I think in summary ,the VO is trying to say wether u are introduced, engaged, married, separated or divorced or even dead... The embassy does not work with hear say... Its an evidence based thing...be honest but smart enough not to end up in administrative processing...
U r planning or not married---fiancee visa
U have started the marriage journey smhw,or married sm how wether in the dreams or in the traditional way, simply get a paper proof---spousal visa

Hope this helps

I think its all about upright documentation and God's favour

MarieEyre:
Please, my fiancee and I plan on doing our trad wedding sometime in December this year. Is it too early for him to start applying for the Fiancee visa or we should wait until we are done with the trad wedding. Note that we plan on doing our white wedding in the US. Also, what's the maximum period of time that the Fiancee visa lasts?
Traditional marriage hmmm--is that not a form of marriage--fiancee visa is meant for those yet to b married

Hellooo everyone
Hi VO,hw r uuu?
Pls i hv being wondering about IR1/CR1 visa, since nvc has the documents already which is to be sent to the embassy in view of the interview, what documents or photocopies are we expected to bring along? Nvc checklist on p4 doesnot indicate a new document, and sm1 said i shud bring hubby's AOS and tax clearance which nvc has already.
Also abt bona fide rship proof, i hv an album of photos that are beta organised but sm1 told me its prefered singly...need d right info.
Officially, am confused... And need guidelines

Thanks@ VO
Good luck also to those awaiting interviews

Helloo VO,
Is Cr1/IR1 visa given any preference in terms of processing and wait times at the consulate level? It seems K1 visa moves a lot faster than CR1/IR1 visa even at the NVC level, from what I see around net, looks like you guyz are strict and meticulous with cr1/1r1 visa. Also can one visit even when case is under review at nvc and Pls what kind of visa is required, I kinda see it might affect case and it may look like trying to use another short cut to immigrate, pls advise. Is interview scheduling independently done by nvc? To expedite a case under review at nvc,how can that be done? Thanks

VisaOfficer:
Every relationship is unique, so I can't tell you what your husband should bring to the interview. Also, if I did have a mental checklist of what I expected to see (which I don't), I would never make it public, because then everyone would bring exactly what I wanted to see whether their relationship were real or not. smiley The most important thing will be what your husband says in the interview.

We don't have a policy in place that allows beneficiaries to choose the officer who interviews them. I can tell you that no officer makes visa decisions based on personal likes and dislikes; if a beneficiary qualifies for the visa, he or she gets the visa. (We're not supposed to have personal feelings about that at all, but I admit to feeling happy all day when nice people get visas.) smiley
Helloo VO and everyone,

I see a lot of people talk about administrative processing due to insufficient materials like communication evidences, like u said no two cases are the same and rships modalities differ depending on the individuals involved and the CO decision is factored by different things. But I ask and wonder if accommodation is made for those subset who do more of calls, and with the evolution in technology some means of communication is kinda becoming outdated. For instance,I Cnt rmber emailing my husband, and he doesnot like Facebook or social media, and not too much a pix person,he doesnot like to chat if there is a need to discuss cos things are easily misunderstood via chat unlike calls, since I could just call, send sms, and he runs a very busy schedule and me with med school and exams,hv few video chats, now there is whatsapp,we chat, face time,bbm,--sites where extracting records of msgs isn't easy, and from dating, courtship now marriage has always been across the distance. Long distance rship has a lot of limitations such as this insufficient evidences that leads to administrative processing. Now the only chance of being together is still limited by the already existing limitation---distance. Although the consulate is being strict to fish out fraud but I humbly ask that all these be factored in especially for the subset of individuals whose rship have always Bn across the globe with less evidence like trips to the movies, dinner, vacation, frequent visits airfare(things are hard), For us is like "see u when we see". Thanks

Hello VO,
Nice job,we can't bt say may the good God of Nigerians bless u richly
Seems the consulate operates independent of nvc,the new 60days wait at nvc to get reviewed is heart accelerating though the workload seems way higher than available manpower. Can the journey from NVC to the consulate be made shorter and easier? The whole visa journey is enough to give one hypertension from missing ur spouse too much to palpitation of not knowing when u wud get a response. I have new addiction of checking visa case status at ceac hoping I see the good news. This long distance is killing me. But how long Does CR1 visa take from NVC to interview for nigeria consulate.

Good day VO,
Thanks for being of such an assistance to us.
Please would like to know the waiting time between NVC and nigeria consulate to schedule CR1 interview and since almost all the required original documents have being submitted to NVC,there is none to bring for interview. Also am yet to hear from NVC and my passport expires soon, what can I do? What are expected to be done or brought to ensure successful CR1 interview apart from being honest in all documentation? Thanks
