At the early hours of 9th of march 2017, ALONG Port Harcourt to Owerri Road, specifically, omagwa, Rivers State, a coca cola truck filled with empty bottles got one of its tires busted, and the it crashed at the middle of the express way. Spilling broken bottles on the main road. A vehicle behind the truck trying to save its head loosed control also, Leaving a woman selling foodstuff on the road seriously injured.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board [JAMB] has given
Candidates a clue as to when the 2017 UTME will be conducted.

According to the information on the Board's official twitter handle,
the 2017 UTME will hold by May, 2017.
However, the actual date the examination is to commence was not
specified but the information says it will be disclosed soon.

The board equally warned candidates against falling victims to
fraudsters and advised them to only rely on the official information
from the board.

Despite the fact that the Board is yet to announce the date for the
commencement of 2017 UTME registration, I think With this, candidates
can now be rest assured that the 2017 UTME will still hold and be able
to prepare adequately.

So if you are among those already saying that there will be no UTME
this year, better go and start reading to avoid information
misinterpretation.

The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has disclosed that the body has been working with the possibility of conducting a “mock examination” to test its preparedness with the new technology and also examine some people that are desirous of knowing their competence with the JAMB examination.

He made this known during interaction with newsmen after a meeting with JAMB officials and other stakeholders regarding the new Information Technology being introduced into the system to make it less stressful to candidates.

He added that so far the the board has been working on increasing the capacity of the CBT centres to maximize their effectiveness to examine more candidates within a given date.

He mentioned that an estimated 1.7 million candidates are expected to register and sit for the Computer Based Test (CBT) across the country which is expected to commence soon.

He however stated that he cannot promise hitch free examination because the board is still testing certain things and in the process of changing the status quo.
