This newborn baby has been hailed a 'miracle' after surviving being abandoned naked six feet underground in a freezing storm water drain in the midst of a colony of stinging red ants.

Charmaine Keevy, 63, was out for an early morning walk with her sausage dog Georgie in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, when it suddenly started barking loudly at a drain duct in the gutter.

The catering company boss said she heard a noise and thought it was a cat mewing but when she got on her hands and knees realised she could hear a baby crying from deep inside the drain.

Charmaine began frantically waving down passing cars for help until motorist Cornie Viljoen, 60, pulled over. And after listening for himself they both agreed they could definitely hear a baby sobbing.


He grabbed a steel bar from the boot of his car and with Charmaine's help the pair of them managed to lever the heavy concrete slab covering the storm water drain free so they could look inside.

Rescuer Cornie had to drop six feet down into the drain and almost immediately began being stung on both his legs and realised he was standing in a colony of red ants as he tried to grab the baby.

'The red ants were stinging my legs but then I felt this baby's leg and then saw the baby and I realised that this was a crime scene so I took a flash picture and handed my phone up to Charmaine.

'I didn't know if the baby was injured so I tried to pick her up very carefully and very slowly and she was so small. I just wanted to hold her for a while but I knew that she needed urgent medical help.

'The baby was lucky the red ants were higher up in the drain and not down at the bottom where she was.

'I just do not know why anyone could do this to a new born baby but I was just so glad that we were able to help her and save her life. I told Charmaine to call the emergency services right away' he said.

The police and an ambulance arrived quickly and paramedics treated the baby at the scene for hypothermia and she was rushed to the Dora Nginza Hospital for emergency treatment.

I cannot help but feel that there is some sort of a plan and a purpose for that little girls' life – it is a miracle without a doubt.

The eighth wife of Swaziland King Mswati III, Ms Senteni Masango, has committed suicide, local media confirmed.

“The king’s wife is believed to have overdosed on about 40 amitriptyline capsules – widely used to block the long-term (chronic) pain of some rheumatic conditions and treat depression and related disorders,” online publication News24 reported.

Masango – known as Inkhosikati LaMasango –was found dead early on Friday morning and she was buried on Sunday morning.

King Mswati III chose Ms Masango as his eighth bride in September 1999, when she was only 18.

It soon emerged she had a record for truancy, poor grades and she was a high-school dropout and a rebel.

Last year, King Mswati III, married his latest bride, Ms Siphelele Mashwama, who was aged 19 years.

It is a tradition for the Swazi King to choose a wife every year.

Two soldiers have been killed during a fierce gun battle with armed bandits in Bawar Daji village in Anka local government area of Zamfara state, authorities have said.
The council chairman of the LG Alhaji Mustapha Gado told Daily Trust that soldiers stationed in the village had engaged the bandits in a gun duel that left many of the assailants dead.

A soldier and a captain, however, lost their lives in the process.

Gado said the corpses of the soldiers were brought to Anka town and then moved to Gusau, the state capital.

"The commander of the troops was in Anka today from the Bawar Daji village, he came for reinforcement and a good number of military vehicles moved in to the battle field to reinforce those already there," he added.

Gado was not able to immediately give an accurate number of the killed bandits.

Last week, at least 30 people were killed in the same village by suspected armed cattle rustlers.

Reacting to the massacre, the State Goveror, Abdul'aziz Yari gave a shoot at sight order for any civilian spotted by the security operatives wielding rifle.

Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, has pointed out that the problems bedevilling Nigeria have no ethnic or religious colourations.

He stated this while urging leaders to be selfless and sacrificial towards ensuring that the country’s challenges are resolved.

The Waziri of Adamawa’s remark was contained in a statement signed by his media office in Abuja to mark the Easter celebrations.

He also called on Nigerians to emulate the virtues of love and sacrifice which characterised the life of Jesus Christ.

Atiku described those two qualities as essential to the unity Nigeria so “desperately needs at this time when vested and provincial interests threaten to tear our nation apart.”

Big Brother Naija 2018 housemate, Cee-C has finally opened up on how she met the show host, Ebuka and how the meeting paved the way for her to be on the reality TV show.

Many residents of Oshodi area of Lagos State were at the weekend full of praises for the Lagos State Government when officials of the State Ministry of Youth and Social Development swooped on the area and arrested about 43 beggars at different locations within Oshodi and its environs.

When contacted, the State’s Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Agboola Dabiri confirmed the raid, adding that rescuing destitute and beggars was within the mandate of the Ministry. He said that the officials of the Ministry, especially its enforcement arm would continue the exercise and extend it to other parts of the State until every nooks and crannies of Lagos was liberated from the menace posed by beggars, miscreants and destitute.

The immediate past General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church worldwide, Prophet Samuel Abiara, has taken a new wife.

At a brief but colourful ceremony in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State, on Thursday, the 75-year-old walked his new bride, Grace Ojewande, down the aisle, one and half years after he lost his spouse, Christianah, whom he was married to for over 50 years.

The wedding, which took place at the Christ Apostolic Church, Agbala Itura, saw top dignitaries including respected Christian leaders in attendance.

The new wife, who could not hide her joy at the occasion, is said to be in her early 50s and a native of Ifetedo in Osun State. Ojewande, a Level 16 officer at the Lagos State Ministry of Education, worships at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.


According to Sources close to the family, the new bride had never been married or bore any child before exchanging marital vows with the clergy.


Giving reasons why he decided to remarry at 75, Prophet Abiara had said that he consulted widely before arriving at his choice. He said, “My children, who are now grown-ups, held a meeting and concluded that I should get a new wife who will attend to my everyday needs at old age. After due consideration and having satisfied my conscience that my children’s suggestion was in conformity with the scriptures, I made up my mind to marry a new wife. The Bible established it that when a man loses his wife, he has the right to remarry. I am acting based on the directive of God and the advice of my children.”

A big man in Abuja died few months ago. He had this female 'daughter' who was close to his whole family. She used to get juicy contracts as a result of her knowing the man and was always doing 'mummy's daughter' to his wife. The wife looooved her so!

Well, the man's phone was unlocked to get bank information, legal case details....
stuff like that. And voila! It was discovered through whatsapp chats that he and this lady (a churcheous lady, by the way) have been dating since her university days. And carried on the relationship till he passed on. The wife has been really pained and disappointed. She said she remembered a particular university student her husband was dating that almost cost her her marriage. Little did she know she was dining with the devil.

The lady in question was very active at his burial in Lagos, and was consoling the wife and children. We all praised her for honouring her mentor, even in death. So imagine how it was when we found out.

Turns out she used to make at least 10m a month from his connects for a period of about 5 years; for her 'charity organization' (these women shaaaa!!). She lives in a remote part of town, in a small house her husband built and drives a small 2004/2005 saloon car. She's been calculated enough to live within her husband's means to a point that he doesn't suspect. So when he was 'anonymously' informed, she denied and he believed. Left to him, his wife depends on him for everything and submits her monthly salary to him. So he has no reason to suspect such a woman. Abi?


Are you surprised? Oh! You want to pretend you don't know that married women compete about who has the 'bigger boyfriend' than the single babes? Shameless men collect contracts through their wives and don't ask how it came. They will now use the money and chase girls to quench their anger. Lol. Runs is a 'merry-go-run'. Isn't it?

My question is... who are the real runs girls The single girls who are looking for money to slay, or the married women looking for contracts and juicy job offers? Would we now say that the single babes who do it all before they get married, can be excused because they are not defiling their bed? Or would we call them foolish for getting relative peanuts, when they can wait until they have a more concrete reason to be discreet and use that to demand more?

Anyway, aunty is still going around town crying that she doesn't know who spoilt her name, bla bla. But oga's wife has pictures to prove and keeps the phone as close to her as possible. She can even put it in her vagina sef if that would keep it safe and secure from any 'loss'. We will see where this ends.... Hopefully oga's wife's hands too are clean.


Oh! If the dead could arise and tell his own tale. His children are heartbroken by this development.

Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Frank Edwards, who is known for a series of hit gospel songs, have taken to Instagram to write an emotional note on when he used to sell the popular meal ‘Okpa’.

The singer mentioned that he sold okpa for about 10 years and it was always his breakfast and dinner everyday.

Frank Edwards has since gone far beyond poverty as he is obviously living in luxury now and at the same time having great connections within the society as well as in the gospel music scene. He has had collaborations with lots of international artistes, including top gospel singer Don Moen.

You see this here it’s called okpa. My mum was making it and we were both selling it , this was my breakfast and dinner everyday… The process of making it was ridiculous.. my mom used fire wood and I was the one fanning the fire because kerosene was luxury.

So I had smoke entering my eyes 5 hours everyday for over 10 years except Sundays, my eyes were always Red until it became permanent then I started having eye problem cus I was always rubbing my eyes with dirty hands trying to clear the smoke..

Cus I didn’t understand why my vision was blurred ,, my mum had same issue too with her eyes,, regardless we still hit the road to sell.
