Errr....they have not opened the gear nor engine,
Flexplate is what we know as flywheel

Mr Gazzy..good day,I hav a Corolla 2004 with tapping sound in the engine bay,my technician diagnosed and found out that flexplate is bad,I read online that if not properly done the issue could reoccurring and hereby damage transmission...pls I want to know what causes this issue and if it's an easy fix or I submit to you

your mechanic is very right. The 2003-2007 corrola (bank or usa) is one of the most rugged vehicles I have come across. Currently getting an expensive vehicle for uber is not smart, (I have been there) get a cheap, sound fuel efficient vehicle. Any of the highlighted vehicles will suffice.

My main issue is that my Kazeem says the 2009 corolla is not as rugged as the 2006 American corolla and 2009 Corolla maintainance is quite high. I checked the silencer of the 2009 and there was a little blackness when i touched in..I really like d 2009 Corolla sport trim tho..should I obey Kazeem Wasiu or follow my heart..?

Dear Gazzuz....thanks for your assistance thus far....the Hyundai Elantra 08 is an interference engine and also uses a timimg belt...that scares me...cos any snap of the belts,the engine is destroyed.

Gazzuz...nice thread...pls I need your honest opinion on this...been looking for a naija used Corolla but prices arent helping and due to my pockets am considering a naija used elantra 08(although prices arent far off from the corolla)...am actually worried about ruggedity and parts availability, as most people I know use the elantra for uber so they dont really have much idea about its ruggedity..Is a naija used elantra 08 worth the risk?? as I also want to list it on uber for some extra cash and personal use in some cases...
