I have a job and family resources however I used my friend in the US (same state as my school) as my sponsor due to ease of access to her bank statements when I applies.... I do have a few relatives including a brother in Boston but he's paying off loans and can't be a sponsor.

Pls does have a US citizen as a sole sponsor reduce my chances for F1?

My husband and I have been married since 2014, he however didn't update his greencard application in 2016 when he received it, to say that he was now married ( His parents applied for him many years prior to our marriage).

I have a valid visitor's visa (which I would be renewing again early 2018) but we're trying to relocate in 2018. He can stay legally in the US but I can't. I read that his filing for me as spouse of GC would not give me a legal stay in the US and I will have to remain in Nigeria until I get a priority date (which could be 3/4 years from now).
How do we go about it pls?
