and change in education it was changed from Arabic text to Latin. Thank you for your time. |
UnusualEmissary:Actually its my biased opinion which I know is not a popular opinion, plus I think seun likes to keep things simple. Thank you for your input. |
IslamIsIdiotic:Yes I 100% support you nairaland is light years behind them in terms of modernity and features but I actually enjoy nairaland more than Reddit actually maybe it's because of its simplicity I dunno for sure what it is. But I hope the monetization scheme will one day be implemented. Thank you for your input. |
I'm currently working on a case study on Nairaland for my school project, though it mustn't be on Nairaland but because this is a very popular forum I don't think there's any forum better than this(who be Reddit?, Who be quota?) It's my biased opinion. I apologize for the inconvenience but I'd really appreciate it if you guys drop some of your opinions on this forum. Thank you. |

Yesterday night my friends and I had a very serious argument that the population of students in ABU Zaria is 1 million above I was against it seeing that 1 mil is not a number to joke. We argued for almost 2hours las las nobody agreed with each other. I ended up with a rough guess of 500 thousand students including Post graduates. So my fellow nairalanders what's your view on this matter? |
