BusinessHow Do You Or Your Company Dispose Of Industrial/technical Goods? by linkfactor(op): 3:39pm On Oct 28, 2011
Hello All,

I was hoping to get your views and input on how you get rid of either unused or partly used good in your home and/or office. I'm refering to items like furniture, machinery, electronics, [excess/unused] building materials, generators, etc. Do you monetize the items? If you do, how and what method do you use?

Looking forward to your responses. Thanks, in advance.  smiley

NamechangeNigeria is an information website that provides visitors with both verified and unverified change of name updates around Nigeria. It is a initiative of Connexus Ventures, a brainwave product of one of her founders.

In the current dynamic world driven by information technology, it's time to stop storing those old newspaper tear-outs for years unend, just so you can prove you've changed your name. NamechangeNigeria helps you share official name change information with your employers, co-workers, corporate/membership bodies to confirm authenticity of your name change.

Did you ever hear about those who lost their documents in a natural disaster or domestic accidents? Now you can have a verified (featured) account on NamechangeNigeria that gives you the opportunity to upload, download and print/re-print your original documents that usually prove your name change, e.g. marriage certificate, change of name deed poll, affidavits, etc.

As part of our services, we assist in helping you process your change of name documents and providing relevant legal [and other] advice. As circumstances vary, you will need to contact us to get a quote for any service required related to name changes. We are affiliated with highly professional legal partners and provide references as needed.

The naija syndrome of taking short cuts instead of doing it right.
But he's actually right, from looking at CAC site. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg, or rather doesn't have to. Registering your company (not just business name) in the UK is about #20 GBP. It should only make sense.

I think.
FamilyRe: How Do You Change Your Last Name After Marriage by linkfactor: 5:28pm On Feb 19, 2010
Iranoladun:
I'm surprise at all the responses.  To the best of my knowledge, you cannot just go to a newspaper whether you are a man or woman and just declare that you want your name to be change. shocked

If you want to change your name for reason of being married under the Native law & custom i.e. traditional marriage, church or mosque (Customary act) or marriage act (i.e. marriage in a registry) the steps below is what you need to follow:

You need to do an affidavit (i.e. swear on oath) with a lawyer (Notary Public) or in front of a Commissioner for Oath in a Court before you then go to a newspaper for the purpose of widely circulating the notice of change of name.

However, If you have a marriage certificate you will need to present it otherwise your lawyer or Notary Public may do a "Deed Poll" for you i.e. your husband will also need to sign the document to confirm that he has given his permission for you to be bearing his name.

Changing of name without a 'Mrs." simply involve an affidavit  & newspaper publication (i.e. if you are a man or you are a 'Miss"wink.
Hi Iranoladun, you seem to know much about this, so i have a question: What is the main purpose of placing this information in the newspapers? What section of the law specifies that it MUST be the newspapers? Or is it just that it has to be made public by some means or the other, or you just need to have a physical copy/record of the change? basically, can't I decide to make mine public by placing it online? what are the legal issue for/against this?

Thanks. It's just that I've been wondering what the logic is behind the newspaper thingy,
WebmastersRe: Punch Newspaper Website Free Again? by linkfactor: 9:35am On Dec 14, 2009
I guess the very passionate critics of the model never really made any error in their own business concepts (if they ever had any). I think it's better when you realise your mistake and correct it than not to have tried at all. It's a lesson. They've moved on. Let's move on too. Punch in my opinion still remains one of the best dailies in Nigeria.

Big lessons learnt here. I also don't think online news would be paid for in the future by anyone. It's funny though: if you can or have to pay for news prints, why can't there be an online model (that'll work)?
