HenryIX:
Morning guys,
Congrats to damokollins. Your selfless service has gotten you this far. The good lord has just started with you. Victory upon victory for you.
Please, I will like to know the requirement and procedure for police clearance @ Alagbon. And how much it will cost. I am thinking i should do it while waiting for my evaluation from WES to get here.
Also, has anyone received WES evaluation by post? How long does it takes to get here? Been almost a week, I haven't seen it.
Thanks and cheers
As regards WES evaluation by post option, mine took 5weeks before it arrived. So just relax and cross-check other documents over and over again and again...

frankad: Hello Solomonwis, damkollins and the other gurus, weldone for the good work you guys have been doing so far.
I'll like to confirm something please...
My husband's IELTS results are as follows:
Listening: 7.0
Reading: 5.5
Writing: 6.5
Speaking: 7.0
Overall: 6.5
He is the principal applicant. I understand that this falls below the 24 points required, so I as the wife I'm thinking of registering for the next IELTS test.
My question is: Can I take the test and have my result merged with his own to qualify for us to apply? Or does he also need to take the test again?
Please assist.

In addition to what damkollins said and from what i deduced from what you wrote, " I understand that this falls below the 24 points required" 24 points is the maximum u can get for first official language while 16 points is the minimum required to add to other selection factors (i.e if your husband gets a minimum of 6 in all four language areas and he can only get the 24 points if scored nothing less than 9 in all four language areas).
Though I wrote my IELTS once and despite the time dedicated for practicing and the tactics used, I didn't get 9 in all the areas. I know it is possible but I would advise you write the IELTS as well to support him with additional 5 points.

lollipop29: Please House I need advise ASAP.

Is it a MUST and a prerequisite that my spouse must write IELTS exams since she's not the principal applicant? I am asking because I am the primary applicant and I have done my evaluation and scored 70%. And to make matters worst, we live in PH and IELTS exams are no longer held in PH (at least for now) and my wife gave birth few weeks back. So traveling to another state with a new born baby and all the inconveniences attached warranted my question.

Also, there is a section in the application form that asked " if your Spouse is proficient in English language". If I say NO, what is the implication? And if I say YES, it will require I provide an evidence (which is the IELTS test score).

Please I need urgent replies so I can decide either to go ahead and submit my application now or to enroll her for the exam in another state.

It's not a must your wife writes but it can add additional 5 points to yours if she does. But from your last sentence, i deduced u've had the required 67 points already. Should that be the case, i suggest you pocket your 35k but if your point is shaky, pls let her write. You can only be asked to provide proof if she earn point for adaptability for you which is under point for adaptability. You can as well mention the form name in order to be clear. Cheers.

jangirova: Hello guys, just want to know whether WES sends academic certificate for verification online or via regular mails /courier to schools. My school is yet to receive any doc from WES though my account read 'awaiting doc. verification from school' .Almost 2 wks now.

I would advise you tell your school to check their e-mail as mine was sent via that medium and I was fortunate to know someone at the registrar office that helped out.
1, If possible, go to the registrar office and explain to his/her secretary as I believe yours can't be first.
2, Make sure you have follow up as some institution don't always take it serious. If there is no pressure, they will just put the file somewhere and respond at their own leisure time.
Let me use mine as a sample case:

When WES updated my status with "awaiting verification from institution", I put a call across to my school to confirm but unfortunately, they didn't know the medium through which the verification was sent. On the third day, I called one of my contact in registrar's office and the lady pleaded with the secretary to check the school e-mail box and guess what? they sent it through mail.

My file was transferred to student affairs unit the following day, and it took them like 3 weeks (12 working days to be precise) before they could get done with. After which I was asked which option between e-mail and courier I would want and I went for e-mail cuz I don't want to spend extra dime on courier. They scanned the verification to WES the third week, and WES updated my status 2 days after that "evaluation in progress". 5 working days after this, I received an e-mail from WES that evaluation has been completed! But i made a costly mistake of picking a regular mail option when i registered as I still await my copy...

I hope you or someone out der learn something from this. Take care.

Pls does anyone know how to get bank certification from Gtbank? I was there on friday but they don't seems to understand what bank certification is. I explained to them, even showed them the format but the lady that attended to me typed reference letter for me instead. I rejected it anyway because it does not reflect my current account balance. I told her to include it but she said she would need authorization to do that and ofcourse I was asked to come back for it. And again, please do I need to address it to CIC in Canada or what since Gtbank said they can't put "TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN".

Hello good people on Nairaland,
Please does anyone know the numbers of days it will take WES report to get to Nigeria via standard mail? My evaluation report is ready and they updated my page that 2 copies have been sent via standard mail since Thursday (14/08/2014).
Thank you.

Hello my good ppl. pls kindly advise me on the next step to take as it's been more than 2weeks since WES requested my institution (LAUTECH) to send a written verification of the transcript sent which they haven't. My source at student affairs unit verified that the verification has been done and the file has been transferred to registrar's office since 31st of July. I would like ppl that have experienced same/similar problem to pls advise me on what next to do as I do not know how many days more it 'll take my registrar to respond to WES request or will there be need for me to pay another #8,600 for courier charge?
The only delay being encountered now is WES verification as all other documents are ready...

Thank you all...

Please help! where and how do i get goods to stock up my mini supermarket that is just coming up in a couple of weeks? And any idea on the varieties of goods that can move faster and where to get them with the starting capital of 500k for goods only would be very much appreciated.
I'm still looking for a good location around Ajah environ in Lagos. Not a big supermarket. Just small one to start with. I've told some of my friends to look out for shop that is not that expensive for me. My worries are where to get goods. Note that the 500k is for goods only. Thanks in advance for your help.

Health / Heavy Bleeding After Aborting Pregnancy With Cytotec by lillyadet: 12:18am On Feb 26, 2012
To any doctor based in Lagos

First, I am so sorry for intruding into this forum but i believe this is the only place where help come.

I believe we all make mistakes and sometimes we take decision that are ought not to have been taking,  Here is my story:

My name is Nicholas, I have a lady aged 23yrs that i loved so much and we've been dating right from university years. To go straight to the point, we had unprotected sex that leads to pregnancy which had reached 4weeks of its gestation age before we noticed, we make a drastic decision of aborting the pregnancy because we are not ready for it. And the matter became worse when all the hospitals we visited refused to do the abortion for us.

We were in confused state as we do not know the next thing to do. I personally resolved in searching for the drug that can abort pregnancy online which I later find (mifepristone and cytotec), we were unable to find mifepristone in pharmacy shop but we do find cytotec. She took cytotec alone (800mcg) 200mcg each. she started bleeding 30minutes later and continues like that till the following day with so much pain. She took another 800mcg 2days after as the instruction indicated and the bleeding stopped the following week. She went for scan 2weeks later and no traces of pregnancy was find. We thought that was all but she developed fever and was admitted to hospital and discharged 2days later after treatment.

Ever since the abortion, she bleeds everyday continuously or the bleeding stops today and starts again the following day. She puts on pad everyday, (today 25-02-12 will make it 39th day that she's been bleeding non-stop). The bleeding sometimes will be light that she can use one pad for 2days and sometimes, 2 or 3pads in day.

I went back online and read about the aftermath of the drug and checked discussion forum, some complains of bleeding for 3months even after they have consulted doctor and some even more.

Please, we know we have made mistakes but we need help. She cries everyday and i do feel her pain, what can we do to solve this problem?

Thanks to you all!
